As much as I hate to rain on the parade here... the fighting is only good if you don't know what good fighting looks like. I have done nine years of MMA fighting and learned a few things. For instance, the power in a punch should not come from drawing all the way back to come all the way forwards; "haymaker" punches are easy to predict and dodge, and leave the person throwing them off-balance and vulnerable. In this scene, Master Chief uses nothing but haymaker punches, trying to get all of the power out of just the muscles in his arms. I am not particularly strong, but I can drop an opponent in one punch if I throw it correctly, because I don't just use the force in my arms. I pivot and throw with my entire body, which gives me much more power without sacrificing speed or accuracy--in fact, it actually makes me throw punches _faster._ Chief doesn't do that here--and if he did, he could literally take the head off of a jackal and kill an Elite by punching out it's chest.
Thank you for making this, even if it is bittersweet. Just imagine what the show could have been. How wildly successful it would've been if they just did it like this. I truly don't understand why they did this to Halo, to Master Chief, to us..

This is a good one but it's not the ultimate theme. The one with the electric guitar is louder and better describes him going rampant against grunts and jackals. This theme is more about one final battle when clearly this is not a final battle
343 & Microsoft didnt get much input on the show outside of prop design and like asset sharing but even then they didnt get involvement with the plot or showrunner; hired by Paramount Pictures who pretty much bastardised Halo to try to make it new person friendly. They tried to make Masterchief a character that can be emphasised with rather than the Self-Insert MC but even then they ended up with Master cheeks but even then they didnt understand things like the covenant's aim to erase humanity soooo...m

I’m absolutely dumbfounded by the lack of the Halo music in this show. Halo has some of the most iconic music; emotional and epic. This really shows how important editing is, especially with regards to a musical score. I know there is some legal issue with the Halo music rights between Marty O’Donnell (Halo music composer), and 343i. But they really should have tried to get that music.
I don’t want a season 2. Give the IP to someone who actually cares bout the franchise and let them make something up. Have Chief be a background character since they fucked him over on this show. Build up the mystique of his character after it was destroyed here.
I absolutely love that they snuck Atriox into Season 1 and it went under most folk's radar... enough that they didn't ponder about it... I legit CANNOT WAIT to see if they explore the Banished in Season 3 or 4... because my God I'd love that.
Surprise surprise, if you don't give in to an actor's demand to show his face every 5 secs the fight scene looks good. Though this would be even more perfect if you remove the first cut of the other spartan getting beat up; those punches look like "weak high school bully punches" as another commenter mentioned.
The editing is superb. Steve Dows Voice, original Halo scoring with the removal of the screaming and cringy iron man helmet shot. Thank you! Aside from that, no amount post ending can fix bad directing and acting. In the first scene, the master chief wouldn't tilt his neck like that, it's out of character, the real chief would do his iconic looking up camera shot then and firmly looking at the enemy with conviction and confidence. Also in the last scene, he wouldn't be bobbling his head after he was hit with the gravity hammer on the shield, he would firmly jolt his head upright and look straight at the brute and gun towards him and grab his gravity hammer with the grapple. He would try to stop the brute no matter the cost. Pablo Schreiber's movement is cartoonish and cringy at times. It's very evident he doesn't understand the character deeply. Chief conveys his character through his mannerisms. Pablo Schreiber's acting was awful and so was his voice. He also wouldn't toss his pistol like that but more likely use it as a blunt weapon like games or holster the pistol once he finds ammo. But the edit can't fix bad acting or directing. But this edit makes this scene watchable and enjoyable at least.
This show literally had a winning formula via the art style; lore; faction mannerisms; music from the bungie games. And one guy in his spare time has just proven that here.

I have never actually thought how much more the show offers without having to see Master Cheeks stupid face every 5 seconds.
This looks fantastic. They were close when you only look at the action scenes.
This show literally had a winning formula via the art style; lore; faction mannerisms; music from the bungie games. And one guy in his spare time has just proven that here.
