You speak my kind of language, love Lori Holt found her through quilting quite a few years ago now, and l too watch all the American floss tube, love FQS and Priscilla and Chelsea, Country stitchers etc. I have discovered cross stitch since shielding for almost a year now and it’s definitely been a life saver, l have made a few project bags from scraps of those precious fabric pieces you can never bear to part with, Liberty & Lori to name a few! I too use the press and stitch method l think l saw it on Sewing Quarter with Victoria Peat, it is great for getting an accurate finish with out spending time with my friend the un picker! Look forward to following your progress and picking up lots of hints and tips, and a big thanks to FQS it took someone in USA to find you!
Lovely video! Keep stitching...you're coming along great with your Glitter Village! My ancestors were from Suffolk, would love to visit one day! I love your conservatory where you were filming...loved that it rained!! I live in the town over from where Lori Holt lives in Utah USA. She's great with all her tutorials, fabric and such!! Keep doing videos! ❤ You didn't ever seem nervous at all!! 😁
Congratulations on your first flosstube video! Your little cushions are so cute, and your adaption of the Mary Poppins chart is great- much more interesting than a straight row of houses. Thanks for sharing your stitching, looking forward to seeing some more.
Hi Nicola! I have been a big time Knitter as well but since COVID pandemic one year ago, I’ve fallen down flosstube and cross stitch rabbit hole BIG TIME. I just started my own flosstube as well. I came back to watch your first flosstube after just watching your most recent episode. I’m going to take a crack at making a project bag using Lori Holts farm girl vintage book and your and Liz’s tutorials!
Oh, I'm so glad your flosstube came up in my feed! Greetings from Pennsylvania. I'm so glad I was able to visit the Cotswolds and Oxford last year before this COVID disaster. So envious that you go to a quilt show in Cambridge of all places! Lovely! Your union Jack flag treatment was perfect. And please keep your conservatory view for us with your delightful birds and backyard. It's so soothing for XS channel! Cheers!
Hi lana. I was in the chipping camden just before easter 2019. How funny it would be if you were there at the same time. I had my eye out for stitchers but didn’t see you haha. Linda from northern virginia
@@shieldsybirdknits oh wow...wasnt it Lovely? I brought home a tea cup set from that town from 1908! We made it to several Cotswolds villages that day. So glad we got there pre COVID! Happy stitching!
Just dipping my "toes" back into cross stitch after 20+ years.....And want to start with "smalls" until I see if I will like it before I tumble down this rabbit hole. Absolutely love finding friends in the UK to watch! Kristie from Crosshatch Quilts mentioned you. Love!
Hello, I just discovered you and really enjoyed your first floss tube- I’m new to watching floss tube and really enjoyed your video. I loved your comment about the “stitching brain” and think you are very clever with your fabric selections and finishes! I look forward to catching up with you. I also enjoyed seeing the birds and hearing he rain. I’m in Southern California and am now surrounded by “May Grey” on the coast. Happy stitching!
Great flosstube-Love love your wonderful yard and conservatory-please do not apologize for the rain I enjoyed that!! Continue on your path you did great
I really enjoyed your video. You did a great job and your stitching is beautiful. The rain was quite relaxing. Looking forward to seeing your future videos. 😊
Hi Nicola, congratulations on a great first video 😊👍 Your stitching is lovely and I’m looking forward to seeing more. Best wishes from sunny (at the moment 😉) Scotland x
Hi and welcome to Flosstube! I really enjoyed your video. I loved listening to the rain, actually. I was going to mention to you that Fat Quarter Shop sells Sticky Board so you might check there for some. Not sure how the cost compares to Amazon, though. Will be looking forward to your next floss tube. Happy stitching!! 😄🍁🦉🍂🦔🍁🐿🍂🐌🧡🤎💛
So enjoyed your video Your projects are beautiful I loved hearing your rain in the background Envious ~ as we so need rain in California Enjoy your stitching
Hi Nicola, really enjoyed your Flosstube. I love all the projects you are doing. I recently got back into cross stitch after 20 years. I'm only on with about 2 projects at the moment but there are so many I'd like to do. I love the glitter village and the Lori Holt little cushions you've done. 🤗
Loved your pattern choices and the changes you made to each, especially the Mary Poppins going to circular-clever! I love the rain and your beautiful garden behind you 🌺 #subscribed
Congratulations on your first Flosstube! Fantastic job👍👍 i love all your WIPS and your conservatory and garden is beautiful! Can’t wait to join you again.
Refreshing to listen to your video. I enjoy the English grammar and different dialects. Your pieces are so cute. Priscilla, The House Wives of cross stitch has stitched Glitter Village as well. Such a pretty piece. I love the sound of rain and when I go to bed I ask Alexa to play soft rain sounds. Just love it. My name is Sharon, my 3 girls are married. I live in Wichita Kansas, USA. You are lovely and look forward to seeing you again.
I totally enjoyed your 1st video with a WIP parade of your projects!! I am an eclectic stitcher as well, but have fell in love with samplers in the last two years!! See you next time. HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERY DAY IN 2020!!
