It’s young men like you that’s given me the gumption to do this. I’m loving it and and I climb everyday, thank you from a 59 year old life long hunter. This beats the old days of the Baker stands. Thanks again
Thank you for the feedback! Glad to provide you with relatable content to keep you climbing, press on FireDog!
Ohh my goodness. I remember the Baker treestands. It was what kicked off the portable tree stand industry, but they were accidents waiting to happen. Lol
The prusic to hold ur pack is a game changer!! Great idea!
I don’t have a saddle setup but if I did I would mimic your exact setup. Very well thought. Hope saddle hunters find this video. Great job
Thank you for the feedback! You may just have to get into saddle hunting now 😁
Thank you for the incredible information passed along. I started saddle hunting this year. It has been great. Your one video has helped me find ways to simplify my entire hunting paradigm. Truly, thank you sir. I'm sub'd and all notifications on for future content! I'm going to try and soak up as much knowledge as I can from you.
I appreciate that, thank you for the kind words. Glad to help a fellow hunter with the learning curve!
@Saddlehntr you're truly wholesome and if you don't mind, I'd love to share your content to my FB page, in the hopes it would reach others.
Excellent job!!
Thanks!!
Excellent video. Got a few “better” ways for my setup. Thanks!
very good video!
So much nicer and more functional than any of the Alps Pathfinder or other lumbar bags.
Excellent. I learned a lot. Thanks so much for posting this.
No problem, thank you Brian!
A lot of time and thought went into this. I love it
Thank you for the feedback Brian! Definitely thought out, haha
Super helpful buddy, now I'm gonna buy some Kydex...
seems simple just cut kydex, heat, mold and attach in some form...hitting the UA-cam videos now to find a good resource on the specifics....the Tethrd videos are good, just need some details on fastening to bow etc... I am a new to Kydex...
Awesome video and demonstrations Ryan. I'm actually just getting into saddle hunting myself (this will be my first year) and have purchased 3 Shikar FXD 20" and a matched versa-aider from Back woods Mobile Gear so some additional height if needed. I opted to go for the Monster waist pack for the built-in frame, but we have a very similar set-up. I looked at the Hys strap also, but ultimately decided on the daisy chained am-steel gear hanger from Back Woods as well. I was really hoping you would be able to show how you fixed up your bow and quiver with the kydex attachments please? I love that idea of not having to have a hero clip or other sorts of clips on your hanger.
Check out g2outdoors, Greg has a great little video on how to create your own Kydex clips. I have links located in the description for what you need. Thank you for the feedback James! ua-cam.com/video/QeTMA3DWxcQ/v-deo.html
@@Saddlehntr Much appreciated
Great job man, good to see your wealth of knowledge being passed on. Great setup a lot similar to mine!
Thank you Jeremy!
Tethers has a platform xl pouch now.
Great video.....and helpful you have inspired me to do one on my set up this will be my 1st yr in a saddle
Awesome, glad to hear it was helpful! You’ll definitely cut the learning curve 😁
@Ryan Regan how do you make clips for the bow and quiver? Would love to see up close pictures. I like the way you attach them.
I have a link in my description under Kydex Sheets. Simply cut the kydex to size, heat it with a heat gun or hair dryer, etc. to mold the kydex and it sets up in minutes. Greg from G2 has a good tutorial video on this for tips ua-cam.com/video/QeTMA3DWxcQ/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/QBvyi5TrZAU/v-deo.html here’s another one on the bow quiver combo
Great video, how were the sticks attached to your pack? Appears to be a strap over your platform?
Thank you! I use a duffle bag strap and that’s threaded threaded through the shoulder straps on the pack. Those feed under the platform
Can you show more about the kydex bracket hangers you made.
Check out G2 Outdoors for their video on this, it goes into a little more detail. You can also follow my links in the description for the materials needed to Create your kydex hooks. ua-cam.com/video/QBvyi5TrZAU/v-deo.html
very well done sir!
This some kool shit!
💯👍
Hi i am wondering how the predator xl platform handles side pressure using the versalink i have this setup from tethrd but not loving the strap that comes with the platform.
Great question Randy, I saw a little wiggle with using the versalink. However with that said, the links are fixed so I don’t think it would get as tight as the strap. Im exploring the versalink option this off-season and will look to do a review on the strap offerings from tethrd soon
@@Saddlehntr cool please post if you come up with something good.

Sucks this pack isn't available anymore
I typically see a pack or two hit the Facebook forums every year.. you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled!
Is that the 1250
i really like this set up but i always giggle, over 2000 dollars of gear for maybe 500 dollars in meat, thatll probably be replaced in four years for the new hotness by many. no hate, just reflecting the experience can definitely be priceless. definitely have a bit of money in my set up as well as my garden, gotta pay to play.
100% agree, there’s definitely a balance getting started with saddle hunting and upfront costs like most new hobbies. It’s takes time to acquire all of the immediate needs. Saddle forums and market place are great resources to grab a few things second hand that are in fairly great shape!
Good grief been bow hunting 40 years that’s a nightmare!!

The MOST UNSAFE WAY TO CLIMB AN TREE ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER
Thank you for the feedback Don, are you suggesting using climbing sticks is dangerous or the connection method?
