      i'm vegan already for the animals firstly. i already drink and love rice milk. the video youre using on worldplantmilkday.com was made by SAFE/Farmwatch of dairy cruelty in New Zealand . Where the dairy/meat industry is huge and horrific - cruelty torture and purposeful abuse of cows calves and bulls is rampant - of course they are all sent to horriffic slaughter sooner or later. be vegan.

      That's bull! As stressed as you may be, your health can improve simply by eating right. And by the way, science is discovering that a lot of emotional states and diseases are directly related to diet, since the digestive system is directly connected to the brain. You can check this: the digestive system has neurons. That's why they are calling it "the second brain". So your statement is not correct. Being stressed can be partly due to a bad diet. Try plant based. It's the best.

    I was a dogmatic HCLF vegan for almost 2 years and it didn't helped me with my health issues and I felt pretty bad. I was eating way too much fruit and too many carbs and not enough fat. I changed my diet to a more balanced diet ( still vegan of course) and I feel better, more satisfied! I don't know why these doctors are sooo afraid of fat. I just don't get it. There are plenty of medical proofs that show that fat is essential and it's not as dangerous as they make it to be. Especially for young women out there... And there is too much sugar on their diets for me. What I have learned from this experience is that not everybody is the same and that there is no one diet for everybody. I agree that the vegan diet is the best, but the percentages of carbs, fat ( good fats from plants high in omega 3!) and protein should be an individual decision. So although I respect those doctors and specialist, I don't follow their recommendations anymore because they didn't work for me. This is the biggest problem in the vegan community I believe; vegans are too dogmatic about their diet just like I was before. And I regret it.

    • @lorettalaurent
      @lorettalaurent 7 років тому +2

      Because that is what matters at the end. You can generalize everything with researches and "proofs" but nothing is black and white in this world. That is why not everybody can function on one diet because we have different conditions and requirements. A bodybuilder is not going to eat the same way as you do and a diabetic person can't eat everything either and I'm not going to avoid gluten becuse there are people with gluten intolerance. This shows how different we all are and for me, a person with hormone imbalance, I need more than 5 or 10% of fat and I don't care what your "facts" have to say about it. Also, if you do some resarch you will easly find "facts" that shows that paleo diet, for example ( I'm not a paleo myself nor I recommend it because of ethics), works well for some people and helps diabetes too. And if you go even further, you will soon realize that there are many, many things that we are still investigating and science is never 100% sure about everything because it is constantly in progress; we are still learning about how our body works and science makes mistakes too. I'm not saying that everything what these experts say is an error and I would never defend the consumption of animal products; I'm just pointing out that everybody should adjust their diet to their needs and there are many ways to eat on a vegan diet. Also, I don't know how can it be but even these experts, even when they all say to eat a Whole Plant based diet, they still recommend different nutritional plans; for example, Mc.Dougall says to eat tons of carbs from starchy vegetables, almost no fat and to only supplement with B12 while dr. Fuhrman recommends to eat more fat and to take other supplements like vegan omega 3 or iodine. This is just an example. So how can it be when there are absolute "facts" available? But whatever, I think it is jus too much for some people to understand especially if you are a reductionist and you don't have the capacity of critical thinking and scepticism.

      actually I also do feel better when eating fats, not too much, but leaving them out does not work for me, so I totally relate to you and to me, as long as it`s vegan and mainly whole foods, I feel totally great about it.
      Actually if I would not eat those fats, I easily get gut problems and I know it is also because I would need to heal my gut flora (loads of antibiotics as a child plus other chemicals, so messed up there), but right now this is not the path for me (plus I am not a vegan who wants to become 100+, therefore I do enjoy vegan junk food now and then)

    I'm in my late 40s now and have fairly recently switched from 25 years of vege/vegan diet to what I eat now.... which is - fatty meats (rib eye steak, bacon, chicken thighs), butter, cheddar cheese, greek yoghurt, (All Organic grass fed, full saturated fat). Also wild caught sardines & salmon.... The ONLY vegetable/fruit matter I STILL eat is Sauerkraut (for gut health) and I eat ZERO carbs. I drink only Organic Kombucha and Sparkling Mineral Water...Result?? In the six or so weeks I have been consuming this diet, my psoriasis is virtually gone, my anxiety levels have dropped dramatically, I sleep better than I have in years, I have far more stamina, high energy all day and my mind and thought processes are sharp as, brain fog has disappeared.... Conclusion?... Do what works for you.

