Since this review a bunch of stuffs been improved and the environments look waaaaaay better. And DLC2 is out too. I'm still not a fan but it's great that JoyWay put in a ton of work already
I added this to my wishlist as soon as it came to the store. Now I have to take it off and put it on my "I wish it was better" list.

Great review! Knowing how high their potential is, it's been so awful watching Joyway's output slowly begin to reek more of mismanagement, corner cutting and cash grabbing.
They have now THREE abandoned early access projects under their belt (four if you count the rugpulled promise of Fates being part of the original Stride), they've been spitting out demos for games that never fully come to fruition and worst of all; their most recent products (Dead Hook, Stride Fates) are laced with lazy AI generated artwork and voices, on top of the overall polish of their games just taking a giant hit.
I think it's time to start flat out avoiding games from Joyway... lol

I bought stride on psvr1 and was excited for about 15 minutes, played it once, tried out the modes and never played it again lol.
consider adding + 0.00005 to the final score for butt stab mechanics?

Getting my PSVR 2 tomorrow, any suggestions? Looking to spend about $120 on vr games I already own a sim rig and gt7 .
Crossfire sierra squad and Pavlov are great fun. Be gentle with your controller, you can’t buy replacements.
I personally think crossfire is terribly boring but I have enjoyed hellsweeper, RE4, and Pavlov
@@typicalsloth2716 I played it with a mate for co op, was a great time. Sadly there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of co op or decent shooters that aren’t plagued with bugs right now.
I’d buy another game like crossfire right now if I could.

I know this has nothing to do with this video, but I downloaded legendary tales on the sale. I tried to play it, but it will not work. I deleted it and try it again and it has the warning at the beginning and press X. I press X and nothing. What do I do?
Try checking in forums for this issue.
PSVR2 feels like a good student that is constantly beaten by bullies.
It literally has all the same games as quest. Resident evil 4 remake is hands down the best vr game I've ever played. Madison is also up there
@@titojackgaming704 that's not true. quest's library is much bigger. loads of upcoming vr games won't be on psvr2 while quest will get them.
@@thehunterx93 I think he meant that they're porting quest games to PSVR2, which can handle bigger and better games. That being said, Red Matter 2 is also quest game and I thought it was one of the games on PSVR2.
@titojackgaming704 backwards compatibility is on quest unlike psvr2 and the developers tax sometimes like angry birds and moss. Ps plus premium for 8 VR demos doesn't hold a candle to meta quest's subscription. Accessories may be kinda annoying but psvr2 is the waning xbox of VR land.
It does have fun stuff like swordsman, epic roller coasters, puzzling places, the wizards transformers, angry birds and optional demeo/cave digger 2 (cave digger 2 doesn't transfer data unlike demeo for VR and nonVR since it's a different download). Operation wolf returns is a solid game with motion controls and VR optional but the ps4 physical won't let you upgrade.
Resident evil 4 is vr optional though it crashed on me to start in that mode. Maybe they will patch it like screen tearing in main as I enjoyed mercenaries mode. Some like gran turismo 7 despite the microtransactions. Psvr2 is also dropping in price second hand to be around $350. I got mine for about $450 last year used.
I mean it was clear as soon as Sony revealed the price that PSVR2 was going to be another VR gen of mostly extreme indie games, you're not going to get a steady stream of quality games for platform that has been a sales flop.

Of course. We'll be talking about every update as they come in. But even if they polish the fuck out of this game it'll still only be a 7/10. For it to be even better they'd have to redesign major parts of the game

Joyway left a bad taste in my mouth with stride PSVR 1 (even though i actually loved the game!), then I heard all the other horror stories of other joyway titles. Had a big gut feeling stride fates was gonna be a hot mess... Thanks for continuing to push threw and let us know about these games and issues for us!!
Man im praying this new re9 game or re1 remake has a VR mode so capcom can once again save psvr2 for 2024.
Luckily I already have this in Quest. I enjoyed it there for the limited time i played. I'll hold off on this till it's fixed.

Joyway has announced that patches are coming sometime this month that'll address some the gameplay and graphical issues, along with adding DLC2. I'll keep you posted and let you know if anything gets significantly improved

I'd prefer a full VR version of the first Mirror's Edge game, without the "wave arms to run" mechanic.
There are often only games of this level. Is it possible for VR2 to get out of this predicament? Sony should just announce that it has completely abandoned VR2!

