Best description I’ve heard of the Imperial Guard is by Zanny
“Being in the guard is the equivalent of receiving an M4 then told to kill Godzilla”
Never forget that the planet broke before the Guard did
"Being in the Imperial Guard is like giving marines M4's and telling them to kill godzilla because godzilla has all the crayons and beer".

We have yet to see the warhammer amazon tv series. By the way, on a seperate note, the 2nd season of the rings of power came out.
To be fair… that was not out yet… or else it would be lower…
Fun fact: Warhammer 40K Is LITERALLY where the term "Grimdark" comes from and its first use. From that opening blurb "In the grim dark future, there is only war" bit at the end.
40k is is equal parts grimderp and grimdark really.
@@fadillangston9797 what do you mean, the daemonculaba is an absolutely integral part of 40k that is no way shape or form a poorly disguised pregnancy fetish.
Oh, let us not forget the VERY canonical Slaaneshi titty dimension (no I will not elaborate).
@@ashendude3394 I mean the daemonculaba thing was a direct copy from the Dune series, so you can't really blame GW for coming up with that
Ugh no? Like WH 40k isn't even first Warhammer
The problem with the debate over the females custodies is that there are no female custodies by law of the lore the reason the Warhammer 40 K shows is not happening now is because Amazon wanted to change the lore to allow female custodies because the sisters a battle, we’re not good enough because they don’t actually care about the lore
So can we acknowledge that the man turned a hour long lore video into a two hour long reaction. Props.
That’s why it’s called “transformative content”.

At least he is adding to the conversation, unlike some reactors.
Don't forget the ultra Marines are also known as the ultra smurfs, and guilliman is papa Smurf himself
A note on the assassins. The Imperium has a lot of soldiers, true but it also has many enemies and a lot of teritory to defend, they are often stretched thin. If one person can take care of an issue then why send an army that is needed elsewhere?
Common use for the Vindicare: You'll see them in part 2, but orks are mostly happy killing each other. From time to time one particularly big/mean ork will dominate the other tribes in his area and start crusading towards human planets. This almost always devolves into a massive meat-grinder, alternatively you can post spy satalites around ork worlds and as soon as you see the constant infighting stop send a Vindicare in, One really large caliber round later and the orks are back to infighting and the problem is averted.
Common use for the Eversor: Not all worlds fall to aliens/chaos, sometimes the native humans just start questioning on whether or not they really *need* the Imperium, you could send a military force to "keep the peace"... or you can send in a drugged up John Wick and tell him those people down there killed his puppy. People will quickly put together that the homes being turned into charnel houses were owned by those critical of the most benevolent Imperium and will hopefuly stop associating with such malcontents from now on.
If I remember correctly, weren't they the ones that killed the major Tau leader Ethereal Aun'Va?
Vindicare - we need one target dead, no collaterals.
Eversor - We need something to die, we do not care about collaterals.
Callidus - We need someone to die and no one should be aware they are even dead.
Culexus - We need someone to die and die horribly in fear and pain... and they are possibly a psyker so we sent an anti-psyker to rip their soul away.
Oh, his least favorite son betrayed him first. This least favorite son, and his sons, turned The Emperor's favorite son against him.
There have been theories that he knew whoever he made warmaster would fall to chaos if probably not the details, so Horus was likely not his favorite son but was the right mix of skilled and expendable.
tbh I don't think Biggie E hated Lorgar that much. He resembled Big E the most, and was Malcador's favorite. Most disappointed would probably be more accurate (until maybe Magnus screwed up)

