If Catalytic Converters prevent the release of NOx from cars, how is photovoltaic smog still produced because I thought that cars were major producers of NO2
@@Mr.Smedes Ok, thank you so much! I just started preparing for the exam and its a self study lol, so your ultimate review packet and videos are helping a lot and I very much appreciate them
The Obama Cafe standards increase the efficiency of fuel, which leads to less use of gasoline, meaning less NOx emission. This is shown in Figure 1, as the efficiency of Obama CAFE is predicted to be much higher than the historical efficiency of fuel standards. A rise in the fuel efficiency of transportation vehicles means they use less gasoline, which means less NOx emissions from combustion.
Do we need to know how each of these function for the AP exam? (like how they work and what they do?) or just what pollutants they can help reduce? Like some processes are hard to remember... (great video btw...I've been watching them all, its rlly helping me self study for the apes exam)
@@ysaysaysaysa Apparently you do, I just took the 2020 practice exam 3 and there's an FRQ asking "(iv) One way that acid deposition can be reduced is by using scrubbers at coal-fired power plants to remove the pollutants that lead to its formation. Describe how a scrubber removes the pollutants that lead to the formation of acid deposition at coal-fired power plants."
Schools in 2100: Alright class. In this lesson, we will be learning how the US drove the bald eagle to extinction.
Thanks for this great video! It provided some much needed clarification on the different technologies that can reduce emissions

Great question, Mason! They reduce the release of NOx, but don't prevent it altogether.
