It was massive everywhere; I'm Irish and I caned it in clubs here at the time and it was easily the most asked about record whenever I played it - and I remember going to ILT in 2003 and every single DJ I heard (except for Sven Väth funnily enough, considering he'd [along with DJ Hell] been playing it before anyone else) played it, sometimes twice. Mad that so many of them missed it, especially as it's such a distinctive track.
Well......hardest one yet as i'd left Techno behind and was back to spinning soul, funk and electro during this period. Got two though. heh. Another great show TEB peeps. Always a proper joy.
he's such a great guy lol. his show in detroit I couldn't help but type out on my phone to ask him the track ID, and he actually told me. Also the crowd wasn't the best and some girl was requesting a song and he declined so politely. Great set too
This was great - but I don't get how they didn't get Vitalic Poney EP on the first bar - that's such an iconic record ... all the tracks ... mindblowing
Late 90's early 2000's was the best time for techno , trance and house. The most producers had it's own style and did not tries to copy other ones. Today techno sounds always the same. Irony? (Everything sounds like Bergain-Techno :/ ) Btw. Today is my birthday. A perfect day to release a Blind Test Video. Thanks TEB :)
Best Techno and Trance is from 1991 to 1996. Then it was really original music which each release was different to each other. Nowadays 99% of 90's remix are from then.
Who listen Berghain techno in 2022?) It's just mainstream for people who is not experienced. There is a lot of great techno tracks released last years. But, I agree 90's is the golden era of electronic music
Dear all that is unholy. Truly this are hidden gems. They should be extended to other genres like progressive house and breaks. Please, keep them coming.
I'm proud to of got Poltergiest :-) Back in the day I had the Wave and Ayla on vinyl under Taucher's lable Additive...(I didnt realise I pronounced Taucher wrong for all these years)
Kommt da erstmal einer meiner absoluten Lieblingstracks !!! Round 4 ... der Track catcht mich einfach jedes Mal und wird nicht alt . . . . . "Fizheuer Zieheuer" von ihm ist auch legendär. Und danach einfach mal den Classico "Audion M2M". Da waren Sven Väths SOUND OF THE SEASON-LPs (in diesem Fall Seventh Season "Craziness") noch richtig gut und für solche Perlenfunde zu haben.
Knew it was Drexciya from the first bar. Really can't understand how a true DJ wouldn't know their sound at a heart beat. So recognizable just as AFX sound.
true djs got ALL in deeper mind, but cannt retrieve from there and spit the titles when the lights are not turned off. got it? can you say the name of your son? see. it's the same. brain. mistery.
Good to see Nina on this, I think I suggested having her on in the comments recently as her knowledge of electronic music is pretty deep, she didn't disappoint! How about a hard/industrial techno edition? Paula Temple/Rebekah/ I Hate Models maybe?
@@KnixCrisp she's pretty knowledgeable about electronic music more so than alot of DJs. Aphex Twin mentioned her in an interview, apparently she visited and stayed over at his house for a few days. He seems to think she's knows her stuff so that's a pretty decent endorsement.
Ah man, this was the era I first got into techno. So many great memories but also a couple of tunes I totally never heard at the time. Time to go digging through some back catalogues!
It's hard cause there's 2000s techno but then within that spectrum there are so many subgenres. I'd go bonkers on that Vitalic track but remember really hating the minimal blip blip blip techno period
Premium track selection once again. I only got the Vitalic one, because I'm a huge fan of the guy. Do one episode every two weeks. We will still watch :)
waitin'-anticipatin')) all ears) nice start for a new year of delight and enjoyment)) plz make some 2000-2010 house issue 2)) hugs'n'kissus from Russia
I love how enthusiastic and happy they are to recognize the tracks, they really love the music. (Ive only recalled 2 heh, surprised they didnt know Vitalic, it was quite a hit)
One of my favourite series on UA-cam. Never disappoints, always stumps me waaay more than gives me a tune I recognise and know, and always gives me more great music for my playlists. Thanks and more please!
@Ryan Dallas oki doki. Just find it interesting to read "loads of mmnl" as I can only see two so called minimal tracks in here. And Minimal was also a big part of the Techno 2000s.
I love this style of video!!! I want them to do tracks circa 2012-2013 from like Liebing and Speedy-J’s track selection from that period. It was so good!
Gee, I found track 2, track 4's name and track 8's artist (though I had never heard this track... but it sounds so much like rolling thunder). I'm super proud
I always look forward to the blind test you guys rock thank you so much for doing it at such a crucial time during all this madness🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💜💜💜💜💜💜
I was quite impressed, in the first couple seconds I actually knew a lot of these tracks! I'm usually crap at that sort of thing, shows how good they are :)
Just discovered this channel. SUBSCRIBE no brainer! Growing up as a teen in the ‘70s R&R ruled my world as well as liking Motown, James Brown / Funk and various others. Then Punk Rock / New Wave comes along and blows the doors wide open for such a wide range of styles it boggles my mind. Hip Hop is born. Power Pop, Ska, Death Rock (Goth), Rockabilly, Reggae, Electronica etc. all come center stage in various ways and at times get intertwined in some of the most wonderful and horrible ways. House music check! Acid yep! Techno! All constantly evolving. And even though I feel I’ve done a good job of keeping up with music in general I more often than not find myself lost in what I feel to be the most vast and expansive type of music in the world … Electronic music. And I’m not the only one. It seems most people are clueless about it. But then it simply does not get the exposure that other types of music do. And I find that so unfortunate. But then again by liking it as much as I do I take comfort in knowing there are others who take the time to search out and discover good quality music … like I try to. Or something like that. I know I was hoping … no, more like praying I would know one of the songs played but no such luck. I get the feeling that as I take more of these tests it’ll be akin to watching Jeopardy. Sometimes I’ll watch, be on a roll (for me) and get about 15-20% correct. Next episode / test lucky to get even one or two correct. Then like today a big fat zero. But that’s how you learn right 😁 Nuff said I’m out
My only complaint is that there aren't more of these videos. All the guest are always so chill, and their excitement/enjoyment is infectious.
I'm agreeing but disagreeing. Just like Techno: Less is more
I'm so with you...I love watching the faces to the music.
How not to like this??? I come to this series once in a while to expand my playlists, it never disappoints.
❤️
Нина лучшая:)
Ye ye ye Nina 😍
Nina, I watch to your home vinyl sessions from time to time. Those are super cool!
This is my fav:
Nina Kraviz home listening :) №1
Yeah ! So surprised that nobody knows Vitalic, this tune in particular was a massive hit in France.
Was huuuuge in Australia too
I Like Vitalic But it's no Techno. La Rock he's the best track.
Exactly, was very surprised, played all 3 tracks on the EP, personally my favorite was you prefer cocaine.
I remember part of the theme, but not with any vocals. And I always thought of it as "late 90s Berlin".
Ryan has such amazing energy. There's not one ounce of jadedness in that man, and he's been doing it for years. Really cool.
Also I want to party with Blasha and Allatt. They seem cool
@Chris Jones 100%
Early 2000s was so diverse for techno.
Well......hardest one yet as i'd left Techno behind and was back to spinning soul, funk and electro during this period.
Got two though. heh.
Another great show TEB peeps.
Always a proper joy.
Jesus christ, what a selection. So fucking good. Also Dub Techno may be the best invention in music ever.
This series is great - although I never get them right😂
It’s also great for expanding my collection
@4:38 "The track name is..." Brilliant editing!
rounds 4, 5 and 6 are awesome
bought them on vinyl and played all the time
Ryan Elliott seems to be a very funny guy ! :)
Yes I totally agree🙂
he's such a great guy lol. his show in detroit I couldn't help but type out on my phone to ask him the track ID, and he actually told me. Also the crowd wasn't the best and some girl was requesting a song and he declined so politely. Great set too
@@matthewxie4945 Nice anecdote mate !
He's one of my favourite DJ's I've seen play. Real good at working the dancefloor.