Brickster expanded on the "innocence proves nothing" in the Inquisitor video, by pointing out that while most warp daemons, upon getting a new body, go "sweet, New toy!" and wreck shit, some can just chill in the back of your mind, only taking over at key points to perform subtle sabotage, all you know is that you blacked out, and considering what your job is, that would be 100% understandable
If you even approach being a suspect, it means you're not innocent enough... thus innocence proves nothing.
"A plea of innocence is guilty of wasting our time"
Pausing on Bricky's explanation of the Lasgun right before he said it sucks was hilarious.
35:36 The reason is pretty much that the Guard outnumber the Space Marines to a frankly silly degree. There are countless trillions of guardsmen across the galaxy, and total casualty rates of billions per day is considered all well and good, but Space Marines are so much more rare abd expebsive to make and maintain.
My favorite description of the ratio of Guard to Space Marines is this: "If the Space Marines are the tip of the spear, then the Imperial Guard is the rest of the spearhead... and the spear shaft... and the guy holding it."
And the armor the dude wears. And all the equipment
And his belt, and the extra weapons he may have, and the quiver

Regarding the Mechanicus and the Machine Spirits, it's largely left to the individual whether to believe it or not. There is some evidence that Machine Spirits exist and that the Mechanicus' rituals keep them content, but at the same time many of the Mechanicus' rituals look suspiciously similar to regular maintenance needed by machines to operate.
I've always taken the view that the machine spirit is just integrated AI leftover from the dark age and Incorporated into all the tech. And we never get a clear indication of what their prayers entail, but it is hinted at a few times that the "language" used in prayer etc might be effectively binary. So I feel like it's most likely that the "prayers" are actually code that nobody fully understands that orders the AI in the machine to do whatever it does. It makes sense if you think that source code for lost tech would effectively just look like an ancient language and would carry mystical undertones if you didn't know where it came from, only that when you say certain words to your gun it starts working.
I think that makes more sense than an actual machine spirit permeating their tech. But who knows what the hard canon is on the subject.
to add to this: even in current day, people find bizzare solutions to fix shit
exhibit A: "close the window, you're letting the wi-fi out", a screenshot of a League of Legends chat
exhibit B: percussive maintenance
exhibit C: ask any maintenance engineer about weird fixes they figured out
My headcanon says if the entities of the warp can be born of a mass belief or psychic echo of a large group that coalesces into a sentient being, there’s absolutely nothing that states that there isn’t a significant chance of there eventually being a ‘spirit of technology’ being born in the warp.
Thank God Emperor we have Rogue Trader game where they show that Machine Spirits definetly exists and they are simular to AI
Machine Spirits might only exist cuz Techpriests believes it so, and anything that is proper intelligence is pretty much just an AI and is handwaived away with 'ahh no it is not abominable intelligence, it's a hallowed ancient machinespirit!'. XD
(About lasgun)
saw a quote that I cannot find anymore about lasgun that went something like this:
"Humble lasgun, perfect for obliterating 99% of enemies of mankind with ease. Unfornutaly, solider, we are up against the last 1%"
So it's less that Astra militarum get's sharpened sticks and gets told to rush B and scream "URAA"... like 1941-43 soviet union
It's more of... well we cannot out tech them, we cannot out manuver them... what we can do... is out produce them, and while we are at it do those tank neeed to be made 100% acording to the specs?... I am just saying that if we brought it down to 80% we could crank 5 as many of them... so yah 1944-45 soviet union
I think that quote was bricky I believe.
Once you clear the broad strokes of Warhammer, PancreasNoWork does really good videos of specific characters and factions across both 40K and Warhammer Fantasy. Heavily suggest him.
The tricky part about killing the emperor is that he is the beacon everyone uses for warp travel. Which means everyone loses contact with everyone again like in the age of strife, only it’s worse because everyone is at war with even more people these days. Plus nobody knows how long it takes for the emperor to respawn. It could be like the avatar where it happens instantly, a year and a day like demons, or 100 years.
Also, if he dies, a literal new eye of terror will open on Terra
+ Vulcan's mega bomb will go off, destroying like half of Solar system
Also, it's not clear that anyone in universe is even aware that he's a perpetual or what that entails. So they are just doing the only thing they can as far as they know.
Plus many worlds are oriented towards specific tasks like forge and hive worlds
Many of these worlds cant exist without outside supplies so they Will quickly die out

