Every night 😂 I love how long they are too, helps me sleep knowing it won’t just end. And the voiceovers are great! Super relaxing. I’ve watched way too many of these but it’s my current fix and I learn something new. I just go back to what I remember last then wait to sleep. I’ve dreamt of most longs and queen at this point 😂
Fall of Civilizations Podcast is another good one. The only problem I've encountered with sleeping to these documentaries is that I inevitably wake up in the middle of a Nazi's biography! My recommended video feed is now just a bunch of war criminals!

I'm huge in the ancestry and I'm huge into ancestry and I'm also a history buff. I was doing my ancestry a few years ago on an obscure side and I saw some names I recognized and I got excited! It's not a big deal to be related to someone famous or a past king or queen but it's kind of cool to be able to do it. Just my luck. Traced it to John Lackland! 🙄 One of the worst kings England ever had! I was telling my daughter and she was pretty small at the time and she said "is that the bad guy in Robin Hood?" I sighed it and said "yes it is" she said "can we just not tell anybody then?" 😆

I think I disagree with that. I don't think he was ever meant to be a ruler I don't think he had the personality for it I think he had serious mental issues. Sucks that you blame him for his depression and mental problems!

Sure but I think it makes sense how he got the way he did with his injuries.
Going from a bright, athletic and romantic young man to a crochety, overweight and murderous tyrant just doesnt happen for no reason.
I am sure the constant pain in his leg did nothing to help his temper for example, nevermind the really bad head injury he sustained which would've killed most people. Taking the full force of a lance to the face and still having a face left is insane.
That would be right.. the ones I descend from of course.. though I think we are from King Richard’s sister who married Sir Richard Naylor
My favorites are William II, Edward II, James I, and William IV. Art for art’s sake, beautiful men, and care for the people.
Regarding king John I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's analysis that really deserves
Richard the Lionheart was the worst. Hated his own country, avoided it, his responsibilities, and to top it all off failed to take the Holy Land. He had every talent England needed, but like a child he wanted to play war instead of being responsible. England would pay much for what Richard did AND did not do.
If they would have taken females into consideration for the ground. At this point we would not have to dealt with anything after this

Dude literally stole the throne and killed his child nephews to do so lol. A good King can keep their power (for the most part), Richard could not because he was bad and his keys to power hated him.
If he was wiser he couldve probably beat Henry however his defeat was because he lost control of his court and Henry's mother did a fantastic job exploiting the weakness he created but gave no thought to rectifying.
The Royal Family no longer use the name John due to the badluck that certain Johns have faced

I have 2 nephews, I would not dream of murdering them for their inheritance. Richard was a truly terrible, heartless human being.
@FootballFury There is no proof nor evidence he murdered them. The tudors slandered and slated him good and proper! The only way for sure to prove they weren't murdered is to test those bones in Westminster Abbey. That's down to Charles to decide and right now he has other things to worry about. Also go watch the program princes in the tower new evidence. May change your mind on it all!
We don’t know for sure if he killed them. But he certainly had the means and a motive.
They called John 'Softsword'. However, it was his other weapon they were referring to.
I would clearly rate Edward 2nd as the worst due to a monumental difference between the two. King John was never supposed to inherit the crown as he was the 5th son and was thus never properly educated as a future king like his older brothers Henry and Richard were. Edward 2nd was raised from birth as the heir apparent and was rigourously educated with this in mind. Despite this John still managed to prove himself a little while Edwards only triumphs were practically gift wrapped to him by those around him more competent.

This, alone, makes me think these were specifically made to be listened to rather than watched. There's a few images of the actual people they're talking about but the rest is just stock footage/images.
The number of historical errors in the Richard III segment should be a great embarrassment to whoever uploaded this video. If I were your history teacher, and you clearly need one, you'd fail.

King Edward II was hardly a bad king in terms of administrative skill. Richard III however was also a usurper who took the throne by force like King Henry VII did

Just had a bath a big poo and made a hot cup of tea im gonna get into bed and watch this documentary im also going to enjoy a delicious cuttlefish, pigeon and potatoe sandwhich with lashings strawberry gravy that I made by myself because I dont have a husband he left me for another man so ill eat it by myself which I prefer because I can fart and burp as much as I like because cuttlefish and pigeon give me terrible gas i can already feel the bubbles in my tummy anyways i hope everyone enjoys this informative documentary like i did and before i leave dont do drugs kids and always wipe back to front, it builds character
