The test driver is Josef Král, former Formula 2 driver, he won a race in Spa

As Callum’s sister, I can tell you that I, too, find his smile annoying (especially when he wins something). However, he’s not lying when he says that he has been dreaming of this since he was a kid, so I’ll let it go just this once.
Man once they sort out their audio balancing issues, these boys will have properly scratched the top gear itch in terms of entertainment and production value. Their faces on the wide angle while hitting those higher gforces were excellent.

Whenever I watch these videos I feel like you should be the new Top Gear team, and here you are at the TG test track 😂
I thought the "Car Throttle" team were the heirs apparent but when Alex left that show it went downhill. These guys have definitely streaked ahead. Scott has the credibility, Callum has the infectious enthusiasm and Will is so likeable. Haven't watched the real Top Gear in years and these guys are filling that gap!

Just goes to show how massive the gap between regular people and pros is when you just casually go 10 seconds faster on such a short and simple track.
Seat time and experience in a car does that. The first weekend I drove a Spec Racer Ford at MSR Cresson my times dropped by over 10 seconds on the course of the weekend. Once I got my own and drove it for the first time, I took 3 seconds off over the course of the weekend. After a year I'm able to keep up with the guys who've been doing it for years. The SRF's got no real downforce to speak of, I've heard that it takes a lot of seat time to get used to driving something with downforce because the way cornering ability varies with speed is completely different.
@@joshuajusticeracing agreed and speed gives these cars more grip. But on the turn if you miss the apex and exit is not good, as soon as you hit the gas your into the wall cause of speed you carry

My sympathy is also being shared between Will and the rest of us who don’t have an M5.

I miss old top gear, the lap times board was something that was starting to worry manufacturers because it was more popular than nurburing times because the cars where driven by roughly the same driver and it was more or less in the same conditions soooo thank guys for reminding us that
I must say i'm envious. I would drive a 2cv for a year to get a shot at this particular car in this particular track. I've been drooling over this car ever since it started popping up in youtube channels. It really feels like something of a lost son of a Vakyrie with an old Lotus.

Their R1, R1T, and R1R are absolute MONSTERS. I'd love to have one of those in my dream garage. Relatively fuel efficient, too, when you think about it - even for a race car.

I bet Scott was taking it relatively easy as well. I am looking at another comment about how the Praga test driver would compare to Scott, and I have to agree that would have been beyond interesting. I would settle for hearing how hard Scott was pushing. I guess the truth of that is that his pace was at the point when tenths of a second would be hard to gain. A stellar video though lads. Poor Will.
I am curious as well. Think it might be a good challenge for Scott, the test driver is Josef Kral, former GP2 driver (and even a race winner).

I good track day friend once offered to let me drive his Nissan GTR at an open track day and even though I declined I had a panic for the rest of the day thinking about it. I can't imagine the stress of driving something this expensive on track.

Could this actually beat the AMG ONE around the Norschleife? Would be interesting atleast, might be up there with the ONE and Valkery with some minor upgrades, specifically in the engine.
It's amazing they managed to make that car road legal, but I doubt it's very road capable, especially on our typical British country lanes!

if this is expensive you can still dream at praga r1 which is easier to get to, and since it’s a race car it’s at a different level compared to a tuned sports car