1:43:01 that right there is why for some Female Custodes is such a hot topic because the way they went about it basically side stepped the Sisters of Silence in regards to importance and we only got one new model that doesn’t even represent the lore change. Just leaving the feeling that it was something changed just for the sake of making a change.
It's that and the community manager, with no correction from GW, saying that there have always been female custodes despite every piece of lore in every book saying that they're males. It's a grossly clumsy retcon and could have been easily been much less of an issue if they had said that they had recently started taking female recruits.
Its a mess right now thats for sure but i can atleast understand why they dident wanna use the Sisters of Silence as they dont speak and a mute character in a tv series can be problematic sometimes if not done correct. But there resoning for avoiding the Sisters of Battle was just brain dead. Too religious? Do they even know what universe they are stepping into.
Yep. Shafting genuinely cool female combatants in favor of a tokenist retcon that dimminishes the flavor of the faction for the sake of "diversity."
Their handling of the controversy was akin to pouring gasoline on the fire.
@@RocRolDis I mean, even taking female recruits raises an in-universe issue because Big E didn't want to replace humanity with transhumanity, and a breeding population of demigods is INCREDIBLY at risk of leading to that. There's in-universe reasons to not do it at all, but yes new female recruits would at least have been LESS of a firebomb to the community.
The biggest mistake though is from a business perspective. The lore is the only thing that makes GW's businessmodel WORK. 3D printing is cheaper than GW products, so brand loyalty based on their lore is the only reason they can stay in business. This controversy is going to cost them customers, and they can't afford to lose them.
Then they raised their prices. Again.
It's like watching a monkey shoot itself in the foot.

Obligatory response: "Cadia Stands!"
What I REALLY like and actually APPRECIATE here is how he just dives eagerly into some deep and heavy lore, excitedly... But then often pauses and expounds on a topic a bit, showing that he honestly gets it, and ever dives a little philosophical into it all.
That... that honestly is something of a measure of sharpness and quality that this old nerd sees fading away in the modern world. Hold onto that glitter of brightness in those eyes, Nux. Thumbs up.
Nux, the emperor doesn't want to die yet. If he dies now then a massive Warp Storm he's constantly holding in check since sitting on the throne will tear open a second Eye of Terror right on Terra.
The Eye of Terra. Sounds pretty cool, not gonna lie.
And there is also the Talisman of Seven Hammers, which is a dead-man switch on the Golden Throne that will obliterate Terra and at least a good chunk of no of the system to purge it from being taken or consumed by Chaos. Either way, if the Emperor dies, the Astronomicon goes with him and any & all human FTL travel becomes nearly impossible.
I mean, the Cicatrix Maledictum is getting a bit lonely there
Wouldn't him sitting on the throne cause that warp storm?
I mean terra and its immediate surroundings are under his control(which is why the 4 chaos lords haven't been sending hundreds of millions of strikes that they like to do.), and it should be growing bigger due to all the souls and deaths at the center of said storm to keep him alive, and he also was stopped mid experiment on his own webway to work around the warp to travel, which was all planned by tzeentch indirectly to cause Neoh (Big E) to become injured and put on said throne, because the chaos lords couldn't directly or indirectly effect things near Big E without him beating the shit out of them and taking their lunch money.
Even while a half a galaxy away and in several layers of the warp, or even in a Chaos lords domain the chaos lords do not dare act overtly, because Big E has, can, and will reach over and throw soul hands with them and win unless 3 and even 4 of them focus on blocking him, depending on how close to Big E they are and how willing Big E is to do something. Essentially they couldn't kill John wick after torturing and drugging his dog just to force him to end the dog himself, then they (indirectly) crippled him trying to end him(best case scenario for the chaos lords), and yet he comes limping at them with a will to take one or more of them with him and they manipulate his own family to chain him down to the bed for him to heal... and yet he can and will jump out a window to shank them if they dare throw a brick through his window.
And the only reason all the chaos lords don't jump him together is because all of them will be permanently injured/weakened or outright killed, and then the others will try to end them by snapping up whatever they have in the warp while they are weak. A perfect stalemate, but one that will end with Big E throwing hands with a fury that will instill fear in the surviving chaos lords.
@@lonespartan1216 Your comment seems to say a lot of different things, and I can't divine the point of the latter half, so I'm going to focus on just the first.
The storm he's holding back was caused by the attack on Terra, and because his presence destroys Kaos the sacrifices shouldn't be making it grow. The best thing that could happen right now is one of his psyker sons to sit on the throne to hold it until he can pull his soul fragments together, and fix the Warp problems on Terra. Magnus or Lorgar (if they managed to be redeemed like he plans) would be the best choices, but Corvus and maybe Leman or Jaghatai would likely work if the emperor could do it quickly.
“Meta this, meta that. Have you ever meta woman!?” Bruh 😂