that's exactly what i was thinking, mate!
for real
can even sing the lyrics how many times I have heard it
Yep. Mega
Ohhh que nostalgia estos tracks, aquella década del extsis para mi
Proud of Nina 🦾
Good old days -- recognized half of them, but got one right :)

This series keeps being amazing! How about a dub techno episode?
When Vitalic rolls in and i'm like I know this.
I'm proud to of got Poltergiest :-)

Nothing like 2000's electro damn
Got the Vitalic track correct!

Childhood memories yeah. Not easy tracks tho

How cant you recognize Vitalic (in case you know Vitalic at all) ??

I give myself a 3.5. I confused Luke Slater and His remix of Extra by Ken Ishii.
I've listen to this Vitalic track so many times... I recognized it from the first beat !
huge music culture from Nina Kraviz and Francois X
Audion - Mouth to Mouth is such a gigantic tune, probably in my Top 10 favourite songs of all my time

Bambounou, avec son accent français, facile de le comprendre 😂
Bambounou, with his French accent, could easily understand him 😂
I recognized only Vitalic and Villalobos lol
poor techno enthusiasts couldn't tell these house tracks apart
I love how enthusiastic and happy they are to recognize the tracks, they really love the music. (Ive only recalled 2 heh, surprised they didnt know Vitalic, it was quite a hit)
La Rock is a Classic from early 2000's.
It's wasn't laRock mate
BT teaching the world how to pronounce Vainqueur, one episode at a time 😂 So many classics in here, yet another excellent selection. Bravo!
Please never stop doing this, i love these so much. Scored 4 which im chuffed with
How can Nina possibly get hate. She is obviously obsessed with this stuff and super knowledgeable. Dope af
she is the undoubtful queen!
lol...but she should be a music journalist, not a djane...
Ryan Elliottってけっこう明るいんだな。
Dettmann and Sterac have a very unique sound. I guessed the artist even though I haven't heard the tracks.
Thats the case with me with anything by Luke Slater or by Gerald Donald (Dopplereffekt/Drexciya)
Thank you for having us! Was a lot of fun
@Blasha Allatt you two ♥️
"We're doing shit" had me on the floor 😂

The level of musical joy when they recognize the tunes is amazing. !

never disappointing me.. alwaysss cultttt.. 💙❤️🔥💙
when I meet a producer with a track that I like, I will 100% do the same thing Bambounou did and sing it cause I'm bad with names
Villalobos ....techno XXXXDDDD
I was obsessed with this era. Gabriel Ananda -doppelwhipper. Was an absolute fav
Yes! That is an incredible track

Wow! So many great tunes what brings back great memories... Goosebumps :)
Ааа! Нинка умничка! Молодец! 🔥🔥🔥
Was the Round 2 record actually techno?
Praying for some proper early 2000s tribal techno cuts this time and less Euro minimal or electroclash records.
Not this time.
same..
Yeah at beginning of 2001 this was not playing at techno festivals at all
