Never miss a video! Thanks For this 🎉🎉🎉🎉
We need videos on Meyer & Arnold Rothstein
We need videos about professional boxers, sports athletes.
Let’s get a Freeway Rick Ross documentary.
Let's get videos about Frank Matthews, Frank Lucas, Nicky Barnes, Guy Fisher, Jeff Fort, & Bumpy Johnson.
This channel is simply one of the best history sites on UA-cam right now, you guys are on fire lately
Yes
Agree, yet still simply question father Kennedy’s mostly “erroneous” ties to Mob bootlegging, it’s where most of his fortune finally came from, not to mention Mob associate help to help get JFK elected, which his AG brother always regretted and so went hard after the mafia.
9 out 10 people they choose are all ones I'm interested in.
The phrase, "The man known to history as..." tickles me in places
These crime family boss ones are awesome
“I never went to school past the third grade but, I’ve graduated from the ten universities of hard knockers”
Frank Costello
He’s was one of the most dangerous kinds of gangsters.
Intelligent, careful, a manipulator/corrupter, etc. Much more dangerous than some thug who simply kills.
He was probably selected to be a higher member
He didn't hurt ordinary folks
I would say Vito Corleone was based at least some on Frank Costello. Corleone was known as a man who had a lot of friends in politics and had the raspy voice. Frank was the same way.Even their view on narcotics was the same.
Still watching but have to thank you right now. Surprise discovery, now in my top favourite channels. Superb presentation and research as always.
I’m so happy that I found this channel! I listen to the videos while I work and it’s amazing! Thank you for making these videos!
Great video. We need videos on Meyer & Arnold Rothstein.
Definitely would want to see those!
E who is meyer and Arnold rothstein
He’s my favorite mobster ever! I used to visit a friend who
Lived in The Majestic, Costello’s building.
It’s interesting he was an Aquarius because he showed the impersonal and very rational, futuristic features that sign is known for. His stepping out of power gracefully, his refusal to ID his unsuccessful hit man in court are typically 😮 dispassionate Aquarius responses. Plus he was handsome and an understated yet dapper dresser. Very cool dude all around.
You’re spoiling us with all these gangster biographies😊
Costello is my minds eye view of a real gangster. Low key, quiet and all business
They didn't called him the *Prime Minister* for nothing!
About Kennedy Sr. I read in a book that many Gangsters didn't like him because when he was bringing people and liquor and the cost guard would go after them he would throw the people to the Sea and many people died that way. This is why the family had bad luck. No one speaks of this truth... Horrible 😢
Awesome! Love your content guys! You're the Best 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great Documentary 👍
I've been watching your mobster documentaries as they were released and was wondering when you would get to Costello. Will you be looking into Joe Bonanno or Meyer Lansky sometime?
Frank was clearly top of the tree for a considerable amount of time !! Don’t get named the prime minister for nothing suppose , done it the right way 👍
The way the Biography channel USED to be.........
Was never this good
Love the old world mafia profiles, keep it going please!
Frank wasn't a hitter. Sure could slap and abuse people who wouldn't resist and give the order to knock someone off but Frank has never been linked or known to any case in which he was squeezing the trigger. He had those guys around him to do that for him since he was more intelligent in terms of negotiating peace; hence his moniker, Prime Minister of The Mob.
I love the mafia series. I have enjoyed the other two documentaries.
This seems a tiny nit to pick, but there is no federal police force in the US. Municipalities have police forces and counties have sheriff's deputies. Some states have police forces (California's was rolled into its Highway Patrol, which now provides security to the Governor in addition to writing traffic tickets 🤷🏻♂️). The federal government has investigators with powers of arrest (FBI), (ATT), but they usually assist local law enforcement in an advisory capacity in cases violating federal law or crimes committed in multiple states and leave the issue of detention to the enforcers with ties to the area.