SOB are so much cooler than custodes imo
“There is no lore saying Custodians are X, Y, or Z, because until very recently, there was no Custodian lore at all. That's why I'd be fine with female Custodians (and the models would look badass). Anyone saying it breaks the lore is lying and/or wrong, because we were actually in the meetings and sending the emails discussing the invention of said lore, and there was literally nothing in the old lore that weighed comprehensively (or at all) either way. I can think of reasons it would make sense. I can think of reasons it wouldn't. But it's a very minor point.” - Aaron Dembski-Bowden
@@Enixon869That's cool. Just says GW doesn't have any idea about the contents of their public works, which actually clears up a lot in retrospect.
They really, really should have used this as an opportunity to reboot the Sisters of Silence into relevance. Say Guilliman did it, they're still gonna be the quiet types even if they're no longer required to be mutes. We could use some cool female characters who are like that, but are always worth listening to when they do speak and cutting through everyone else's bickering when necessary by being the creepy blank in the room. And Guilliman is utilitarian enough to get away with it. Give them some new armor and gear, new lore, etc.
1:34:24- He's underselling them there. A newly made custodian could take on 5 veteran space marines and most likely win.

Nux is really shooting for the title of Grand Lore-Master.
1:18:13 The problem with female Custodians is that the Custodes were an all-male force for the last 30+ years, and the small Piece of fluff in the Custodes codex was not only the first time a female Custodian was mentioned EVER and the way Games Workshop responded to the lore nerds like myself after raising the question as to why female Custodians are suddenly a thing now was just “They were always there!”
They could have done something similar to Belisarius Caul’s creation of the Primaris Astartes and said he found some optimization in the process of creating a Custodes that allowed for a wider range of candidates, that would have been somewhat understandable and consistent with the lore if they truly wanted to write more women into the setting.
But no, they insulted the fan’s intelligence and brought into uncertainty one of the most CONCRETE facts about one of the most important forces in the imperium. That is why people are angry.
On top of shafting the SoS even more because they aren’t allowed to have nice things even one of their few named characters got shafted and killed in the dumbest way possible
It's because of that retardation that I automatically will not play against anyone with female chickstodes, I will not read any books or pay for any material that waves that crap around either.
Same with how Fallout lore was being butchered in the TV show.... just anything that comes from that point on is just not gonna be canon for me, not interested in any further purchases for that setting.
Was already iffy with the Caul's Spacemarine-spacemarines. out of the blue and very poor introduction of them to legions like, well the Dark Angels for example.