Im flabbergasted people think this game is bad. I paid 30 bucks for it and feel it's worth the price. After not using my vr2 for months, i felt like booting it up, saw this trailer in the store, watched it for like 20 seconds, and then instantly bought it. It's exactly what i was looking for; an open world-ish parkour game where I have spiderman-ish powers, with ok gun mechanics. Are the Npc's, Npc's? Yeah, they are super easy and dumb, but who cares. It's a $30 4gb downloadable game that's not really like any other game on the Playstation store (i dont think so. I didn't do research before this comment). For instance, i love the game Pavlov. It has many modes and maps, and probably the best gun mechanics, but you have to stand while playing. I dont feel like standing in one spot for hours on end. Horizon forbidden West is cool, goodish graphics, has climbing elements (which feel more like a workout), can play sitting down, but the fighting, and climbing, is very restrictive and one dimensional. Survive is a complete open world zombie game, pretty good gun mechanics, and fun game all around, but the graphics are rough. Stride Fates has decent graphics, ok gun mechanics, great open world vibes, amazing parkour and movement, can play sitting down, and goofy Npc interactions. Are there things that suck about the game, of course. The reflex site on guns is hard to see/make appear, you have to physically hold down the button to hold your gun/anything (its not like Pavlov, where you have the option to rest your finger on the button to hold the gun/grab), the Npc's are a bit too easy, and there is no multiplayer (i dont think). All in all, the game is definitely worth the price at $30 (more than worth the price of $15 or $20, which the reviewer said it was at one point) and is very unique at the moment. Lastly, this is the longest comment I've ever written, or will ever write, lol (only ever written like 2 sentence comments max). I just feel strongly about the game, aaaaaand just got out of work so i got time, haha. ✌️

As a Joy Way game, I would not hold my breath on them enhancing this game. They have a poor track record of throwing out games and forgetting about them. They may fix the occasional bug/crashing, but what they release is what you get. I never had any hopes for this one. Which sucks to say

I have played (what there is of this game) on Quest 3 & the enemy AI has to be some of the worst I have seen in ANY game. Hell the only time I died in a playthrough was due to a bug where my grappling hook launched me into the abyss.*

Honestly I didn’t need the bad review to buy this trash. I already bought it in early access with the promise of a single player campaign and then they go and release it separately after they took my money and ignored this fact when I brought it up

Man, this was looking to be the next mirror's edge, in vr for crying aloud. I so hope they see the worth in fixing this and make it the game it has the full potential to be..

This game is fantastic on the quest 3 standalone. Yes the voice acting is terrible, but the game is an absolute blast. Certainly not for VR noobs. Might have to pick up the steam version for the best visuals.
It looks like , you care more about PSVR 2 than Sony .
Still just about none of these games like the original stride available on PSVR 2. Insane.

I stupidly bought this game before watching this review, luckily I never started it so I called Sony and got refunded.
Devs are never gunna learn. Stop releasing games that are only 50% developed.
They know it's shit, but the management doesn't want to waste more money on another 6 months of development.
Well they lied about the content they would deliver the first time around. If we'd bothered to sue, we probably would have won. False advertising isn't just wrong, it's illegal and as far as I'm aware, they never even bothered to apologize. Wouldn't care if this was a 10/10, no one should give a penny to a company that openly, brazenly and unashamedly doesn't care about their customers.
If the butt stabbing mechanics don't work, it's a hard pass for me.

no one will even buy my psvr2 for 250. Ive had a bad time with it. the worst part is the tech is amazing. Theres just almost 0 games i enjoy outside the mini golf game and GT7. I enjoyed my psvr more by far. Wheres the video player? Wheres playroom VR2? Wheres the fun beautiful indie games like gnog? Its just mid tier "experience" games that bore the life out of me.
I think a lot of people share your position on vr2. I don't disagree either, but Resident Evil 4 Remake in vr is one of my best gaming experiences of all time
I thought this would help balance against all the cartoony crap in the store. Guess I was wrong. I truly hope Aces of Thunder knocks it out of the park and sells really well. Just imagine how awesome it would be for them to bring all of War Thunder to vr

Its crazy how disgusting this game looks on PSVR2, its more like Quest 2 port with zero improvements. On Quest 3 this game looks so much better and i love that game on Quest, but when i saw all revirws on psvr2, its just shame they ruin it like this. And there isnt even "openworld* dlc like on Quest version, its bizare.

Don't blame you for making this comment. If you haven't tried them yet, there are a few other good games like Horizon, Red Matter 2, Paradise hotel, and Ultrawings 2 and Madison aren't bad either. But your point is valid, I've been waiting patiently for better releases.