Ashamed and afraid that I'd die a terrible, early death. I became a vegetarian in the early 80s but only a few years ago, really got the whole food no sos thing. Miracles do happen. The best human diet for humans are the following logical points as follows . 1 - Eat whole organic plant foods from your local organic farmer friends in season . Then how to prepare these foods is a nother matter today . Eat 80 percent raw as much as you can and diversify with a rainbow diet of color at every sitting . 2- Leafy raw greens must be included in every meal . 3- Must include the forgotten foods of cultured probiotic raw condiments every day . 4- Must rotate go on and off and to take short breaks between your food choices . 5- Chewing more into a liquid chime is important for absorption . 6-Meat that is wild game and dairy that is free range land fed organic and raw must be a condiment only around 5 percent or less . Thank You Holistic Chef Barry Anderson

      at least he's honest. I hate meat eaters that try to debunk the vegan diet just to make themselves feel better. Honest meat eaters are ok. Meat eaters that admit that the vegan diet is the healthiest diet and also the most ethical way to eat are quite likeable, then the reason they don't do it themselves is probably addiction to certain foods and wanting to conform to social norms

    • @papparocket
      @papparocket 7 років тому +15

      *Gonzalez Fitness*
      Autopsy studies of accident victims show that 90% of Americans (or those who eat like Americans) over the age of 10 have fatty streaks in their aortas (the first stage of heart disease) and 100% of Americans over the age of 20 eating a meaty diet have visible plaques in their arteries. So *_everybody_* has arteriosclerosis even if it hasn't reach a clinical stage yet. So you need to change your diet not to prevent the heart disease you might develop decadesin the future but rather to treat the heart disease you almost certainly have right now.
      Oh, and we know it is the meat because when similar studies were done on accident victim and combat casualties from countries like Korea during the Korean war and rural Africa in the 1960 where the society as a whole ate very little meat, fish or eggs and no dairy. Very few had any visible sign of arteriosclerosis. Now however in industrialized Korea the rates of heart disease are skyrocketing as the Western diet drives out the traditional rice, beans and vegetable diet with animal foods used as flavoring and occasional treats.
      And a whole food plant based diet is absolutely the easiest diet to do right. All you need to do is eat a variety of whole plant foods with very little or no animal products.When you do that all the nutrients just take of themselves. You will have no worries about protein. Many people have tried and failed to design a varied whole plant food diet without added salt, oil or sugar that doesn't supply protein well in excess of what is biologically needed. And that includes fare more than adequate amounts of the essential amino acids. Whole plant foods have plenty of fat with very little of it being saturated fat. In fact your omega-3 intake will go way up. And if you avoid the refined oils your omega-3:omega-6 ratio will be fantastic.
      It is only when you start getting a lot of your calories from low nutrient density (total nutrients per calorie) foods like meat that you have to be careful because to make room for all the calories in meat you have to remove so many high nutrient density plant foods. The result is that the nutrient density of your total diet plummets when you add animal products as well as highly refined plant foods like white rice, white flour, white sugar and refined oils. So it is meaty diet that takes a lot of planning in order to not have nutrient deficiencies not a whole plant based one.

    Hmm... So, I've been plant-based for years and I've gradually seen my health deteriorate. I don't eat gluten or sugar and limit my intake of salts and oils (I feel better with some oil). Several months ago I got very sick with pneumonia (I get sick several times a year) and since then I've felt worse than I've ever felt in my entire life. I've had severe IBS for years (it started with the plants), bad skin my whole life, brain fog (cops even thought I was on drugs), sleep issues, weakness, OCD, anxiety, depression, etc. Since the pneumonia I've suffered with chronic fatigue, tinnitus, head pressure, headache, lump in my throat, dizziness, excruciatingly painful gout (I haven't been able to wear a shoe on my gouty foot for at least three months), chest pain, difficulty breathing, etc. I've been in hospitals and have seen doctors at least several times per month for years due to health issues. The only thing I haven't tried in years is adding animal-based foods to my diet (such as fish). The only relief I've found (which is barely any) is giving up grains and starches. I feel like I am stuck like this (it's been absolute hell) and, consciously, I don't really want to go on because I'm just wasting away, unable to work, exercise, or do almost anything. I've reached out for help but have only been shunned by doctors (one even told me not to come back) and by the plant-based community. Food is now incredibly boring and I don't even want to eat anymore. Basically, since going plant-based life has sucked tremendously and I'm about to end it if I can't get any help.

