Love that slide out control panel, pure 007! In the 70s and throughout the 80s, the VCR, which used similar rotating head drum and mechanical parts to Mini DV, was the size of a dinner tray and by the mid 90s Sony and other DV camera manufacturers had the video recorder/playback mechanics down to the size of a cigarette packet! Amazing, like DAT also which was tiny. How the hell did they do it!
Wow what a beauty I still have my Sony SLVR 1000 super vhs I bought back in ‘96 even thought I don’t use it anymore (it eats tapes) but I keep it on display in my av rack because it is such a cool looking machine it was the epitome of vhs and I got a lot of use out of it
Wow, the recorder seems to be very calm! I have a bought such a machine for a few days, but mine has a very noisy fan, so I will replace it. Hope, it will work! ^^
MY SONY VIDEO RECORDER WAS SO SMART. ÓNLY IF I WATCH A VIDEOTAPE COMPLEATLY. IT REWINDS THE VIDEOCASSETTE WITH THE HIGHEST SPEED. AND A FEW MOMENTS BEFORE ZERO POINT. IT SLOWS A LITLE BIT DOWN. BUT MANY PEOPLE LOOK A PART FROM A VIDEO CASSETTE. AND THEN REWIND ONLY THAT PART. AND THEN THE VIDEO REWINDS SO SLOWLEY. TO PROTECT TE TAPE. BUT IF YOU DON'T CLEAN THE PARTS THE TAPE GETS TO. THE TAPE GETS STUCK TO SOME PLACES.

Can this use hi8 tapes?