@@marmyeater oh look, got a little bitch triggered lmao
@@Kebin13Since a century or so we tend to distinguish between our minds and our bodies. However these are inherently intertwined. Higher pain does affect our ability to reason etc. In the entire down of human history we had a holistic point of view most of the time. Even more so as we also did find members of the same family guilty at times. This has also some merit as by punishing you want this crime not to happen again. If the reason for the offense was sociological and not genetic, which is most of the time, then for the sake of society it might be practical to get rid of all potentially tainted people. So now I'm going back on point. Even if your mind did nothing wrong, you had no ill intent and were simply manipulated you still did the deed. Not others but specifically you. As a deterrent for others and as to not getting into details why you did the act it might be beneficial to get rid of you. This line of thought is simple to follow if you use just secular reasoning and try to see people not as sacred individuals but as complex systems interacting with one another.
The sisters of silence end the custodians where are the duality of man and women literally defending the soul of humanity. It's the reason I have an issue with the lore and the way it was changed was implement with no regard to that. It was a beautiful statement inside of this world that both men and women were needed to truly fight against chaos. Yet with the inclusion of female custodians that metaphor is destroyed. It is a sad treatment of a once very unique story.
Well, I disagree.
If you look at some of the earliest material written about the Sister of Silences, they not the " duality of men and woman protecting the soulof humanity. " They blank Sister of battle. If you look in the adventure on the black ship in several sister of battle novel, well, it right there.
It not until the writing of the Horus Heresey, when the Custodies went to war, did the Sisters of Silence role " changed"
While I can understand the duality, that can be determined by roles and abilities, not just gender. A brother of silence and a female Custodian will do the same.
@@woaddragon I can agree with that sentiment but that isn't what is being shown. The change was unceremoniously dumped on us in a side story on a codex. Then given the 1984 treatment that this has always been. It treated lore and fans of it with disrespect. The change could have happened male sister of silence female custodians all could happen and exist with care and reason. Yet what we got was something clearly done for political reason with a half-assed story it added nothing for the change of gender or inclusion at this point.
Look at the changes to the necrons as a great example. Here we had a relative unknown with a simplistic backstory. One that was totally rewritten for the sake of the story and as such we got a much more well-rounded and flushed out faction. That further expanded the world. It might be they find a way to do that as well with custodians. I am not writing off the possibility but the way the introduction was handled has most definitely undercut that hope.
@@WS-nh3qe I can agree that the lore dump could be handled.better, but it not like massive changes of the lore had been dump down in indifference before. I can say it is political because it is a change that doesn't add anything to the faction. Breaks the story of duality with the sisters of silence as I said. Has received no model support. The immense and immediate attack on those that raised objects. The call everyone who disagree or was disappointed with the disrespect sexist despite the representation already in the setting. I mean I can go on but the point boils down that it seems that there was no reason for the change except to placate a political ideology as it went against existing lore without adding any significance to the faction.
Unless you have a reason for the change beyond that. Which I would be happy to hear.
As a 40k lore lover and foreverstudent, it's so dope to see you react to my favorite setting. I know most what you watch already and enjoy seeing someone else take it in, but I also learn things sometimes watching your reacts. May the Emperor bless you Librarian Nux. The Emperor protects those who are worth his vigil.

Simple: the Emperor manage to trick the Mechanicus into believing that he himself was the Omnisaiah after demonstrating a level of mechanical expertise that far surpassed their best. So technically they do worship the Emperor in a roundabout way. So long as that's the case, and the Mechanicus provides their materials to the Imperium, I imagine that the Ecclesiarchy is willing to be a little lenient. It's sort of like the way that the 3 Abrahamic religions still worship the same God despite being different faiths and giving Him different names.
And yes, Machine Spirits are legitimate things, especially when dealing with the big mechs an titans.
Specially when you have literal human brains installed to process data and do stuff, because you cannot risk having AI.
As an Imperial Guardsman, seeing a Space Marine would be just about the worst thing imaginable. Because even if they're on your side, it means you're probably about to become part of a rounding error in that part of the battlefield
Nah seeing a gray knight is mu h worse because even if you survive the battle your just going to be put down
Depends on the chapter, what enemy you're against, etc. Salamanders? you're good. Grey Knights? well you're lucky if just brainscrubbed and made into a servitor. Minotaurs? oh god, you poor thing...
Xenophobic implies the fear of aliens is irrational, but after seeing some of the aliens it seems pretty rational to me
Well, yes and no.

