All 3 of these songs are still bangers to this day!!!!!!!! 🔥😎
"Mamma Mia" was their first cb after Nicole and Jiyoung left and YoungJi was added to the group after winning the reality competition Kara Project. Sadly she only did one extra cb and then all the other 3 members left the company. She carried the name of KARA since then. YoungJi is precious. For When I Move was the first time she promoted AND met with Nicole and Jiyoung.
from the dingo performance i would have thought they were lifelong friends, they seem really close as a group
@@BestFriendsReact right? Youngji said she just MET them this past July for their anniversary photoshoot but bonded with Jiyoung a lot. They seem really close.
When I Move is their first comeback without Hara (since she joined the group) as she passed away in 2019 when they were disbanded/inactive. Mamma Mia has 4 members because Nicole and Jiyoung left leaving them at 3 members until Youngji joined.
Oh ok, that makes sense, thank you
Goo Hara, I miss you.
One of the most tragic things in K-pop history
The GOATs. 2nd gen was just too damn good!
Hara (R.I.P.) promoted all the time when the group was active, it was for their recent cb the only time she wasn't present after being added to the group in 2008 with "Rock U" alongside Jiyoung. She also debuted solo and featured KARD's BM.
This perfectly encapsulates 2nd gen K-Pop
The best generation 😢
Damaged Lady was their last cb as five, as Nicole and Jiyoung left the company soon after. They returned after all these years for When I Move. Crazy. So glad they did.
I think it's awesome how some of these groups are coming back, seems like the idea of "idols only having a 7 year career" is starting to change
@@BestFriendsReact yes! In SM case, almost all of their groups will hit the 10 year career, and then the future will be different. I wish more girl groups stay together, it seems is more hard for them or the members get tired of it.
Can you believe Mr. was just a b-side? So crazy the story for it. It became the title track and then their Japanese debut (your reaction).
I didn't even realize it was a Japanese song until after the reaction, I can't believe it was a b-side!!
I'm obsessed with Mamma Mia! TYSM for reacting to it! AH~
love to see you looking up some 2nd Gen groups and history of Kpop, good job guys. Mister is better in Korean, I think. RIP Hara, this is my first visit back to KARA since Hara passing, thanks
I love Pandora song too if you want to listen ❤
"It's like the storm before the calm." That's the perfect way to describe Damaged Lady!
Even their older songs don't sound dated to me 'cause of nostalgia, I listened to KARA even before knowing what kpop was, so they have a special place in my mind. But I get what Chris was saying.
Also, you guys said that after have watched their Killing Voice and Evolution Medley those were the songs that drew your attention, so I won't be recommending any other korean release (but if you like epic sounds, listen to Pandora 🌚)...
That being said... the girls are HUGE in Japan, and their japanese discography is worth checking out (the japanese version of Mister, that you guys listened in this video, is their japan debut).
My favourites are: Jet Coaster Love, Go Go Summer and Electric Boy.
Also, their IU's Palette episode is worth checking out too.
11:53 that's the effect KARA has on everybody 😂😂 Thanks for the reaction guys!!
I plan on checking out more from them, these are the 3 I just wanted to start with . I'm really surprised I like their older stuff, normally I wouldn't I don't think, but they are so fun and talented that it's too good write off as old.
I appreciate the suggestions
You have to react to pandora such a banger
Kara, wonder girls and SNSD where the ruling girls of kpop, Along with 2ne1 and Tara. If there is a sale measurement for Japan it was set by Kara. Them BoA and TVXQ dominanted the Japanese market and basically set the trend of how you become famous in Japan, Kara in particular started gaining momentum well before they even debut in Japan, with there song honey actually charting in the low 70/80s on the oricon charts, there careers slowed in the later part of there years espically in Korea, but in Japan Kara was that kpop girl group with multiple hit songs, popular dance trends and basically successful careers across Korea and Japan. All of there songs weather dated or not are amazing, they have been through multiple lineup changes and have had some tough stuff happen to them but they are just such an amazing group, one that layed foundations for kpop to be taken to the next level. If there is a group that I would compare from 3rd and 4th gen it would be oh my girls and IVE. Both starting out relatively popular but blowing up not long after there debut year and gaining popularity in Korea and Japan.
fun fact that's the japanese version of mr (the korean one was never uploaded onto youtube by an official channel) the tale is that it was a b-side but turned into the main event of their second full album by the fans/positive reception.