Absolutely superb ❤as usual 😍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
God Save The King
Awesome right as I'm going to bed :)
When I was a kid, his cousin was my neighbor. One day I went outside and there was an FBI car parked in front of his house inside questioning him. That was the first time I ever heard about Frank Costello.
They were considered black back then. They even lived in Harlem
East 108th Street
Booze then, opiates now, sunrise, sunset.
The “Prime Minister” might be the best to ever do it! Salute Frank Costello!
It is said when Gigante was cleared of the charges he walked by Costello in the court room and said, "thanks Frank". He knew Costello's silence was golden.
As a result of criminalizing a desired substance, an exponential increase in criminality results. Alcohol was legalized which diverted profits to entrepreneurs, prevents poisonous alcohol on the market, and creates many legitimate jobs. Given the afore mentioned benefits of Legalization, why are other substances still criminalized?
The consequences of decriminalization of fentynal and meth have been a disaster on the west coast of the us
Thank you to our host. Masterfully done
Hello from South Africa. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you
I used to watch the show Boardwalk Empire. So, learning the actual history of the maifa is pretty cool
That’s very gangster bro
A pleasure to encounter a fluent native English speaker narrator rather than a bot!
WE NEED MORE MAFIA EPISODES THIS WAS AMAZING
Very well done series. Much appreciated 🍀🍸
Ruben Frank’s pronunciation is exquisite 🤌🤌🤌
It sure is 😍 his pronunciation is PERFETTO 🤌
Except for GAMBOLLING….
@@user-ev4ie2wx7k almost as if words sound different with different accents
Well done, sir.
Awesome job!! Thank you 😊
Thanks again for your time today with your show.i e it.
Next: Carlo Gambino
Please make an episode on UN secretary general Dag Hammarskjöld. He is such an interesting character 🥰
Very cool video.💪👍
I really like your vocabulary!!!
I'd Love this as a podcast !!!! Any chance ??😊
The picture on the thumbnail is Joe Adonis
😅
I was all in when this guy sounded like the animal documentary guys voice!
I believe the narrator is Jude Law. David Attenborough has narrated many zoological programs.
Great content, superbly articulated and engaging narrative. Waiting eagerly to witness other pieces of marvels from the same channel on history@San Mitter
I have studied organized crime for many years. I have a private library at home on books written about every crime figure. Costello was one of the most powerful and intelligent mob bosses. He knew exactly what he wanted and accomplished it. He retired a very wealthy man and lived till his 80s gracefully. Not many mob bosses have accomplished what he accomplished.
No fluff. Just the facts you can rely on.
The situation in southern Italy has not improved many still go without and opportunities are few
Nice.
great coverage
Great vid thank you
Groovy tale.
CI watched every episode of the sopranos and boardwalk. It taught me one thing you may be on top for years but eventually you will be brought down. There were very few bosses that that died from natural causes. Costello was a shrewed, wise gangster who knew when to fold his hand like a gambler.
Does anyone know what the piece of music is while the end credits are running is? It sounds vaguely familiar.
That's where my great grandmother came from.
I would love to see you guys do an episode on King Charles II of Spain. It seems as though all anyone ever talks about when it comes to him and his rule is how inbred he was. I really want to known how he ruled and what happened in Spain during his rule. Did he actually make any decisions or was it more like people around him making the choices of what got done and he was told what to sign off on. There's got to be more to him than just his genetic limitations.
God Save The King
What is the background music playing through much of the video? Is it O mio babbino caro?
What else are people supposed to do when left in poverty ? I respect these guys to be honest . Many left their homeland with nothing and often through choices of their parents and went right to the upper echelons of America and not that different in their methods to the "good guys" that came from wealthy families and the jobs were already lined up for them . Costello was a warrior in my opinion , not perfect but a strong man indeed.
❤️👍
Check out Joe Stalin. If you like mafioso, you'll love Joseph Stalin!
An easy opinion unless you were a direct victim of his crimes.
