Hey everybody! Something that I meant to mention in the video, is that couldn't find a place to get replacement pans open stock, other than maybe Aliexpress? Which is a major bummer. If you know of a place to get replacement pans open stock, let us know in the comments!
That’s a beautiful painting!! I love autumnal scenes too and took some photos today that I want to paint - leaves, mushrooms, apples… I love the coloured cobs so maybe I should try painting them too 😎
Thank you! I have been out taking reference photos lately, too! It's my favorite time of year! So much inspiration! You should absolutely try painting some colorful corn. It's so much fun!
On your schmincke palette just take the pans out, bend the metal arms in, then put the pans back in. You can do this for any palette like that. The arms are bent back when you receive them because the schmincke wrapping adds bulk.
Oh, I know! I did that when I first got them because, like you said, the way they were all wrapped adds bulk. I have done it a few times, pretty much every time I have gotten into the palette. And they are all loose again. I have never had this issue with a palette before, with them loosening back up . It's so strange.
@@CautionArtistatPlay OK that is definitely odd. I do know that the schmincke pans are shorter, so the arms have to be bent a bit further and you have to push them all the way down, they sort of double snap in. Maybe? But that's really a bummer, I several schmincke palettes and they don't do that. :(
Maybe mine is just a dud lol. I have pushed them down so hard it hurts my thumb, and then I get worried about snapping them from too much pressure. I'm probably just going to switch them to a different palette at some point. But I like having the branded tin.
I just add additional halfpans into each row, which usually helps them stay put. Or maybe a glue dot under each pan? It is annoying though, I totally agree. The Schmincke palettes also have very sharp metal edges…
I love to watch you do watercolors since I absolutely can’t get the hang of them lol! I’m too much of a control freak, so there’s too many other art supplies I love that I can’t make myself stress over these! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the beautiful inspiration. I don't have actual watercolor paints. But I can't wait to try painting some of these with Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils and Inktense pencils.
That's odd, but my set of Paul Ruben's 24 watercolours only has 5 colours the same as yours, and mine was in a plastic containter - not a tin, no fancy box just a cardboard sleeve. I wonder why? Now I want to see what you thought of them even more!
I believe they offer more than one set. Is yours a half pan set or a full pan set? I think I have seen a full pan set of 24 that looks similar to how you described your set.
That's what I thought. I do like the plastic box though as you get a thingie to lever out the palette, which reveals a bigger palette underneath. I like to take it out Urban Sketching. Handy size.

This is gorgeous!
Thank you, Lindsay!! 🥰
these are stunning, they almost look like gems ❤❤
🥰 It's funny you say that because I actually named the final piece "Autumn Gems"

Yeah, they are sharp! I do have a few extra pans that aren't as lightfast that I could probably cram in there to keep things in place! Lol

Thank you! Lol! Yeah, watercolors definitely like to do their thing!
Add a magnet to the bottom of your Scha and they will stay in place. I Love all your videos, thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world.
Good idea, thank you! I'm so glad to hear that you enjoy my videos. Thanks for watching!! 🥰
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you!! 🥰
I love my Paul Rubens. I have that set and the sparkly set. My tin is dark blue. Awesome painting! ❤
I have had my eyes on the sparkly ones too, but lord knows I don't need them! Haha!

Those will be great for it! I usually draw corn like this with colored pencils, so watercolor pencils will be perfect! 😁

No, it's just half pans.
Hmm..weird!

Oh, that's cool! The one I saw online looked like it was pretty nice. They put out some pretty cool products!
Nice video…. Thx
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
Word of caution, Caution…
Don’t leave your palette near a sunny window or your adorable pink palette will end up a dull white. 😭
Oh my gosh! Thanks for the warning! What a bummer!
@@CautionArtistatPlay I know! It made me sad. The paint is still pretty great though.
Glad to hear the paint has held up!
