    This is one of the most thorough, yet concise, paint reviews I’ve ever watched… and I’ve seen a lot! Great job, Liz… thank you.

    Thanks for detailed review, picked up a set on Amazon for £26.99 as a limited time deal. Now price sitting at £29.99. Currently swatching out paints and colours are lovely.

    When I saw that this was a review of paint, I told myself "you do NOT need any more supplies, you do NOT need any more supplies" and watched it for the sheer enjoyment of hearing and seeing you try out new things! I love your in depth reviews and how excited you get about new or interesting colors! Thanks, Liz!

    I do like it overall as reviewed. I have several of their collections as well as tubes and cotton paper blocks. But I suspect that with the formation of BRICS we are in for some odd trade times ahead while we find financial footing for international monetization. Not my forte. I would rather just be able to find great art supplies from any country or region, but we live in an interesting time to say the least, eh? Thanks for your thorough review, Liz!

    Interesting pan set, like the black and the colors. Price good US, would probably purchase it for travel! It’s easy to purchase new items, part of the Painting pattern! Thanks for such a great teaching video, Karen Dirmish USA

    I bought the 24 professional set last year. I like that most of the colors are single pigment and highly lightfast which you pay for. Color intensity is also good. I get frustrated with lower quality paints, so I try to get better ones- on sale.😊
    Good video, and thank you!

    Thanks for this, Liz. I am in America, and I agree that the cost differences can’t be easily addressed. I think that artists and our supplies are on the very end of groups that could do anything to effectively reduce prices, or to make them available in other countries. Discontinued pigments come easily to mind, as the automotive and industrial industries pretty much drive pigment availability. I just wonder with all the paints that have come out in the past few years from Paul Ruben alone I wonder what are the true differences between them? Personally I probably have more paint then I may use in my lifetime so I want to spend my dollars where I’ll get the best bang, so to speak. Thanks for helping with this review. It makes a difference 🌺

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  Рік тому +2

      Yes artists are small fry compared to the automotive industry! I was simply surprised at the disparity as usually prices are roughly inline when they are imported to both places. Daniel Snith is expensive for us, as it is imported from the US, but that makes sense. Perhaps there are different tariffs

    For me personally, i pass on "PR" because they are made in China, but i still enjoy your swatching😊

    Hullo Liz, I do enjoy watching your videos and listening to your reviews! I was quite disappointed with the 24 half pan set of Paul Rubens paints that I purchased. I took out the pans and filled out 24 pans with DaVinci Paints and my wife really liked the pink metal palette! I recently purchased the 24 Lukas Studio palette from Jerry’s Artarama.(located in NC-USA) I got it for $12.99 on super sale and the paint is student grade but I had no plans to use it, but the palette is just amazing! The half pans are smaller like this set but the extruded paint blocks popped right out and I used my DaVinci tubes to fill it right up! I have struggled with some of the metal palettes but most are so similar that you can interchange your pans so easily! I like the travel brush included in the Lucas palette too! Sometimes the plastic palettes are so versatile and worth the breaking in period to “fix” any beading on the mixing areas. I have used toothpaste and some elbow grease on my plastic surfaces. Thank you for sharing this palette with us. Please take care, be safe and enjoy your day!

      there are some great palettes around to fill yourself. I’ve just got a ‘moisturising’ palette which has a silicone seal.

    These are beautiful colors & the palette/package design is definitely nice. The fact that there’s a huge difference in price for Europe & America bothers me (I’m American) & the fact that it is limited for availability to most artists is also a disappointment. I have friends in other countries that I can’t recommend this to if I like it makes me not want to get it, despite the good quality of the product. Thanks for sharing this wonderful information with us.

    Thank you dear Liz for a very thorough review . As you mentioned that this it is not so available in other countries. I have a similar problem with a set called White Nights (Russia) NOT 😢 available in South Africa. Please do a review if you have a set. Although I am printmaker I have fallen in love with watercolour ❤ expanding my sets and working on canvas with your watercolour ground recipe.
    Just bought a Mungayo set with my birthday money.

      glad to hear watercolours have you in their grip! unfortunately, due to the war in Ukraine, I would not feel right reviewing Russian watercolours at this time. Rosa watercolours are from Ukraine. I’m told there are very similar. Can you get hold of those?

    • @cryseldaventer8567
      @cryseldaventer8567 Рік тому +1

      @LizChadertonArt will look into them. YES , I absolutely share your sentiments about Russia. Unfortunately our government is harming our already dreadful economy with their alliance.....
      Let's just do our art. Thank you for your valuable contributions and reviews.
      Still struglingling with workable fixing.

    Thank you for the update. I’m in the United States, but I don’t think I would buy it. Just wondering why they think the price should be so much more in other parts of the world and other parts of the world are getting a little lol it makes me a little leery. Thanks for all you do Liz to help us on our journey.

      I’m really not sure, as I don’t think distribution costs in Europe would be significantly higher. I don’t know.

    Your reviews are always interesting. Any plans to review the Rosá Watercolours? They have quite a few granulating colours. I'm trying to get hold of it. Besides being of good quality (as I've heard), it would be nice to support a Ukranian company.
    Regarding international availability, it may not help Australians, but if it is in one EU country it should be easy to order from another one without customs.

    • @LizChadertonArt

    They don’t look like standard half pans…. Surely they are smaller?

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  Рік тому

      I think they are and it’s the black box making them look smaller. I’m away from home at the moment, so I’m afraid I can’t check.

    • @LizChadertonArt

      or perhaps there are tariff and trade agreements. I really don’t know

    • @Iwanttodrawachicken
      @Iwanttodrawachicken Рік тому +2

      Most likely this. Most non perishable products are shipped via the surface like on a boat, trainor truck - usually via boat. It's a far shorter distance from China to North America than to Europe.
      Ps, thanks for the review. Interesting paints.

    • @LizChadertonArt
      @LizChadertonArt  Рік тому

      @@Iwanttodrawachicken it’s just I have not noticed such a significant difference in similar goods with other companies. Obvs if goods are manufactured in the US, they end up expensive in Europe and vice versa, but to date Chines products have in my experience been closely priced. Anyway, US gain and our loss on this occasion!

  • @TheLiznz
    @TheLiznz Рік тому +1

    That pricing is definitely odd. Perhaps they think we Europeans have more money to spend?

      I don’t know the answer. I am wondering if there are different tariffs on imports?