KARA 😭 thanka for doing a multi reaction, their music is just great, they were definitely one of the better dance girl groups of their era especially since their music is so dancey. The fun thing about Damaged Lady is when Hara, Gyuri, Seungyeon and Youngji went on weekly idol in 2014 for mamma Mia promotions when they did the random play dance they just couldn't do it 🤣 Youngji who was literally just added in did it perfectly but the other 3 especially Gyuri the leader just struggled and they had her teach them the dance and the MCs were like uhhhh the new member is teaching you guys? 💀🤣💀🤣 That RPD was a mess, Youngji messed up the least of the 4 of them!
That's funny, sometimes you just forget a dance lol. I really like this group, and it's good timing. Having a recording set up at Chris's house means we can do a few more videos per week, so hopefully we will now have more time to visit older songs, and give us a chance to get more variety.
There is a youtube channel that has put together cover complilations for various songs that popular to cover. Mister is amongst the videos for it.
I think it's cool how many kpop covers there are, nothing is more fun than seeing one of your favorite artists cover another favorite
if you wanna do another dive into kara's past in the future i'd suggest lupin (2010), step (2011) and pandora (2012). mr was released in 2009 for context.
Thank you for the suggestions!
I miss Goo Hara - she was a star.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH;; You explore KARA's songs, I really hope you enjoy it. Thkn u sooo much for thisss♥♥
kara more reaction please!!!
If you want to continue, I would recomment "Break It", their debut single with 4 members, one that left the entertainment business completely. "Rock U", the song that came out after and changed their image 180 with new members Hara and Jiyoung. And lastly "Step" because is THAT song.
i added them to my list for them!
Mamma Mia Rocks!
Please react to Kara - Pandora & Cupid
omg yes
At 9:53. Thats Seungyeon. She is actually 34 years old now born in 1988
I think she is adorable
Wow, even when you can't pronounced their name you at least can tell the girls separately... I appreciated that....
I have always been horrible with names lol
RIP Goo
I miss you ㅠㅠ
Kara ☺️
Memories
Have you done 2ne1 marathon?
No, I'm not a big fan of them, I like a couple songs, but don't really care for the others I've heard
Miss goo hara so much
step, lupin이 찐이어요..
REACT TO STAGE MIX OF MV, IS CRAZY
haha "I'm an insomnia" :D
actually a lot of gen2 used electric guitars and there's a lot more musicality in gen2 compared to kpop nowadays imo. one of my favorite gen2 groups is aoa which I don't think you checked out yet. a lot of their songs have that band feel and they actually have a band subunit. it was around the 2016 time that kpop moved towards more trap/hiphop and noise music which turned me away but dreamcatcher pulled me back. but it's the drums that gives dc songs more of a rock and in some cases a metal vibe \:D/
kara was one of the biggest gen2 groups and was hugely successful in japan. damaged lady is somewhat of an exception in their discography. most of their other songs are similar to the other two you heard, a lot more hyper pop.
we havent checked out any aoa on the channel, but i do know a few songs and a little bit about them because i watched the first season of queendom and they were on there. I am also glad that Jimin is back and performing again.. Ill try to see what songs i know and dont and try to get some of their videos on here
you react to KARA's Japanese song that is risky bro! their japanese agency is really strict, wish you good luck!
Thank you!
Their main producers, Sweetune, infused rock/metal influences into KARA's songs. Listen to "Wanna" : ua-cam.com/video/kmBtUi7nNJ0/v-deo.html
