Fax stuff has some of the greatest clarity i've ever heard in electronic music and i've been in the thick of it for 35 years.
I'm 41 now and these tracks bring me back to a time that was so fun and exciting. Trance is what got me into edm and DJing and even though I'm not really into modern trance I still love the old stuff.
Universal Nation - Push is always the best Belgian dance/trance track. Whenever a radio channel does like a best dance top100 of something. It Will ALWAYS be Universal Nation on nr 1

I didn't know the titles, but I've recognized every single song after the first two notes. That was the sound of my youth before I was old enough to go to clubs and got hooked to harder techno in Frankfurt.
So many beautiful tracks there ... on half of them I got instant chills on the very first note, and so many "OMG I know this one, damn how is it called AAAARGH!" There was no such trance in any point of time afterwards, and never will be. Thank you for this incredible voyage through time!

I remember hearing a few seconds of Stella on some dance chart a long time ago - maybe on MTV - literally made my way to the nearest record shop to buy it. Bought both the original R&S and the Remix EP. The original and Moby remixes have been a favourite of mine for decades now!
Growing up and starting high school in 98, I listened to the trance station on digitally imported and most of the songs played in this video brought back a lot of memories. Very good list ☺️
4 voice - eternal spirit was a track I was listening as a child, never knew the title and now suddenly It hits me like a nuclear blast from the past. Amazing melodies for an amazing easy going decade.
i first heard that melody from old Stephan Bodzin's Escape and thanks to that 1998 track i went back and check out the original. instant gratificiation!
There was a big cheesy remix of that track titled something else, maybe Titanic, that was a bit more eurodancey IIRC. That's probably what you heard as a child, and simply remember the melody.

I feel that 2020 with covid and everyone home for the most part made people explore the internet and come thru to the Classic/progressive trance genre. Either brought back nostalgia to the people that grew up within that scene or brought a new light to the younger generation. I hope that something major happens in marketing the classics to the masses and we get it back in full swing.

Watching just makes me think what in the world happened to trance. It used to be so sexy, musical, and emotional. Most importantly, it was very sophisticated.
That kicked in even in '99, suddenly they labeled the most boring trash as Trance in large countryside clubs, basically they could only play what the numb audience could still process and would not react with aggression to. So out went any sophistication, any multilayered sound, anything that took you up and down at the creator's will.