Hi, Nicola just found your floss tube channel and need to say that I loved it. You and I have very similar taste, I’m doing the prim stitch series of FQS and I also changed the flag from my country Puerto Rico and I did “ Feels like Home” too. Need to tell you that I too have terrible eyesight and I did invest in the halo light but bought it from Amazon was cheaper than in FQS, it’s a wonderful little light. I do knit and quilt too. Next week will be starting the Lori Holt quilt Prim and proper quilt kit. Thanks for sharing all your projects and looking forward for your next floss tube.
Hi Nicola! Wonderful 1st Flosstube! What beautiful projects you have made. I used to cross-stitch a lot and have recently wanted to get back into it. I get really confused understanding the different fabrics, though, as Aida was what was available when I did it. I think I’d have to get a magnifying lamp! Excited to see your quilting as well. And I’m a huge Lori Holt fan too! Have a lovely week ❤️ Suzette
Welcome to the rabbit hole of cross stitch.😃 Like your flag change I have done that several times but to the Aussie Flag. I am an Aida stitcher - I have been for years, I have tried even-weave and linen, and my brain doesn't work to do 2 over 2. I find Aida works for all types of stiches, and it takes dye very well ; you can get some good effects. If you want to get smaller Aida try 16 count or 18 count. I use DMC as they are colour fast - as years ago I regularly included my cross stich in my quilts. The Aida worked really well and held up often better than the quilt around it. I also used waste canvas to stitch on towels and blankets. The boards may be Lori Holt - Design Boards, there is a video on her You-tube (Also FQS) that shows you how to make them. Have you tried Anna from Stitch Roadies for cross stitch and Quilt Roadies for quilts?
Great video!! I really enjoyed it. Your Lori Holt stitching and finishing are so pretty. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Happy stitching....................
Hi Nocala, so glad I found you on floss tube, need to catch up so am starting with #1! I am in Arizona, retired from teaching due to the pandemic and just returned to cross stitch. I too am a big fan of Lori Holt and Fat Quarter shop so love seeing your beautiful work! I especially like the sparkly blue fabric for your Christmas pillow. Thanks for sharing, I look forward to catching up on all of your videos. Stay well!
Your video just popped up on my tablet and I really have enjoyed watching you. You did a great job on changing your flag ! It really looked like it was waving. Looking forward to your next video......Teresa
Your channel was mentioned on Country Stitchers. I'm glad I checked you out! You did great on your video!!! I like how you hold your projects up for a long time. I just recently got started back with cross stitching after a 15 year break and, yes, my eyes are NOT the same. I had to borrow my husbands clamp on magnifying light...as nice bright light and my readers were not enough. Maybe someday I'll find a magi-light on a stand that can sit by my chair. The sound of the rain was calming...I loved it!
Hi Kathy , thank you for watching ! Great that you are back to cross stitching, a floor lamp is a worthwhile investment for sure. Do you remember which episode of Country Stitchers Flosstube it was so I can thank them ? Xx
@@bumblestitches I've been watching new and old videos of Country Stitchers. I think you've been mentioned a few times. Maybe the latest mention in V109.
Hi Nicola. Really enjoyed your video and seeing your pieces. Such nice work. Like you, I took a break from cross stitch in the 1980's or early 1990's, and am amazed at how much has changed! Keep up the good work, and look forward to your next episode. Judy Sigsworth
Hello Nicola- I love that we can enjoy your garden. I just picked up crossstitching a year ago after a 35 year hiatus. Love it. Please do share the British / European Floss Tube Channels. I have a few pattern from a lovely woman from Kent, SusieTee Designs. I would love for you to share what cross stitching designers, floss, fabrics, notions are popular in the UK. And what your preCOVID experience was as far as shopping, stitching in groups, periodicals, etc.
Just came across your flosstube...I enjoyed seeing your finish...it is beautiful...and all of your wips are gorgeous...I love The Fat Quarter Shop too! Will look for your next video...
Hi from southern Spain! Great job on your video which I enjoyed. What beautiful pieces you are working on and I loved your garden and the sound of rain!
I quite enjoyed uour first flosstube. Hello, my name is Debora Carroll and I am from Nashville, Tennessee in the US. I think your projects look great! I loved your little pillows. I, too, am working on the Prim Stitch Series and was stitching thr fourth month while I watched your flosstube. Let's keep in touch. Good job!
I'm sitting here enjoying a beautiful fall morning in the US and found your first Flosstube. One of the things I like most about this is that artists and crafters from everywhere in the world can reach out and connect with each other. It's just the best, isn't it? Welcome!
I loved your Floss Tube video! No apologies for the rain, I love the rain. All your pieces are just lovely, I too am a fan of all things Lori Holt. I subscribed so I’ll be looking forward to more shares from you. I am a long time stitcher but just discovered Floss Tube. Thank you and hello from North Carolina in the U.S.A.
