There might be no Peter Molyneux this time, but the fairytale style remains. No gameplay this time, but plenty of clues as to how the four player co-op dynamic is going to work.

I’m glad it got canceled, Lionsgate started making terrible decisions towards the end, the Journey was ridiculous, this looked ridiculous! They should’ve been focusing on Fable 4, not this garbage.

@@Studiosmediamilk i know your comment is old, but originally Blue Box wanted to have a game with a lots of freedom, lots of interaction and no barriers. Microsoft liked their idea and picked them up to develop it. When Peter Molyneux liked their idea a lot, he shared his view and gave some advises. Progress of development was slow at best, but since Microsoft decided to make their own console, they needed inclusive tittle for it's premiere. Lionhead Studios were working on different projects but Microsoft simply merged them with Blue Box to finish the game faster and due to that a lot of changes were made. Blue Box was irritated by Lionhead workers attitude toward their project and Lionhead was bitter about being "reduced" to aiding someone else's project. During development process, Molyneux talked a LOT about incoming game - most of the things he said were made off and not true xD He just wanted to sell the game well :) It's kinda sad cuz Blue Box original idea was more complex and sandboxy.
Me wishing the new fable trailer looked like this. That lady of the lakes character animations looked freaking epic.
i´m watching this in 2020 again and I´m still sad that i never got the chance to play it. I was so hyped for it back then :(
They should have scrapped it and made Fable 2 Anniversary instead.
Or better, a Fable II-The Lost Chapters. Pretty much to make up for that rather disappointing climax.

You get the ending (conclusion, if it's revenge you're after it never ends as you want it.), you end up with a choice just as the card says. the profisy is complete and life goes on. And everyone lived happily ever after.. or atleast the hero does

I'd rather just have a new single player fable set in a better looking Albion. I swear, they have the technology to do it now but instead they make a 4-player co-op game. I know that some people are going to like this game, but I don't know how I feel about this game yet. I haven't been excited for a Fable game since Fable 2.
fable lost chapters is the best of the series much fuller and bigger then all its followers. The game should be on PC. They probably scared to release it on PC because shitty fable III wasn't that successful
The FAQ on Lionhead's site says that you can play the game entirely single-player. The multiplayer features are only there for people who want to use them.

Sigfee I love Fable. I think if they make an updated game based of Fable TLC/Anniversary they would be making a ton of money. I honestly think TLC/Anniversary was the best in the fable franchise.
It baffles me as to how they couldn't come up with anything for this series. Fable 3 was the the beginning of the end for it when it had so much potential.
Literally they could've improved upon it so easily. Combat refinement, character creation, expansive world. In the end they didn't do anything meaningful with the series and its studio got shut down :/
It's also guilt of Microsoft, they asked Lionhead to make a kineck game and then cancelled the Fable legends which was almost finished...
Hopefully playground games do the series justice

Yes, unfortunately Lionhead disbanded, due to reasons I currently can't recall, bankruptcy I think.
Actually Microsoft just wanted their studio area for something else and thus just dropped them. The original creators have now created their own independent company called FlamingFowl and are now continuing the series themselves. Could be a chance for reviving this game yet.

9 years later and i still miss this game so much. i wanted so bad for it so succeed and be a start of a new genre. so so badly i wish it would come back. but no. we hhad to get fucked. RIP Fable Legends i will forever remember you as one of the best concepts out there.

Am I the only one excited for this? Like, don't get me wrong I'd love for them recapture the fun and whimsical wonder that was Fable 1 and 2. Fable 3 had such ambition but poor execution, and well.. I don't like to think of the Kinect one.
But still, this looks rather interesting. Cooperative play among 4 heroes against waves of baddies orchestrated by an actual villain player, who from what I've read can choose troops, traps, and more all in real time with the heroes. Sure, it's not the Fable 4 we all want, but I'd say give this a chance it has potential.

