Firstly, “studdering” isn’t a word. Secondly, the guy only worked on the solo mode, and is trying to advise on rules in real time over a remote connection that’s being live-streamed; maybe give the guy a break? This game is great fun, and it takes very little time to learn and understand the rules if you put a little effort in.
Watched this again after receiving the official solo mode. It’s even more refined and works really well. Paul’s revised rulebooks are also great. Thanks so much Jason and Paul.
Paul it is pretty obvious that apart from your hard work, devotion and diligence for the game, you harbour a true love for this playthrough !! What an excellent video, how beatifully painted miniatures, and finally what a smooth playthrough !!! I really enjoyed the video and I will certainly get the game. Thanks again !!!
Thanks for the feedback. A lot of work has gone into the solo/ coop mode to get it to play that smoothly and also not forgetting Paul’s contribution with feedback on the solo/ coop mode, how much effort he has put into the main game rules and how slick his videos are.
Nice one! I want to thank both Paul & Jason for this amazing teamwork, Jason worked on this for years, and Paul helped make it smoother and clearer, perfect combo of hard worker and men full of passion!
I’m relearning this game and came across this. I must have missed it when it was streamed. It did hurt when Paul put two of Batman’s cubes into the wound area instead of the fatigue. I guess that helped bring it down to the wire. I’m also looking forward to this mode when it delivers.
I passed on this game a couple of times but always with regret. It did seem to complex and fiddly but with your, Jason and Monolith's efforts it now seems to be a really solid, enjoyable experience. Well done all involved and great play throughs.
There is no doubt that this game has a steep learning curve and there is a LOT going on. I've spent almost 2 years working on the revised rulebook, and whilst the game is still the same complexity, I hope we've made it more accessible. But yeah, it is not a light game by any means.
Thanks for your kind comments. Paul’s reply is spot on and my goal with the solo/coop mode was not to add to the cognitive load, and actually to try and make the smoothest possible solo/coop variant. Hopefully with all the playtesting and feedback this has been achieved.
Wow, those solo/co-op rules have me hyped for the game again. I only wish there also was a more stealth-like option or missions, like the Batman Arkham video games. But that is for the game in general, the solo mode looks like it's just what I wanted, and what will make me bring the game out more often.
I fear there will be an expensive shopping session at some point soon... The OH has already said "The more I see this game, the more I think I'll enjoy it". You have a lot to answer for Mr Gaming Rules! 😂😂😂. It was a fun and informative playthrough to watch.
Been a big fan of the solo mode since its original release and rejected the first KS since they said there would not be solo mode. JK777 did a great job and the first version plays well. Backed the third season to get the solo components and have added more expansions as well. Looking forward to this streamlined game.
@@jaykeep2803 I have a question about the missions. Can I swap villains in the premade missions? I am thinking about adding a few Season 2 individual villains to the pledge, but I wanted to check whether the Solo mode would account for that. Thanks
Villains looked easy to run in Solo/Co-op with options of do this, this or this. Also nice to see there will be variability in the cards that come out and ways to alter the difficulty so it's not the same game if you replay it.
Yes the villains are easy to run, there is very little increase in overhead from the multiplayer game and the variability in the cards does mean you get games that are memorable, because of what the villains do, whilst also being very different. Difficulty levels, trust me there are a whole host of possible options.
I backed the season 2 Kickstarter, but have yet to play it (the rulebook threw me off). I backed season 3 due to there being a new rulebook and (most importantly) a co-op mode, and after watching this video I can't wait to try it out with my wife. Thanks!
I have a copy of Conan somewhere, but never played it. Apart from sponsored videos, my Patreon supporters generally vote on what they want to see on the channel. However, after learning Batman, I am keen to try Conan, but I couldn't play it without painting all the minis :)

Paul, I have seasons 1 and 2. I was waiting for the new solo rules. I grabbed the new solo expansion but do I still need the Batcomputer Files to play solo?
Great video Paul. I am very excited to get my copy of it. I am a backer of season 3 and finallt could get this amazing game. You said that you paint your miniatures. Please, which paint do you use? Contrast paints from GW? Thanks for these videos. 😀😀
@@GamingRulesVideos thanks for the reply! Finally got to watch the rest of your video. I hope they have some more tinkering to do with it. It seems a little convoluted like the original rules were. Thanks for posting!!
You should try live streaming sometimes, its hard work and very stressful. That said, you are correct, and both Jason and I should have spotted that sooner. We did spot it though and fixed it, so all good.
Acknowledging all the hard work, time devoted and energy spent by Paul in preparing the video, I would kindly recommend to be more discrete when identifying mistakes. You do not have the faintest idea of the magnitude of Paul's input regarding the rules of the game. A game that we enjoy and play smoothly thanks to Paul's devotion and hard work
@@GamingRulesVideos Yours and your subscriber's polite responses to this comment have made me go straight to the Patreon page. Bravo! And, exceptional job on the gameplay. Can't wait for this to be available to get this awesome game back to the table.
What do you think of the solo / co-op mode?
And which is your favourite mission to play?
Game still way overly complicated. Very telling the guy who "developed this for a year" is studdering over how the game works.
Firstly, “studdering” isn’t a word. Secondly, the guy only worked on the solo mode, and is trying to advise on rules in real time over a remote connection that’s being live-streamed; maybe give the guy a break?

Yes thanks to Paul, his videos are excellent. I really enjoyed playing the solo/coop mode and demonstrating what it can do.
Exciting playthrough! While they stopped the spread of infection the heroes need a long hot bath after that beating. Thank you.

Brilliant to hear thanks Jason.
These solo rules seem to capture the spirit and tension of the multi-player game. Looks to be a good system.

I love this game. Question: When Ra‘s used rerolls, shouldn‘t have been those dice placed to the reroll part of the Villains Board?
Nice video. Could you do a similar session with the Conan coop/single player rules as well?

I use a variety of paints. Some contrast, but not much.
Really like this game, sadly it doesn’t get played enough and then we forget the rules😅
Even after playing the game over 200 times, I found out from Paul that I was playing one of the skills incorrectly!
Those Minis look really nice - are they all included in the base game?
yes, but unpainted.
Is there a link to the PDF for the newest released solo / coop rules?
Not as far as I know.
Why is the AI always activating tiles in the most expensive order? That seems needlessly wasteful.
Not sure. These were the prototype rules. It may have changed.
16:40 do the rerolls not go to the reroll zone when being used like the normal game?
Yep. We fix it soon after

Did he call Alfred "Arthur?"
Don t the cubes from reroll go to the reroll space, and not the exhausted space? WTF man? Pay more attention when doing a playthrough.