Welcome to FlossTube Nicola! I love your Sampler from 1998. And your Glitter Village WIP is so pretty on the aida. I LOVE THE SOUND OF THE RAIN! You have such a beautiful backdrop to film with.
Ohhh that's the effect of metallic threads. I am just a newbie. I started again (because I stopped for 18 years after I gave birth to my daughter) during this pandemic. I must say, I was encouraged to do small cute patterns like yours. I love them! Really, I am still enjoying so far!
I am loving your floss tube video. All your old and new projects are lovely. Your setting is also beautiful...I even enjoyed your little rain shower. I hope to see you again soon..you did a great job!
Just watched you for the first time and you were anything BUT nervous -you were quite a natural in front of the camera and did a bang-up job! I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for your sharing!
Just came across this first video, and it is wonderful! I'm from New England in the states and you are the first floss tuber I have watched from outside the U.S., and I thoroughly enjoyed everything....including the rain!!! :) Your stitching is beautiful and I also have struggled with the switch from Aida which I started on back in the 80's, to linens, etc. it's getting easier, I did get a fantastic standing OTT light that helps so much at night. It has 3 light settings, and I can bend and move the neck, and it's made stitching much easier for me. Look forward to seeing more of you!
So glad I found your floss tube. I loved your tiny pillow finishes. The patches and buttons on the back were so cute. The sparkly village is cute as well. I'm also working on a Modern Folk Emb piece - O Tidings of Comfort and Joy. It's so wonderful to see other stitchers in the Europe. I live in New York. I can thank the virus for finding floss tube AND and cross stitch. Thanks for your video.
Thank you so much Nicola. I am used to watching your knitting podcasts and was delighted that you are now dedicating time to stitching. Like you I became a convert during lockdown. Before that I was busy knitting socks and shawls, and doing a spot of crochet. I had not attempted cross stitch since my school years a very very long time ago. It was while watching Sherrie of ‘Ollie and Bella’ that I became hooked. She stitched a Unicorn for Bella and started an ABC sampler for Jessie and so I wanted to have a go. Sherrie makes everything look interesting 😊 so that was the start. I then started watching flosstubes and now can’t get enough of seeing all the lovely projects and Samplers. I love everything you’re stitching and I am looking forward to your next episode. Let us know which magnifier/light you purchase, as I need one too, and then I can see what is available in the U.K. Huge thanks 💕
Absolutely loved seeing a fellow brit on flosstube. Loved your finishes and wips i look forward to seeing many more from you. Well done for being braver than me.
New subscriber! I’ve been a knitter, scrapbooker, quilter and now cross stitching. The last time I stitched was over 20 years ago and picked it up again during the lockdown. Your stitching is lovely!
I have been catching up on my floss tube videos and happily happened across your channel. I love everything you are stitching on including all of the Lori Holt patterns. It was so peaceful to hear the rain in the background of your video. I live in MN where it has been snowing with more snow on the way tomorrow afternoon until Sunday. Might as well stitch! ☃️
I’m so happy I ran across your Flosstube channel today! I love your creativity with Mary Poppins, and charting the Union Jack instead of the US flag is fabulous. Doing your video in your conservatory was so cheerful, and the sound of the rain was a bonus, so keep it up! As for magnification, I do use a bright light but I’m able to work on linen using readers with 3x magnification. It’s definitely an inexpensive option to try. Be well, and happy stitching. Lee xo
Welcome! You did a wonderful job on your first video and I'm already looking forward to seeing more of your stitching! Your garden looks amazing and is the perfect backdrop. Thanks for taking the time to share with us and happy stitching!
Hi Nicolas it's great to have you back, oh goodness I haven't done any cross stitch in ages but I am going to dig mine out again I feel so inspired seeing all your lovely projects. Can't wait for the next episode and to see your quilting. Take care x
how nice to meet you! I love how you changed the flag on the patriotism and industry! It looks great! I have been collecting all of those charts but haven't started yet. I also have the quilt kit! LOL! I love every single piece you have shown!
I too, am a knitter. I just got back into cross stitch again about 6 months after a 30 year break. I started watching some floss tube and was motivated to start again. I couldn’t believe all the changes! I did the Feels Like Home project, also. I made it into a cute pillow
You do such beautiful needlework, Nicola! I'm so glad I found you, as I am just getting into cross stitch after many years. I've been quilting for 38 years and also knit socks. Looking forward to your next videos! Your garden is gorgeous!
I found your Floss Tube quite by accident this morning. I pressed something on my iPhone and up came your video. What a lovely discovery! Welcome to floss tube!
Hi from Florida! Loved your channel your work is beautiful ! I subscribed to the Lancaster stitcher she to is new to floss tube but not stitching so it is so fun to be able to connect to stitchers everywhere!