So yeah, for those unaware, about a year ago (speaking from May 2017), Microsoft canceled Fable Legends and shut down Lionhead studios. A sad ending to this franchise. I love the original Fable and really enjoyed Fable 2, though it was beginning to show big problems. Those problems came to a head with Fable 3, which was a complete disaster. However, despite Lionhead being shut down there is talk of another Fable game. Maybe what this franchise needs is a new dev team and less Molyneux hype. I look forward to what may come in the future.
How about we wait to see gameplay before we judge? So far this looks cool, fresh and intriguing to me. :] I'm willing to wait to see it in action before I cast judgment.

I would love to see a single player fable game were you customize your own hero and explore and do new missions but in the story there are more heroes and the other heroes are the ones from fable legends, you can use their same backstory, just adjust them a little for a full single player game

Fable 3 would be perfect if it kept experience orbs and growth of character. Fable 4 can be done, bit it would require major attention to detail. And to allow full customization for our hero.
No Peter Molyneux this time? After playing Fable 2 (and therefore not daring to touch the 3rd), that can only be good news. If anything it could mean a return of depth to combat and less pointless shit like overly elaborated menus and procreating. Also, if i'm short on money i'd rather be killing mobs over and over again than chopping wood. I'm a FOKKEN HERO for crying out loud :P Seriously, imho the one good thing about Fable 2 was the Dog.

Developers. Go back and replay Fable 1. There is a sense of eeriness to it; a sense of charm; a majestic feel; a STORY; and most of all... an awesome STORY that you felt connected to. That's right. Yes, the gameplay was solid and there was actually a very good balance between stats, skills, and gear... however, the game did not pride itself in only the gameplay... but rather, in all aspects of the STORY.

If you read the Q&A that Lionhead gave to give people info on Fable Legends when they announced it...You'll notice that they don't make any claims at this game being an "Dungeon Crawler" game.
The only player that will be playing the game like Dungeon Crawler is the person who plays the Villain and sets up traps and mobs for his friends to fight.
They're doing new things with Fable but going back to Pre Lost Chapters atmosphere...Magic/Steel with a Primitive Albion and a Darker fairy tale theme to it.
This is just a spin off, don't worry... Fable 4 is being worked on as we speak and it will be amazing now that Peter is gone.

@ZombieGangster Let's be real (besides Lady Grey) we all know Fable women are not hot. Heck some of them are downright ugly. My comment is mocking the expectation that people have for medieval beauty standards to be the same as today's.
However... the HEROES within Fable should be at a higher standard. The top shelf of ability and looks to match. That has been a consistent theme of Fable. The heroes are hotter than the sewer scum.
I hate that about CGI trailers. They show this amazing ice skill like at 1:48. Then you get the game, and you try the ice skill and it's a small ice ball or something freezing nothing lol.

Fable 3 wasn't horrible but it wasn't the best I feel that lion head had spent so much time ironing out the problems people had with fable 1/2 like it being to easy to get money or health and the fact the choice didn't really matter they didn't focus on the game as much

there was never any problems with Fable 1, with Fable 2 they added rifles and thought oh lets remove armor since rifles can shoot through that yet keep melee weapons and lets also keep bows which could pierce armor in the first game....Peter's logic at its finest

I've heard a few people complain about Peter Molyneux, but I thought he was the best part about Lionhead. People naturally blame the leader, but he had some incredible ideas, it's just that his team and the people behind him didn't carry them out as well as they could have. And let's not forget, the first two were fantastic! Fable III...Okay, not the best. The Journey was made to just test out Kinect really so I'm looking over that one. But let's not blame Peter for everything, because it's not entirely his fault. For that matter, we've seen nothing to suggest that Lionhead hasn't learned from their mistakes. Let's try to give them the benefit of the doubt and not judge the game before it comes out.
I thought three was really fun. Different yes , but still good fun.

I agree, Fable is a bit weird with where it wants to be. Sometimes it acts like a total joke, but then expects you to care when a character they barely developed is in trouble... I mean, go ahead, kill this Elise/Rose, I just met them.

I wish they would make it more like the first for example if your character was not strong enough to carry your sword he dragged it and Swung it slowly until you increased your strength. But the stuff with the armor looks encouraging
Jack is more like an embodiment so they can have him as far back in the past or as far up in the future as they want.
