Thank you so much. I'm 67 and always dressed well, but since retirement, I've got sloppy. You have reinstated me. I've thrown out all my junk cloths and today refreshed my wardrobe. I'm now looking and feeling snappy and polished. A man with intent and meaning. No longer old, now refined, and it feels great. 🎉
A tailored blazer or 3, dark denim, is definitely a great investment. I own 2 classic overcoats. My timeless wrist watch is a Citizen Eco drive. You are so right about a cashmere sweaters. Collarsandco sell brilliant styles. A well fitted dress boats are great and timeless. My signature scent is anything some Creed. There are other scents out there, too. For smart polo shirts, refer to were I get my sweaters. My go to low minimum sneakers are from Thursday Boots. Thanks for mentioning chinos. They are very versatile and polished, too. I need a pair of classic slim wool trousers. I started wearing tassel loafers last year. Thank you for mentioning a tailored suit in this list. You put a great list again, thank you, Sir.
Totally agree on the watch front, not needing to spend a lot so long as it works well! A stainless, low-cost,retro watch like a slightly chunky Casio looks solid with a casual blazer or a pea coat!
I discovered your channel this year brother, just scrolling through UA-cam. I must say that it incorporates every important style element ( at an age appropriate level). Although it focuses on the 49 and better age group, some of the style cues mentioned in this post could also be highly useful to Millennials. May I add that another timeless piece of sartorial elegance for OG’S is the cotton button down shirt ( with adjustable wrist buttons. I started wearing them during college, and received several compliments for substituting the T shirt or Polo or hoodie or sweatshirt, for this fashion must have.
Listen to this man, he knows. Fellow older guys that don’t like to shop for clothes. Get a Gap/ Old Navy account online & update your wardrobe. Worked for me!
This is a great video. I just turned 65. You nailed my own personal OG style, right down to my watch collection, and my favorite Guerlain Vetiver cologne I’ve worn for decades. Thank you. Great advice.
OG: Great content as usual. I’d add a basic, clean, white t-shirt to wear under sweaters or dress shirts (open tab collar or with a tie). They peek through under sweater and should be white (not grayish or brownish). For the gentleman with wide feet I’d add loafers with expansion like the Allen Edmond Randolph. And lastly, I’d add a pair of sunglasses they fit your style and your face. Protecting your sight becomes essential as you age. Great content. I could go on but I love your picks already!
I think a nice hat when wearing a suit would be a nice addition to your wardrobe and facecap when you're in a casual setting. Both should be worn comfortably and correctly since we are in a mature season in life.
The chelsea boot is something that I need to get soon. I think it gives a better look than an Air Force One or a Jordan sneaker as I have matured into my 40's
Fantastic stuff OG, one can sometimes forget the basics and need reminding before one makes a expensive mistake. The list is faultless and solid. Salute.
You have me thinking about it, I'm focused. The blazer/sport coat is a great way to top off anything, I'm picking up a couple of new ones and tailoring another. Shopping for some dark denim too. Overcoat now that it's cold. Good review....
Salute, I agree with the tailored blazer my brother. For some reason I like the ones with the patches on the elbow. But I agree with everything you've talked about on this video. Salute
The minimal sneakers is the best on the list because they are so versatile. And make sure you get all of the colors. It really goes with everything. From shorts all the way to suits. Thanks big Jeff and salute.
I am also a big fan of minimal sneakers for casual situations. They go with chinos of various colors, jeans and chino shorts. Very versatile. Back in July, I got the Premier Low Tops from Thursday Boot Company in the coffee color as I love that color and go with so many different colored chinos whether different shades of blue, khaki, gray as well as olive and other colors. I also recently got their Encore sneakers in all white. I also have the Adidas Stan smith low tops in all white.
I pretty much wear chinos exclusively when not in a suit, especially living in a warmer climate like southern California. It would be great if you had a video for dressing in warmer weather climates vs. colder weather climates (if you haven't already). I think most of your suggestions are for the colder weather climates, which makes sense because these climates have summer season which you do address. However, there are unique aspects to dressing year around in southern California, the southeast, etc. For example, I find wearing wool intolerable in warmer weather climates, even during their winter seasons.
Thank you for your channel. I'm new, and wondering if you have received requests for a video about clothes hoarding. When you discuss wardrobe essentials, if you could do a video on the topic of purging from the male perspective, it is GREATLY needed. A lot of men have way too much clothes, shoes, sneakers, ect. There are so many videos done by women, for women. Men need to hear and understand this too. My cousin has encroached upon the closets of the family. His wife has no more space to give. Perhaps discussing closet organization tips as a way of talking about how much is too much would be a great segway... Thank you🙏🏾
Something I always HATED growing up that I've recently gotten into is boat shoes. I guess they kinda fall into the loafer category but they're VERY comfy and look cool with jeans and guayaberas. I've been a diehard boot guy for my whole life but I live in Mexico so it's nice to have something to wear with no socks...
That overcoat is one cold blooded look brother. And a timeless watch, that too me just speaks a different language altogether. Been wearing one since my teens.
Great content, very helpful especially as I'm single and have no critical eye on me. Just to say I would humbly suggest avoiding the hoody under the top coat look especially for the older gent.
One tip if like myself you like your trainers (sneakers) choose a solid colour pair, I wear Nike SBs they go well with jeans and slim fit chinos, they have minimal detail. Also dark, small pattern polo shirts along with a Bomber jacket like a Harrington 👌
I think as an older guy, many older men sleep on plaid blazers. Of course you must choose the right color scheme but If you find the right one(s) a nice pair of slacks, chinos, and even jeans can work.
You didn’t mention pocket squares with your suits and blazers. They are very eye catching and so many ways to fold. I just upped my game with them two years ago and they get attention and plenty of compliments
I think I'm in agreement with the selection. My disagreement is with hankerchief in pocket and loafers. That gives an old feel for me. Of course the hankerchief is for aesthetics, but seems outdated. Great video though.
Great list, thank you. Regarding your suits, are you going with straight leg at the bottom or are you cuffing them as I see many men are doing lately as the style seems to be coming back. I don’t wear suits often, but I like to be in style
You forgot: An OG MUST have a subscription to Jeff the Style OG…
Haha, agreed
I go the Chaps Guide. That's a more in depth study.
@jt.8144 both are good