Really, xenophobia can be translated as fear of the different- alien cokes from Latin 'alius' which literally just means 'other' and alienus which means 'belonging to another'. It's a fear of othe other, the different, the "not like us". And, considering how the Imperium treats most mutants as well as actual alien races, and non-Imperium humans, thst really makes sense.
Fun fact about the Imperial Guard: You are considered a veteran if you survive a single battle.
aaaaactually I think it's if you survive your first deployment in active warzone.
@@kinagrillisn't that essentially the same thing
@@jebus42069 No, one is a single battle, the other is finish a deployment and survive for next deployment.
Who's gonna be the one to tell Nux that the Adeptus Mechanicus are also technically worshipping a prisoned/sleeping xeno god as well. A Necron god at that.
Void Dragon! :D
You don't need the snipers to deal with the Eversor, cause when his mission is complete, he explodes
High a little correction the explosion is only activated if they die otherwise they do get picked up if possible and put back in cryo
actually when he dies, a binary super-explosive goes fusion in his body and takes out a sizable area around the assassin in micro-sun for a nano-second.
Means as long as the Eversor gets within that range, their mission is a success, cuz you dead even if you get the assassin killed before within full on melee range XD
Anyone else want Nuxanor to do a Judge Dredd impersonation when he mentions he wants all the Lore?
Nuxanor = I AM THE LORrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeee

He was like no cadet they'd ever seen
A man so hard, his veins bleed ice
When he speaks, he never says it twice
They call him Judge, his last name is Nuxanor
So break the lore and you'll wind up dead
Truth and justice, what he's fighting for
Judge Nuxanor the man, he is the lore
Drokk it!
Saying “boob armor is heresy” is heresy -The Emperor (probably)
I would love to see Nux react to Isyander & Koda's Warhammer 40k deep dive content. Isyander is a really good presenter and takes the stance of being the "state-mandated hype man" for whatever faction/character he's talking about that episode.
The in Lore explanation given by a Imperial Guard Commander on why the Lasgun is so weak is that, 'in the past 10k years of its service, it has wiped from existence all those enemies that can resist it'
In essence stating that 'we are only weak, because only the strongest has survived the Guardsman and his Lasgun'
Becoming an Imperial Knight player is also a very good way to march around pretty much every human faction in 40k. Bricky didn't mention this but Freeblade Knights can join up with pretty much any faction and fight alongside them with promises of money and glory. On the other side, Dreadblades can too. Chaos Knight Houses can even get them demons to accompany them instead of just marching around with cultists or chaos space marines.
Three problems with the entire "just let the emperor die" thing, 1:there is an active warp portal in the basement of the palace only kept shut by the emperor so he bites it and daemons overrun Terra, 2:there is no way to predict when or maybe even where he might "respawn" & 3:he had Primarch Vulkan install an extra potent exterminatus bomb in the golden throne just in case he dies so earths populatgion doesn't suffer too much(?).
Hey Nux,
The assassins is to send a message. Planetary govenorn stepping out of line, send an assassin after him to kill him in a certain way to send a message to the rest of the planet's nobility.
"Don't get any funny ideas or heretical ambitions".
Also there is an entire temple (Vanus Temple) dedicated to data warfare, they kill you by an accident like delaying repairs on an elevator, causing a leakage to slowly rust the the lift engine, and in 10 years from now you are calculated to be the one to be in the elevator when the cable finally snaps. yeah.
Nux descending into the eye of Terror that is the Warhammer lore makes me so happy
In the the video game Inquisitor, later in the story, your character is trying to understand why they don't have memories of certain events.
It is revealed that they decreed Exterminatus and because they couldn't handle the trauma of killing a planet, they had their memory wiped.
15:32 The best way I've seen The Imperium explained is that they succeed not because of their actions but in spite of them. Do not assume because the universe is in unending war that imperium is utilitarian. It's basically a Feudalistic Ethnostate, where one the it's most important wars was a rebellion fought because the IRS wasn't getting it's taxes because the sector they were taxing was fighting off three continuous invasions.
Everyone is irredeemably evil and I love it!
You can't call anything that big an "ethnostate" with a million worlds and thousands, if not tens of thousands of years of genetic drift and cultural change every which way, world to world. The Imperium of Man is an extremely diverse feudal empire, which often creates Austro-Hungarian Empire levels of dysfunction in what can vaguely be defined as "conventional" military actions due to sketchy logistics, culture clashes, and various authorities butting heads. This is a routine problem in lore. When it works, it works, but it usually doesn't.
@@crowe6961 ethostate in so far as 'human' is an ethniciity,

