The 2017 Land Rover Discovery luxury SUV offers real value despite its significant cost. With sedan handling and ride quality, room for 7 people and their cargo, and the ability to comfortably and safely get off-road, this new vehicle replaces the LR4 and returns the Discovery model to the U.S. market after a 13-year hiatus. Unibody construction with aluminum in the frame benefits handling and efficiency, leaving the new Discovery about 800 pounds lighter than the retired LR4.
The new Discovery offers two engines, a 340-hp gas V6 and a 254-hp 6-cylinder diesel. The gas engine can get the SUV to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds, but has EPA estimates of 16 mpg city and 21 highway. The diesel improves mileage to 21 mpg city and 26 highway for an additional $2,000. Land Rover offers plenty of other ways to boost the Discovery’s price, including backseat entertainment, a trailer hitch with Trailer Stability Control, and an “Activity Key,” a waterproof bracelet that unlocks the doors. No. You need a ford for that. Try an Explorer or an edge

ive test driven this and have to disagree on alot of this... the truck feels like a huge lump on the road and the engine sounds like im back in a f150 from 1985

You never mentioned anything about the windscreen leaking , both passenger windows falling out.
Rear tailgate and rear light clusters filling with water, multiple ECU faults, steering wheel airbag exploding randomly, useless main dealer and the creme de le crème crankshaft made from toffee.
Worse car I’ve ever had.
Such a shame now a ugly Discovery especially from the side and the back, from the side looks a bit like the old Vauxhall frontera. i preferred the boxy looks.

The new design is freaking horrible, especially the rounded edges and the back end, and no one talks about how the 3rd row seating has way less space than the LR4

This design is bullshit to what the 2016 LR4 image is like. The square head lamps are gone for a bullshit design. I am not buying that 2019 design at all.
The square box type is better image for the LR4.

I love the ideas of land rover, but it looks like the ford explorer way too much, and expensive repairs poor reliability... Why can't land rover do it right?

Heavily hyped, hugely overpriced. I donot want to pay for a over-designed poor quality car.
You have nothing to worry about with the Disco then, the quality is exceptional and rather than over-designed, its right-designed. Take one for a drive, I think you'll be mightily impressed like I was.
This is a thoroughly good-quality and highly capable vehicle. The nicest way to pull a horse box.