Buy less, buy better.
Man, you can’t go wrong with a nice overcoat, a well made dress boot and the right scent….brother, it’s a universal language 🤷🏾♂️
Indeed!
Good morning Jeff, thank you for the shout out, you got me going shopping again . PEACE AND BLESSINGS OG.
The minimal sneaker and chelsea boots are my favorite choices for footwear
appreciate the feedback!

Chinos for sure. They’re versatile. I’m rocking Mr. Roger’s sweaters too
I’ve been watching for. Several months now and you are a source for my OG style going forward! Thank you!
My pleasure!
From a Tailored Suit to a Classic Timepiece add some Loafers. keep it Stylish !!
Yup!
Once I found this channel, my wardrobe blew up. I actually look forward to the Style OG videos.
Sneakers paired with a dress suit is a no-go for me.
OG you always come through with some of the best advice! You keep putting this goodness out there and I will most definitely keep coming back!!!
Fantastic stuff OG, one can sometimes forget the basics and need reminding before one makes a expensive mistake. The list is faultless and solid. Salute.
Couldn't agree more with your comments on the need for a 'killer suit'. Well said!
Salute!
Style OG always coming through with great style recommendations!
Wow! Magnificent .

Solid plan!
Thank you Jeffrey! You are always timely and relevant. Appreciate you!
Can’t leave the house without a watch-I’m too old to not know what time it is: figuratively and literally 😏
Tell em!
I wear a Hamilton Ventura. Gold finish with Dark Alligator band. It is very unique originally brought to market in 1957.
@@danielweatherford3243 Love the Ventura!
True.....when I leave the house without my watch 8 feel like something is missing
Awesomeness sir. Another great one
Super summary. Great recommendations
Salute OG salute we gotta keep them styles up
Good Segment! Nice belt is critical too.
Hey Jeff
Always Enjoy Your Fashion Tip Videos ..
Thank You . SALUTE O.G.
Perfect advice... spot on!!!
Great video and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Jeff, Great episode! As an older guy, I like suits for all the reasons you stated. They are easy!
Great video - subbed!
Jeff, I need a suggestion on where to get the wool trousers & blazer that doesn’t break bank but of good quality…
Salute, I agree with the tailored blazer my brother. For some reason I like the ones with the patches on the elbow. But I agree with everything you've talked about on this video. Salute

Awesome content would love if you could do one for older guys in Tropical climates
Green blazer at the 1 min mark is sharp! Think I will get one! Salute Style OG!

