Every time I'd master copying a Page solo, as hard as it may have been, I'm just floored by the fact that he just came up with it, usually in a take or two. Obviously, it was worked on a bit in practice, but It's the creativity and feel that is really astonishing. The guy is a master composer at heart.

    • @lessmorley2091

Page is easily in the top 5 for his chops alone.Page however,is far more than just a guitar slinger. He is a master composer, producer, engineer, visionary, pioneer and renaissance man. And,one of-if not the greatest showman to ever wield an axe onstage-period.he left a major imprint on the entire world that few ever achieve in any field, and made the Les Paul the Les Page as it were.you could say he set the bar as for what a R&R axe slinger is-as defined,as it intends.in his own words he"ll tell it straight:"I'm a slop artist".his licks however, are oh so satisfying to play as they offer instant swing and swagger just by going thru the motions..he used his axe as a weapon,a sexual appendage and a sorcerer's wand-at the same damn time- and obviously, the magic spells he cast were as real as they were effective,so those of you who lack the ability to recognize and acknowledge the substance and talent of Jimmy Page as surely as it implies:stf up with that bs already bc nobody gives a shit what you think and you're wasting oxygen that would be more useful as exhaust outta horse's arse..but I digress....

Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on UA-cam. 😀

Interesting that Page got the merited status of the best rock guitar player of the history for what he did in just 3 or 4 years, from November 1968 when Led Zeppelin recorded the first album ( but only released in March 1969) to 1971, when the Led Zeppelin 4 was released, which had Stairway to Heaven. Their 4 best L. Zeppelin albuns, L. Zep. I, II, III, IV was made in 3 years!
We can add here the first half of 1973, when the album Houses of the Holly appears, and some months after , in the same year, when they played the concerto at Madison Square Garden which appear as the Live double album "The Song Remains the Same" just in 1976.
Houses of the Holly is a bit worse than the first 4 albuns in my opinion, although it has 2 very very important Led´s songs, and one good one at least, - the 2 important: Rain Song, No Quarter - and the good The Songs Remais the Same. The 1973 live version of these 3 songs got much better than the studio version. I think that in his time they had already passed by their pinnacle. It seems No Quarter was composed more than a year before this album, it was just recorded in this moment.
After that, in 1975 we got Physical Grafitti, a very irregular album, with some Led´s immortal as kashmir, Ten Years Gone, Born-Yr-Aur, maybe The Rover, and a lot of bad songs. I knew last year that they utilized ancient recordings to make this double , so there we can hear songs recorded 2 or 3 years before which they didnt want to include in the precedent released recorded discs. Physical Grafitti already showed us a bit decadent Led Zeppelin, they are not the same anymore.
The two later albums, Through the Out Door and Presence were not good, anyway we find I´m Gonna Crawl on the first one, a good song. "Coda" was just a collection of ancient recording, not good too.
The synopsis of Led Zeppelin history that the 4 guys nedded just 3 years to become the best rock band of all times.

Presence is awesome. I still have my pink 8 track I got in high school. Hated it at first. Had to shelve it for a while. Has been in my truck cd player 6 months now. Achilles, Nobody's Fault, Tea For One, which Jimmy said was his favorite lead on lp, For your Life...an amazing lead.
Give it another listen with fresh ears and do it loudly.

Jimmy Page also has that infamous Thigh Gap, a physical trait that many young females are envious of and desire VERY badly! (John Paul Jones had one, as well!) Jimmy Page was also a female-to-male transgender (from birth, which explains the curvy, womanly hips, in spite of being thin), Thigh Gap and overall feminine appearance, mannerisms AND behavior. 🤔