    Hana mentions at 12.12 'eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like poor person'... why is this? wouldnt we be sleeping for 8 hours, normally there will be a gap of 14 hours between dinner and breakfast so i would have thought dinner would have been a big meal.

      seaweeds are very very rich in iodine, you can eat some sometimes, not sure if it's necessary though but it's a good way to get some

      If you are eating WFPB diet, these unprocessed foods have almost no sodium. So adding some iodised salt to your meal at serving will be perfectly safe. Your salt intake will be well within the healthy range. Good luck sleeping

    Why didn't they include low carb high fat moderate protein diet experts? The Ornish study and others did not isolate meat, etc.. so could not prove the benefit of an entire plant based diet. Maybe that's a good thing because they will likely end up metabolically sick like so many do.

    right, humans did not have dairy for eons. but, as i learned in Lesotho, as a US Peace Corps volunteer, early humans nursed until they were 3-4 years old or longer. The main problem with cows milk are the natural growth hormones, which means that young women should not consume dairy at all until they are completely finished with puberty. They already have enough. and adding in more just causes breast cancer. I'm a grown man and will never give up Parmesan cheese or free range, organic eggs. only self-loathing people give up Parmesan.

    There is only one proven way of determining the healthiest diet, and that's by populations that have lived it for generations. And none of them are vegan. That has to tell you something. Show me a 100 year old, low fat (10% or less), whole food plant, based vegan and I might start believing the hype.

      Michael Parish Betty White is vegan and she's in her 90's

    • @cutabove9046
      @cutabove9046 7 років тому

      Betty White became a VEGETARIAN at the at of 61 and a vegan 2 years ago. So, up until two years ago she ate lots of animal products. There is a big difference between someone who has been a vegan for life and those who converted and been vegan for a relatively short time. There aren't many life long vegans. Let's not forget that Americans living on their SAD diets make it 40 or 50 years before disease shows up. It would take that long before defects in a vegan diet would show up. Take Dr. McDougall as an example. He's been low fat, low protein vegan for just over forty years. In 2015 at the age of 67 he fainted in his bedroom and fractured two vertebrae in his lower back, also fractured his hip and ended with a spiral fracture in his upper leg bone. That speaks of terrible bone health. You'd expect to see that kind of damage in a motorcycle accident or taking a drop down a long flight of stairs, not fainting on your way to the bathroom. If you want to read that story in his own words go to his web site and read the June 2016 issue of his newsletter. The reality is that the best diet on the planet has been proven in various Blue Zones around the world. They all include modest amounts of animal products, oils, or lard and plenty of vegetables. Oh, I'm a vegan simply because I don't like meat, milk, I can't stomach fish and I find cheese disgusting because it smells like old gym shoes. But, I've only been vegan for six years.

    • @avocadogirl731
      @avocadogirl731 7 років тому

      Michael Parish that's fair, and that is the problem, people aren't eating a "modest amount" of animal products, most people base their meals on anima products and not enough vegetables/fruits

    • @cutabove9046
      @cutabove9046 7 років тому

      That's absolutely true. And, what they do eat outside of animal products is loaded with white flour, sugar, oils and salt. Still, it's amazing that you can survive for 60 or 70 years on this junk. Shows you just how little nutrition the human body needs to stay alive.

      How exactly have they been debunked? By telling you how healthy people are by eating fats indiscriminately? I don't believe a word these "studies" by the FDA say. They are in cahoots with the big food, big pharma and big medical companies who pay MILLIONS to lobby for their businesses to profit from your health. We are millions of people. To them we are like ants. One dead ant doesn't make a difference in the world to them. The more we are, the more consumers they get, the less important it is to keep us healthy and alive. Pretty cold mentality if you ask me.