You probably wouldn't have that opinion if they were extorting your business
@@RR-sj1vc of course
A Pillar of society my man
Our Lady of the Pillar
Spanish: Nuestra Señora del Pilar
Good
Silly Siegel lol
nice video
Sweet videos bro, your vids are quality and entertainment, you should do a documentary on (lee duffy) a 1 man army. ❤❤
Not nessun dorma in the background 😅 49:11
😮😮😮😮 i like the real gangsters history
Facts ! This is who Vito Corleone is based on ! idk why everyone d rides Carlo Gambino and say its based on him , its not
Punshment was really light back then compared to now...
"You broke the unwritten law Frankie, you ratted on your friends..."
Johnny 5
That last one was a winner
Great Story.
It's interesting how the mafia cares about branding and marketing.
The mob bios are good. 👍
Now do one for Meyer Lansky
I thought the Gambinos are real godfathers of NY
Naw the ice man was lol jk
FRANK CASTELO WAS VERY GOOD MAFIOSI
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Interesting, but a few corrections are in order. Huey Long's nickname was the Kingfish, not Kingfisher. Also, he was a United States Senator, not a Louisiana state senator.
Always thought he looked like Bela Lugosi 😂
He had the judges political connections
Luciano,Lansky,Frank and Vito...Hate them but respect them
And all this time , I thought it was Tony Acardo
Frank was a great man, Genovese ousted him and was a terrible leader.
Did I hear you correctly that a murderous mob gangster was a good man? There's no such person in the game of Murder Incorporating.
@@nobodynoneofyourbusiness3787 we just operate on different levels me and you.
Do myer lanskey please boss and Carlo Gambino, profaci, al Capone loads of em
just $100 was a hell of a lot bk then
Lol I thought that too when he said it but we shouldn't analyse peoples every word too much . He possibly mean't "just" as in risk reward ratio or he might even have used todays equivalent amount
Approximately $1,800
He truly was the "Prime Minister"🙏🙏👍👍
It’s interesting how sociopaths achieve wealth and power while the good and kind people struggle to survive in this jungle that we live in.
It all started when Adam was tricked in the garden, we now have to fight like hell to survive against Satan's children who are Treacherously wise and will do anything to maintain control and power, by what ever means necessary, even murder their own brother.
Should have stayed away from narcotics
How ya doin Frank?
"bang"
Costello…Psychiatrist?… I thought that only happened in the Soprano’s?🙈
I believe it was in the Bonnano book I read it.
Excellent video of this country's mobsters.
Please would you make a documentary about Genghis Khan ❤
I went to elementary school with his niece Camille, PS 102 in East Harlem New York. We graduated from the six grade in 1948.
Wow , that would make you around 85 yrs old .....????.........do you still live in Harlem ??.......what was Harlem like in those days ??..........do you remember doowop groups singing on street corners ??.....….Erik😮
@@BluesBoy-ij2rb i’m 87 years old Harlem back in those days was fantastic. It was your neighborhood you knew everybody on the block and everybody knew you and your family. You were safe unlike today as a kid growing up I constantly came in contact with what I would call wise guys summer good summer not so good, but it was a fantastic life and I’m so glad that I was able to witness it today.
@@BluesBoy-ij2rb I was part of a group I hate to call it a gang but I guess we were at 117th St. between 2nd and 3rd Avenue where are used to hang out on third Avenue between 116 and 117th St. where there was the blue note records shop the two guys that ran it. One was in Italian and one was Jewish, PHIL and Ralph. It was a great time to grow up in New York City especially in Harlem
We have been given the illusion of free will. God has and will always be in charge of our lives. Good, bad, or otherwise, all our fates are in God's hands. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
While a great channel and video, I must question the decision to hide the number of patrons on patreon. I would have joined, even if you guys were already receiving a large amount but I find hiding the figures dishonest and will now not do so.
Bonanno, the real Godfather.
👀
Chin apologized for shooting him… enough said.
Comedy with tragic relief.
