It would be truly helpful in every woodturning video online if tool flutes were red (or some other visible color) to make tool direction obvious to the viewer. Sometimes the shiny steel looks the same from every angle, so I playback the video to watch your thumb. 🙂 Your videos are thorough yet concise, and you make woodturning look so effortless: something to which one can aspire.
It truly is a beautifully turned little box. I really appreciate the aesthetic of that hinge too. That particular box, in that wood choice, would be a great gift for anyone who works in the fast-food burger industry, especially in a managerial position. They could keep it on their desk, looking like a burger bun, as it kinda does. That finial fits it beautifully, too. Great job, Mr. Waldt
Excellent vid Mike, I have been thinking of trying one of these hinges and after watching you I will give it a go. Thanks for sharing. IanB (the colour critic)
Hi Mike... Really nice box and very well turned... this was a very clear and helpful tutorial... I bought one of these hinges from Jon and it's just waiting for the time to get on with it... I did notice that you have to be very precise with the measurements... more so than with the smaller ones... But it is a very solid bit of kit... Great video as always... Take care...All the best.....Andy
Great box and video. You made it look so easy with your guidance and explanations. Don't tell the missus but I'm going online to order some of those hinges. not sure if we have that make here in Oz but if not from the UK it will come. Well done
Amazing as he is all of your work, Mike. Those hinges are absolutely amazing. I don’t know if they are available here or not but I will certainly be looking for them. Great video, my friend!👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦😃😃😃 Happy turning, …..Gord
Nice little box, just one question, what glue did you use to attach the hinge ring to the box please? I am concerned about squeeze out, and spoiling the whole thing, as opposed to not enough and the joint lets go. your input would be greatly appreciated.
@@MikeWaldt thanks Mike, I was not sure if CA would be strong enough. I will allow it to cure naturally, this should give it the most strength. I have been watching your videos all day, and getting new ideas, they are great.
That is a very nice little box Mike. The hinge is a very pretty piece of hardware and it seems reasonably priced. Does the company ship to the US? Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

Mike
Oh, what a lovely little box...the hinge is awesome! Are they available in the US?
Thanks Carol much appreciated. Yes they are as Prokraft here in the UK ship to the US 🙂
Looks lovely, is that an end grain blank you have used or crossgrain
Thanks Mathew ... it was an end grain turning.
Sweet
Thank you Patricia.
Nice little box, just one question, what glue did you use to attach the hinge ring to the box please?
I am concerned about squeeze out, and spoiling the whole thing, as opposed to not enough and the joint lets go. your input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Roger. I used medium CA and found it worked well. Tiny amounts all around the recess of the hinge. Hope this helps. Cheers. Mike
@@MikeWaldt thanks Mike, I was not sure if CA would be strong enough. I will allow it to cure naturally, this should give it the most strength. I have been watching your videos all day, and getting new ideas, they are great.
@@rogergregerson348 My advice is not to ever use accelerator when looking for a strong bond as it makes the joint brittle. Your comment is spot on 🙂
What glue do you use?
I ysedmedium CA on this.

Yes we do 😁
Thanks Glen. Yes they do as Jon said below 🙂
Mike, great video - thank you.
What sort of glue did you use?
Thanks Mike, ah forgot to mention that! I used medium CA glue.
