@Kaffyboy. I'd say it's technically a Belevedere/Savoy made to look like a Fury because the Fury emblems aren't over the spears, the bumper wings are missing, and there is a single front fender antenna as opposed to the Fury's dual rear antenna setup. Not to get all snobby, my dad just has a '58 Belvedere and I've learned waaaay too much about these cars.
@TheWestEngine I believe the splutter for Christine's engine was due to the ageing they did for the car I believe there was a trick to do that bigger splutter
@Luxo087 I know. I've owned two Belvederes in the past. In the novel, King refers to Christine being a Fury, even though he also describes the car as being a four-door. A great story, but he didn't do his research.
@Luxo087 Any mistakes aside...it's a hell of a great novel. The movie version was terrific, but I loved the book even more. Have you seen vids of my Plymouth "Peggy Sue" on youtube?
@Kaffyboy I'm reading the novel and yes, King did not know that the fury didn't come in a 4 door model, if king would've done a little reserch, the car in the novel would've been a belvedere, not a fury.
@KellyPlymouth1958 You going with a full dual exhaust system? Then I would use Cherry Bombs aka Glasspacks. Smittys are an actual brand of glasspacks they are a straight through design, like Cherry Bombs. If she were my car I'd go with flat black for a while..... It would really make the chrome and gold stand out. She is a very sweet car as is tho!
It's a Belvedere? Judging by the gold trim along the side, the gold grills, gold headlight assembly, and gold in the center of the caps, plus the rumble of that engine which sounds like a 350 Golden Commando V8. Seems to my you got a Fury there with a different color. If it is a Fury, it should be Tan. The 1957 Fury came white only with a 318 Golden Commando V8.
If the Dude says it's a Belvedere, then it's a Belvedere. Fury came in one color: Buckskin Beige. This car is white. It has no Belvedere badges either and the gold paint is very wrong compared to Fury anodized Gold. Unlike '57, the Fury logo is inside/on top of the end of spear(missing here cuz it ain't a Fury) instead of on the fin in front of spear-end on '57s.
But then again, there is always conversions. I just looked at the back seat and it looks like a Belvedere. The Fury should have the indented rear seats.
@retroolschool These cars are renowned for the stupid 'push-button' design for the gear select. I had A LOT of trouble with that! The gearboxes also brought me a lot of problems with leaking gear fluid, and the 318 engines, supposedly a good engine, gave me no end of problems with gaskests, oil hoses, radiators, welsh plugs, and drive-chains. Plymouths look cool, but are simply NOT worth the trouble! I've been stupid enough to own two, so I should know!
1967 and later models with the 318 LA engine were more reliable after Chrysler did away with the push buttons in 1965 and went to the more standard column shift except for those models which had a center console.
Beautiful, but unfortunately someone changed to the Fury trim. The straight spear, without the ugly "hokey-stick" that cuts thru the fins halfway, looks so much cleaner and better.
@SOLID SNAKE SIMULATION 666 you have no clue about car design. The cleaner looking straight spear was the original design, it expresses Speed. The Hockey Stick came later and was a "we have to change something" in Order to make it just different approach. This rarely works. It cuts halfway thru the fin, with absolutely No relation to the lines of the car. It makes the car look shorter and busier, but you have to have taste to understand Forwardlook Design...
@SOLID SNAKE SIMULATION 666 PS i own 3 Forwardlook Fury Coupés and and a 60 desoto, one of them since 1988. Never owned a Car build after 1961 or outside of the US and you gay ass Tell me i have no taste in Cars.... Good one, reargunner.
Esse som me dá medo, é muito parecido com o som do motor da cena quando Christine chega no Darnell's depois de colocar fogo no Budy Repperton. Sorry, i don't speake english.
naaah that comment was 4 months ago... this could never be a fury, the fastest way to know is by noticing the lack of bumperwings... the colours could also be requested to the belvedere... so...
Nope, that's what I originally thought, but someone pointed out a number of details about the trim. This is a Belvedere with a bunch of Fury-ish gold trim.
@retroolschool everything is for sale mate :) and i was only asking how much he wanted for it. i'd buy one ready to go but far too expensive! a resto would do me fine :) anyone got one to offer? please feel free to message me
Why cant they use these designs, you know body, engine size and use the old materials but make them safer, use today’s emission controls but no computers and such Doesn't the companies and people buying cars today realize these older cars were way better than the cars they make today? Can a car of today last 50 years? I think not You are lucky if you get 3 years out of a car today. and the computers they use cause more than 78 percent of today's car's problems doesn't that tell them something
Beautiful symphony of the engine, I never get tired of watching this video just to hear that engine
Gotta love that engine idle. sounds just like Christine. One of the best cars ever!
The stock overlap on that cam gave it a nice chop.
Fantastic engine, great exhaust sound, the whole car is a great design, my favourite 😀
Oh so beautiful. I watch this over and over so much ahah
Me too 👍
My 58 Plymouth Fury went to California. I was told it was used in a movie back in the 80s.
Probably Christine.
Sounds just the way Christine did when she wasn't running properly
there is a huge difference you dumbass
@@janebook294 sounds exactly the same. You DUMBASS.
@TheWestEngine I believe the splutter for Christine's engine was due to the ageing they did for the car I believe there was a trick to do that bigger splutter
Sounds just like my Beige 58 Plymouth Fuey!
Go to the office, Buddy.
That sound is mean, cool, ominous, and soooo sexy. wow!
What a sound ! Thank you for sharing !! I love deep V8 sounds !!!
She is a Plymouth Fury!
Wow!and she also sounds mean like her sister Christine!!!
I hope your love for that car won't fade away
There's a Christine reference
Without doubt, one of the BEST looking cars EVER built !
@fordescort51 No. Fury's were the 'sports model', where as the Belvederes were the 'family car'.
pure music to my ears...no finer a sound
@Luxo087 I know. I've owned two Belvederes in the past. In the novel, King refers to Christine being a Fury, even though he also describes the car as being a four-door. A great story, but he didn't do his research.
What a sound! Awesome! Eargasm!
its nice to see it sprayed white like the original colours
i think these cars are so sexy and i love the sound of the engines in them there real mean , thanks for your vid.
What a Sound Sounds Wounderfull!
@Luxo087 Any mistakes aside...it's a hell of a great novel. The movie version was terrific, but I loved the book even more. Have you seen vids of my Plymouth "Peggy Sue" on youtube?
@Kaffyboy Please explain more, im familliar with thier rusting and poor body construction, but what else?
@KellyPlymouth1958 there are a lot of mopar sites on the net that can help with
the body tag .
that is one very cool car
body looks perfect. a rare find
you have a lot of fury-esque things going on there! real nice:)
Terrific sound!!
@Kaffyboy I'm reading the novel and yes, King did not know that the fury didn't come in a 4 door model, if king would've done a little reserch, the car in the novel would've been a belvedere, not a fury.
Winga dinga
Sounds like a hard working machine to me. Sounds awesome!
wow... instant favorite!

