@trudymccubbin1780 That's so cool, I betcha' loved that!!! Cinderella was one of my favorite bands back in the day. I saw them open for AC/DC in '87 or '88. I think it was AC/DC's Blow Up Your Video Tour. Why I remember this stuff and can't remember what I said yesterday, I have no idea.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's, and my childhood was hard. Music was my salvation. So many great songs and awesome groups came out of the 80's, and none were greater than Bon Jovi! While it was Slippery When Wet that put them on the map, I already had their first two albums, and I loved them. I bought Slippery the day it was released and I listened to it non stop for a month at least!!

So freaking fun. I am in that video. Standing behind the keyboard player. I was in 9th grade. The last shot of the video was filmed at Six Flags Great Adventure. Bon Jovi played a free concert to thank Seaside for allowing the video shoot to happen. I have guitar picks and the band autograph still to this day. Oh that scene where Tico is floating on the raft. I was asked to do what is known as a camera block where the set up the camera's and lighting before the talent actually enters the video take.

    In and out of love
    Young and wired
Set to explode in the heat
    You won't tire
'Cause baby, you were born with the beat
Take you higher than you've ever known
Then drive you down to your knees
I'll pick you up when you've had enough
You been burned baby lessons learned
    In and out of love
    Hear what I'm sayin'
    In and out of love
It's the way that we're playing
    In and out of love
    Too much is never enough
    She's gonna get ya
    Running wild
When me and my boys hit the streets
    Right on time
She's here to make my night complete
Then I'm long gone I got another show
One more town, one mile to go
    One endless night of fantasy
Is all she left of her with me
    In and out of love
    Hear what I'm sayin'
    In and out of love
It's the way that we're playing
    In and out of love
    When we're together
    In and out of love
    It's too much forever
    In and out of love
    Hear what I'm sayin'
    In and out of love
It's the way that we're playing
    In and out of love
    Too much is never enough
    She's gonna get you
    Out of love
    Out of love
    Out of love
    Out of love
    In and out of love
    In and out of love
    In and out of love
In and out of love (love!)

ahhhh... how lucky you were... you know I really love the music, the teased-up hair, tight jeans, the attitude, the girls, KNAC, partying, the gigs ... I'm a devoted fan of rock music from '83 to '92 and I've listened to THOUSANDS of bands from that period and I will never understand why did it all fade away... such talented musicians, all the feeling, the fun, the vibe... I guess that's why most people can't remember those times without a sincere smile and a sigh...

I actually look back at the '80s with "tears of joy." In my opinion, the '80s were the PEAK or PINNACLE of "FUN," "FUN," "FUN!" In my opinion, thanks to God-awful "grunge," the "fun" came to an end! Looking back and, even, TO THIS DAY, WHY would ANYONE, with ANY COMMON SENSE OR LOGIC, want a "miserable," "depressed," "homeless-looking," junkie, like Kurt Cobain, to be the "voice" of THEIR generation?!

totally agree. I was at The Hard Rock Cafe in Tampa, FL. and when the intro to this song came on, I thought it was KISS at first. Has that feel and sound of an early / mid 80's KISS song

Can't go past this song without listening to it. My favorite song written by Bon Jovi. The album as well is my favorite (7800 Fahrenheit). It is such an underrated album and for sure deserved more radio time

My cousin and I happened to be in Seaside the night they were filming this. We were two metalhead ladies but we weren't into Bon Jovi, we liked heavier metal. As we were walking on the boardwalk, we heard and saw a band in the distance playing on the boardwalk stage. When we realized it was Bon Jovi filming a video, we mingled with the crowd for a little while and watched them perform the song over and over. Eventually we got bored and headed to Casino Pier where Metallica could often be heard blasting on many of the rides. That was our preferred scene.
Back in the 80s, Seaside was for metalheads. Lots of the bands from the Jersey and Philly metal scene would hang out there on weekends and we would run into them. Many of my old vinyl albums, like Ozzy, Maiden, Metallica and others were won playing the wheels in Seaside. In those days you could also win cartons of cigarettes playing the wheels. Everybody smoked back then.
The 80s were truly a magical time, especially in Seaside. Fast-forward to 2023 and the boardwalk has changed dramatically, as has the people that hang there. It's nowhere near as cool as it used to be. But it's still fun to go for the nostalgia.

    Young and wired
Set to explode in the heat
    You won't tire
Cause baby was born with the beat
Take you higher than you've ever known
Then drive you down to your knees
I'll pick you up when you've had enough
You been burned baby lessons learned
    [Chorus:]
    In and out of love
    Hear what I'm sayin'
    In and out of love
It's the way that we're playing
    In and out of love
    Too much is never enough
    She's gonna get ya
    Running wild
When me and my boys hit the streets
    Right on time
She's here to make my night complete
Then I'm long gone I got another show
One more town, one mile to go
    One endless night of fantasy
Is all she left of her with me
    [Chorus]
