Great reviews of 2 classic albums Mike! I'm going to be picking up both of these. Interestingly, I also only have the CD of INXS Kick. I haven't listened to it recently, but I remember loving it when it came out in 1987. It will be great to revisit it on vinyl this time! It's amazing what Analogue Productions has done with all these Atlantic 75 pressings. I agree that they are really stellar.

Great reviews Mike, keep ‘em coming. Acoustic Sounds website states that Straight Shooter was mastered by Ryan K Smith at Sterling Sound from the original tape. I think he is doing all the Bad Company Atlantic 75s for AP.

    Great review!
I received my copy 3 days ago of INXS and indeed sounds amazing, playing on my ClearAudio Performance DC air Turntable with the ClearAudio Charisma Cartridge and tracertonearm though the Focal Kanta 2.

Going to be listening to Focal this weekend Kanta and Sopra 2 & 3. How do you like the Focal speakers?

@@MikesVinylExperience They have always been my dream speakers! I can't think of one negative thing about them.
      They sound amazing.
I have vinyl and audio demo on my UA-cam channel.

    Two absolutely classic records, Mike!
And, as an 'Aussie', I was thrilled to hear that "Kick" was so well liked by you, and received in the States, in general! Because, here in Australia, it is firmly entrenched as a seminal Aussie classic! 👍🤗

Like you I haven’t bought all but I probably have about 10 or 11….one that took me the most by surprise is Mingus’s Blues and Roots .

I love the Atlantic series as well as the UHQR´s too, I bought almost all of them. The Bad Company and INXS arrived last week and like always they sound amazing.
The Inxs might be the very best in sound from all of them.
I guess I would buy every record I really love again when Analogue Productions would do them again because soundwise they are perfect and they are so silent, love that.
America, Michael Jackson and Alan Parsens would be on top of my list but also my beloved HardRock/Metal Bands Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Bon Jovi (only first 5 albums), Ratt, Dokken, Cinderella ...
I would buy everything again if A.P. would do them even I´m not a big fan of just having 2-3 songs per side
Both had some problems too, the Bad Company was really not flat und the INXS side 3 was not pressed centric which caused the first 2 songs running into problems not holding the groove.
After putting the anti-skate to MAX my Turntable was able to hold the groove, but still not that great having to do that

Make sure you let them know and they will send you out a replacement. I too would go after all those you mentioned. I however am going to pass on the two new UHQR's of Bill Evans. I have the OJC's and love them. Just not interested in spending $300 for two albums I like but don't listen to that often. Thanks

I just played both of these and I thought they were absolutely dreadful. Way too thin and bright. Surely originals are much better. I will confirm once I find my originals. These latest Atlantic 75 series are being mastered in the same manner as the Rhino HiFis (except The Yes Album). They are being mastered with too much hyper detail but severely lacking in warmth and musicality. They must be catering to people with mid systems and/or those severe HF hearing loss. These are unacceptably bright.

Thanks for your comments on these albums. On my system and ears, I didn't find them to be overly bright, in fact on the Bad company I found the AP version to be much more detailed than my original which is very good and sounds excellent as well. You are listening through a much better system than mine so you may have a different result as it sounds like you do. I have yet to find one of the AP atlantic 75's that I didn't like (not buying them all) better than what I have to compare it to. Your system is much more reveling than mine and your sound that you like might be different than what I like. That is what makes this hobby fun! Thanks for your thoughts and opinnions on these albums! I would love to hear what you think after you have listened to your original copys of these albums. Thanks again.