@YZFR1mart Theres 2 for sale here in Montreal, but since thier from a dealer u know theyre gonna cost more...
Fury? It has the gold trim.
her v8 purrs like a cat im glad some folks have kept them white instead of spraying every fury red and white
-Beautiful.

That baby means business. Can't imagine the amount of gas she is drinking just sitting there idling.
DAMM I LOVE THAT CAR

Any chance you still have this car and any updates?
paint it red is more in the spirit of christine
in white she got the look of the plymouth factory
I don't think this is a Belvedere, I think it's a Fury. It has gold anodising on the grill and hubcaps.
But then again, there is always conversions. I just looked at the back seat and it looks like a Belvedere. The Fury should have the indented rear seats.

omg awesome sound...
I wanna know if this is a 350 or any mopar bb running the old solid lifter dual carb 350 golden commando cam?

Nice!
Wonder why they took off the bumper wings.
All 58 Fury 2 doors were painted beige
I love these cars so much. But the engine is loping a little. still sounds great though. better than any modern v6 or inline 4.
i love this sound hows it sound like that?
@YZFR1mart Bro, just because this guy has his car her on youtube doesnt mean hes selling it, ESPECIALLY these cars!
@Kaffyboy the fury has 2 doors, the belvedere has 4
*o* cooooooooooool, awsome and sweeeeeet :). it makes me shiver to hear those old detroit cast iron idle and running (and i love it
does that have the original big block 350? or 361?
yes, but look at the bumpers, they're not from a fury.
beautiful car!! but sounds like it misfires
Hope mine gonna sound like this!!!
She sound wonderful. Looks a bit obsessive out of her eyes too.
BTW, are Thirdgen83 and Tundraboy05 married or something?
@Kaffyboy aren't that the same?
It sounds like a Sea Elephant
i want to buy this car :) how much you looking for it?
Yay! An actual Fury!
Belvedere with Fury trim.
Wow. I wish my engine was like that but unfortunatly its made in fiber...
S.L Morrison
@Kaffyboy right, i forgot, my bad, lol
damn i want this car. i'd give both legs for it.
nice nice nice nice nice
is that a belvedere converted to fury or an original fury?
Beautiful, but unfortunately someone changed to the Fury trim. The straight spear, without the ugly "hokey-stick" that cuts thru the fins halfway, looks so much cleaner and better.

what kind of engine does that baby have? i gotta know man!
sounds like someone used the sound track from the movie looped
does that have the dual 4's in it ?
i would kill to have a car like that, but you just don't find them in belgium :(
Esse som me dá medo, é muito parecido com o som do motor da cena quando Christine chega no Darnell's depois de colocar fogo no Budy Repperton.
Sorry, i don't speake english.
kkkkkkk o carro em si da medo mas é lindo
Gustavo Henrique o ronco do motor é igualzinho mesmo
naaah that comment was 4 months ago... this could never be a fury, the fastest way to know is by noticing the lack of bumperwings... the colours could also be requested to the belvedere... so...
Are you sure thats a Belvedere and not a Fury?
it's a fury!
Nope, that's what I originally thought, but someone pointed out a number of details about the trim. This is a Belvedere with a bunch of Fury-ish gold trim.
What’s the difference between a Belvedere and a Fury?
Belvedere was more of the luxury styled one and the fury was more of the performance styled one. Fury was complete top of the line.
Please somebody start to make cars like this again... hhahahahah
its a belvedere the fury was not painted in red i believe in 58
paint it red and itd be more than perfect
@retroolschool everything is for sale mate :) and i was only asking how much he wanted for it. i'd buy one ready to go but far too expensive! a resto would do me fine :) anyone got one to offer? please feel free to message me