Salute! Nice to see you again, Jeff!
Thanks! You too!
One item I think you missed is the ascot/cravat when you want sofisitcation without the stuffyness of a tie...
As a woman, I LOOOOVE me an ascot & am always impressed by men who can pull one off! 👌
Lookin' polished, Jeff.
🫡
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Jeff...
I have a green Grandville wool coat from Schott's in NY.
The OG don't miss! Keep dropping the facts, just the facts.(In my Joe Friday voice, for those of us who is old enough to remember Dragnet!!!) 😂

A lot of clear info, better than most other sites!!
Thanks!
Salute to all my brothers of style(all races).stay informed healthy and sharp.
Essentials for us guys 40+
Thanks, Jeff! 🤝
Happy to help, bro!
A silver or or gold pinky ring, with or without stone
Salute 🫡 , The Cashmere sweater and loafers are my favorite pieces in my wardrobe collection
I have to work on my cashmere sweaters. Style OG I'm more of a loafers/oxfords type of guy. However I'm going to give the dress boots a try .
Great idea!!
Glasses & Or Sunglasses
Protects the eyes and frames the face. 👍🏽
I own a classic submariner Rolex, but I normally wear my Apple Ultra unless an event such as theater or symphony concert….
Great video, thank you
You are welcome!

Great video ( as usual ) however, the fedora is grossly underrated as a fashion piece.
I see you, you got good taste!
Great. Every time I watch I learn.
EASY on the scent men. Even after washing cloths hold a little, so be judicious.
Very informative
I wear sport jacket to church with good pair of cowboy boots and looks amazing.
Without a doubt, I learn immense amount from you about keeping it simple and stylish as man mature
Happy to hear it!
A wool scarf and /or silk scarf should accompany the overcoat, otherwise great video.
I feel you bruh, ONLY if I'm going out out.
You didn’t mention pocket squares with your suits and blazers. They are very eye catching and so many ways to fold. I just upped my game with them two years ago and they get attention and plenty of compliments
Thank You 🙏
Thank you. As a bigger man, I prefer pleated pants instead of straight-leg pants. What are some of your thoughts?
I can’t wait for a Christmas video.
Do one on Hats Jeff
What shirt are you wearing? Love the long collar. What brand is it?
Salute from Kenya!
I think I'm in agreement with the selection. My disagreement is with hankerchief in pocket and loafers. That gives an old feel for me. Of course the hankerchief is for aesthetics, but seems outdated. Great video though.
Appreciate the feedback!
Loafers never go out of style.
Yo, OG in regards to the suits I always prefer the 3 piece suit.
May I add that older or younger men should stay away from Wrangler Jeans. They give no shape, at all.
Great list, thank you. Regarding your suits, are you going with straight leg at the bottom or are you cuffing them as I see many men are doing lately as the style seems to be coming back. I don’t wear suits often, but I like to be in style
I'm curious what brand name shirt are you wearing?
Great video Jeff!!! 🫡
great tips, I loved it
Salute from France ! What about a nice scarf ?
I don't do certain loafers....like penny loafer look....that was freshman year in college
Please share your trimmer, blade used to style your beard. I am impressed with your style.
A classic leather jacket. I plan to get one soon.
You nailed it. I style have and peruse my copy of Mansyyle
Great video but another essential could be a leather jacket
Thank you so much for teaching me how too look decent
What about plain crew neck or v neck t-shirts?
Can you recommend anything that would help me looked “polished”
Bobby B checking in ✊🏾
Bravo 👏👏 so true.
I’m 27 I’m fan of 33 and 34 watch size
All great choices !
Thanks!
Being fit & rich works for me, Have a sense of humor and smile ! I never have a problem meeting women ………
I hear you about a timeless watch. But its not for me a mobile phone with a clock feature is good enough for me..
THANK YOU
Love this presentation! However, do you think loafers look good on men with big feet? I wear a 16 and loafers typically look cartoonish on me.
size 16 is tough..
@@TheStyleOG I find that lace-ups look best on these feet. Still and all, I love the look of a good loafer.