@@captainslender12 Human isn't an ethnicity, mate, it's a species, examples of human ethnicities in 40k would be the Tanith, Catachan, Cadians, Armageddon Steel Legions, Kriegsmen, Vallhallans, Mordians, you'd be hard pressed to find two worlds within the Imperium that are culturally identical to each other. Due to this, the Imperium isn't an ethnostate.
@@Princess_Celestia_ I'm aware myself that the imperium doesn't fit the definition of an ethnostate or that human is not an ethnicity. The point of the original comments use of ethnostate, and my own statement, is that for comparison purposes and overall discrimination the Imperium is much like an ethnostate.
For accuracy one should probbaly say something like 'speciestate' but that isn't a thing in reality and would not have the associated connotations of racism or discrimination. One could also have used 'human supremacist' to describe it but again it doesn't paint quite the same picture.

Mechanicus wise it’s not as simple as they just make all the stuff.
The mechanicus itself it’s divided into dozens of factions. One of them is that the belief that the emperor is the omnisiah. So a big faction still do worship him.
It’s not faction, one of a part of a Mars treaty, which regulates mars/terra(mechanicus/imperium) relationship states that mechanicus agree that emperor is avatar of god machine(omnissiah) and that’s a reason why mars is somewhat subservient to imperium, yet enjoys insane autonomy. Under mars treaty every tech priest is UNTOUCHABLE by any imperial jurisdiction short of inquisition, and even inquisition still is very wary of prosecuting them without very solid proof, and without some extreme circumstances. They usually will just trade them back to mechanicus, with a naughty list of priest action, so fabricator general can judge him with his authority within priesthood and on their own terms.

_"There is no such thing as a plea of innocence in my court. A plea of innocence is guilty of wasting my time. Guilty."_ - Lord Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov
The imperial guard are like children with flashlights pointing around in a pitch black room after being told demons boogeymen are in there
Inquisitor: I see fellow guardsman. Demons you say. Now now. Let us go and discuss about it to this nice and cousy alleway over here.....
Don't tell him about the White Shields.
And those demons are *very much* in there.
Except, the flashlight quickly kill like 80% of factions. It's just that 20% that have to get outnumbered
luckily, most enemies of mankind are made of shadows
I'm at the assassin portion, Nux would be a great Commissar "What are assassins for ? JUST SEND IN 500 000 GUARDSMEN "
Also inquisitors do have a lot of power but certain behaviours (mass collateral damage for example) are frowned upon and they do police themselves and they’re quite strict when they do.
And of course, if you're trying to boss around a space marine chapter in the wrong tone, you might just "go missing".
If you want to look into some niche topics for 40k, I’d definitely recommend WesHammer’s video (he’s the guy who made the timeline) on what every faction eats. It tells you a lot about what the factions are like and some of it would definitely surprise you.
1:42:43 I love how nux forgets that steel is hard and is very difficult to penetrate with more steel.
Yeah. Added irony is that picture links to Shadiversity's video on it where he points out that boob plate is not only viable but there is historical precedent that had there been female knights, there likely would have been boob plate.
Nux: "Imagine your existence being just a statistical number."
Me: "Haha, just like in real life, you mean?"
31:57 The main reason why the Imperium was akways so xenophobic was that bsck during the Dark Age of Technology, humanity was the uncontested greatest civilization in the physical galaxy, second only to the Eldar, who were too busy debauchery-maxxing to really care and whose tech could stop any outside threats. Himanity had either made alliances, conquered, or neutralized any alien power it came across, and when the AI decoded to screw everything up, it wasn't just Humanity that suffered for it, it was the entire non-Eldar galaxy. Countless species and civilizations likely were crippled or wiped out in the conflict before a grand alliance of various human and alien factions managed to put an end to the chaos. However, by then, humanity had heen crippled and combined with the Warp vecoming more unstable and psykers and demons popping up everywhere, many alien species who survived the AI galactic war would blame humanity for being the cause of the damage and want to get revenge. There were also many other aliem species who were previously surpressed or conquered by humanity in the past who would want to get back at them, and those who just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to prey on the now-weakened humans.
Thus, whenever humans and aliens onteracted after the Dark Age of Technology, it usually resulted in a pretty shit time for any humans involved. Therefore, by the time that the Imperium started to properly get going, the human species had been generationally traumatized into viewing aliens with paranoia and hatred, and it made more sense for them to just asume that the aliens are all hostie instead of risking being betrayed again. Of course, thete wrre some aliens who were just minding their own business, and even some ehi made alliances and integrated with human remnant civilizations, but to the Imperium, they couldn't take any chances.
It's because humanity needs to. There's Megadeath spiders, there's maggot-men creatures, there's the necrons, the eldar and their S&M cousins, the Orks, just about any primitive-species out there going chaos worshippy, and of course the Tyranids.
There's a nice quote in one of the Dawn of War Games from either an inquisitor or some other unit. "A plea of innocence is guilty of wasting my time"
And a similar one from the Librarian (Space Marine Psyker): "There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt"
One of my favorite lines that really tells you all you need to know about the Inquisition is from Inquisitor Lord Fyodor Karamazov: "There is no such thing as an innocent man in _my_ court. A plea of innocence is _guilty of _*_wasting my time!"_*
The Imperial Guard. When everything else in the universe is a genetically and cybernetically enhanced supersoldier, an alien with technology so advanced it's functionally indistinguishable from magic, literal demons from actual Hell, or an intergalactic eating machine, these men and women take to the field with nothing but a flak jacket, a glorified laser pointer, and _balls of steel._
Bricky uses a lot of memes, so I wouldn't take what he says as actual lore. But he does cover most factions in a single video.
I mean he kind of did get betrayed by his least favourite son too… Peter Turbo.
I think Lorgar was his least favorite on account of the whole "worshipping Big E" thing, and the fact that he was the least efficient Primarch. Your point still stands about least favorite betraying him though.