I enjoyed meeting you, and seeing your stitching in your first flosstube. After discovering Flosstube, I returned to cross stitch this year after doing papercrafting for 20+ years. It was an awakening. Cross stitch has kept me sane this year, and it's been fun finding the next project. I now have many "nexts" on hand.

Lovely job! So glad I stumbled upon your first flosstube. Your conversion to the British flag on the Prim Stitch is really good! I’m in the club but haven’t started yet & I agree the aurifloss is lovely to stitch with. I have always been quite the Anglophile and recently found that my ancestry is 70% British so I guess that explains it! Look forward to your next episode, in the meantime, happy stitching!
What a delightful floss tube channel! You are so talented...love everything about your presentation. I'll keep watching for you, Nicola. You made my day...next time, I'll bring my stitchery!
Really enjoyed your first floss tube .Its great to see another UK stitcher. I too came back to cross stitch after many years of doing other forms of stitch. Floss tube has been a revelation during lockdown and I would say yes to a magnifier just to save the strain on your eyes when using high count fabrics. Looking forward to your next video.

Enjoyed your stitching and your first flosstube.
Thank you! 😊
Love your first video cannot wait to watch more! Also a British flosstuber! Xx
Yay! Thank you! I'll check you out xx
Thank you so much, I love seeing Sherries makes too ! I do have a new light and will share in the next video xx
Just joined your channel and starting with #1. Looking forward to watching the upcoming videos as well. Great job!

So loved your flosstube and have subscribed. There is definitely a lack of UK UK flosstube and I look forward to your next posting!
Thank you so much!
You are beautiful stitcher. So enjoyed your video😘
New subscriber! I’ve been a knitter, scrapbooker, quilter and now cross stitching. The last time I stitched was over 20 years ago and picked it up again during the lockdown. Your stitching is lovely!
Thank you xx

I too, am a knitter. I just got back into cross stitch again about 6 months after a 30 year break. I started watching some floss tube and was motivated to start again. I couldn’t believe all the changes! I did the Feels Like Home project, also. I made it into a cute pillow

Enjoyed your visit. Lovely pieces and yes Lori Holt’s stitch cards are very gratifying and a quick stitch. Be Well
Oh thank you! Love those little stitch cards ! xxx
You are so welcome! xx
Just found your channel! Enjoyed your quilts and your floss tube so far. You have some great taste in projects and I so enjoyed seeing them. Thank you for sharing!!!

Lovely to see your WIPs and you did a great job presenting your first floss tube. Get yourself a stand alone magnifying lamp it’s well worth the investment!! TFS

Oh thank you!
Hello. Very much enjoyed your broadcast. Your stitching is beautiful. I too got back into cross stitch during the quarantine. Soo happy I did. You are lovely and I look forward to seeing you again soon 😀
Thank you so much x
Hello from Illinois USA... I have enjoyed your video...will be looking forward to your next one!
Awesome! Thank you! xx
You did great on your first Flosstube! Love your finishes and wips. Can you please tell me the designer for your Mary Poppins?
What a delightful floss tube channel! You are so talented...love everything about your presentation. I'll keep watching for you, Nicola. You made my day...next time, I'll bring my stitchery!
I really enjoy your floss tube, your a joy to listen too, love your stitching
Oh thank you! xx
Thank you so much! xx