@jamesfreeman3617 yeah, that's what heard from some sources out there. Thank you for that additional info.
On the topic of 'boob-armor', it 'guiding the blade to the heart' would be meaningless as the armor is made of metal. If a blade is going to cut through plate armor, the armor wasn't going to protect you anyways. There are also examples in history, while not boobs, are male breasts, such as worn by the Romans to show off their masculinity by adding pecks and a six-pack. A good counter-point could be 'it could help it get to your neck', but neck protection can be easily added, such as a bevor.
Secondly, there are many armors that are impractical that have been worn due to aesthetics or ideologic reasons. (shlong amor being a good example).
“Why can’t he be betrayed by his LEAST favorite son?!”
I mean, he kind of was. Horus was the exception: the other Traitor Primarchs had some pretty legitimate beef with Big E.

in older lore the planet even managed to avert tyranid infestation, integrating some tyranid offshoots into its ecosystem.
It's worth noting that the Enperor started the anti-xenos mindset ewrly in the great crusade as he saw that there were legitimate threats to humanity among the Xenos races and just just decided to generalise for ease, thus guaranteeing that all Xenos will be potential threats.
The Emperor maybe could have taken a more Tau mindset and had a human centric collective Imperium. I mean the Emperor pretty much beleives in a greater good for humanity.
One major thing about the 1 thousand people a day…they aren’t just any ordinary people, it is 1 thousand psykers a day! This matters as even though there are more psykers in this time period, they are still very rare. Something along the lines of 1 psyker to 250,000 non-psykers.
The reasom for the quote "innocence proves nothing" is because you maybe innocent, but corrupted by chaos, infected by gene-stealers, a unknowingly sleeper agent etc. And if they let you go because of it. The damage you could do could destroy a whole sector of space.

The inquisitor that nuked many planets for the tiranyds to dont get bigger, while technically true, he plan was to make them clash with the orks on a planet being them both basically have infinite numbers, problem is, tiranyds get stronger as more biomass they get, and orks get stronger, the stronger you fight them back, basically he expected to have them both annihilate each other, and what really happened was that both got so massive it is a enormous problem now, so not only they lost many planets, that the two problems he tried to solve, got even worse, an absolute genius
