  • In this video we install the Saber Tactical Chassis on our MK1 FX Crown air rifle in .25 caliber.
    The first part of the video covers what comes in the box when you buy the Chassis.
    The second part describes how to remove the Crown action from the original laminate stock. (2:14)
    The third part covers installation of the Chassis. Installation requires a mix of metric and SAE Allen wrenches. A total of six bolts are used for the installation. (7:17)
    The fourth and final part of the video goes through the main features of the Chassis. (22:02)
    The Chassis has so many features it’s hard to remember to mention them all. Forgotten in this video is a mention that the folding butt stock has several quick detach sling attachment points. Also forgotten but pictured several times is a 1/4 inch threaded hole in the rail that permits attachment to a standard photo tripod.

    Very helpful, I have a saber crown from Utah Airguns and actually had to take it apart to install gauges, made things easier!

    Thanks for this very detailed explanation. My Crown is also one of the original ones that came into the USA. So your video will be very helpful when I take the Sabre plunge.

    Thanks again, PJ. I got my chassis delivered today so tomorrow, my plan is to get going on the installation. I am going to load your video on my computer and take it step by step. There was nothing in the box to explain how to do this (maybe Saber Tactical has something on their website, I don't know ) so your video will be my go-to source for getting it done.

    Have to say this is the best instructional video I have ever watched. I only have one question what chassis does the FX Crown Continuum use, if you know. otherwise I will try to contact the mfg.? Again awesome video! MAN !!!! Thank You.

      This Chassis will fit the original, MKII and Continuum models. Basically it's made to fit all existing Crowns.

    On your blue wooden stock, did you mount the forearm picatinny rail or was it done by someone else? I’m interested on how it was mounted? Wood screws or inserts? Any pitfalls?
    Thanks

      A friend was able to tap holes and put in inserts. He's good at that sort of woodworking stuff and it's been perfect.

    Very nice looking unit which appears to be well constructed as all the ST products I've seen are. That's the good news. The bad is it's TDH (too damn high). It's out of the range of most Crown owners at 600USD delivered. At 400 I think it would be good value. The two points I believe are lacking are 1) a cutout to enable the HS to be adjusted while in the stock. This is an obvious oversight that could easily have been incorporated with little or no effort or tooling. The second is the lack of a bench riser/stabilizer in the butt plate. This would have taken a little more engineering but at $600 bucks I would think you'd get it all. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one, but being a Crown guy (i have several) I have to pick and choose where my money is best spent and this piece, albeit very nice, is more a vanity piece than any type of an upgrade.

      I can't speak to the business side of things as I'm not privy to things like manufacturing costs, etc. I've suggested the cut out.

      By riser I'm assuming you mean some kind of monopod? They make two ($150/$250) if that's what you mean, they are pricy though!!! Should be included with this setup.

    Why one could not place the AR grip block before the Crown action is placed?

    • @WiscAirGunners
      @WiscAirGunners  3 роки тому +1

      Good question. It's because the grip block covers the first screw that attaches the Chassis to the action.

      @@WiscAirGunners thanks for the explenation, I had to ask or my head would be grinding why this was. Hope to own a Crown MKii in a saber tactical one day, all is depending Christmas and the kindness of the Wife :).

    Where did you buy the rear block for the grip, I can't find it, is it included with the chassis?

    Can you fine tune the hammer spring without pulling the action?

    • @WiscAirGunners
      @WiscAirGunners  3 роки тому

      No, just like in the laminate, wood or soft-touch stocks you have to take it out to make that adjustment.

      Hard to go wrong with the 600. I think 700 is too long for the field.

    This is off topic but I am interested in the Chassis down the road. I also have a first generation Crown (.22) 600mm before the AMP reg and can't seem to get the FPS up high enough to shoot slugs effectively like a 23 or 26gr, What is the Hammer Spring Tensioner adjuster screw? Can this increase power?

    • @WiscAirGunners
      @WiscAirGunners  3 роки тому

      It's under the stock in front of the power wheel. You have to take the action out of the stock to make the adjustment, and yes, you will be able to up the velocity by upping regulator pressure and increasing the hammer spring pre-tension. You will sacrifice range on the power wheel when you increase pre-tension, but for slugs you will need to make the sacrifice.

    thanks for the video .. is there any other position we can install the safery switch?

    • @WiscAirGunners
      @WiscAirGunners  3 роки тому

      You can reverse it 180 degrees. Then it goes up (safe) and back (fire).

    So i have a brand new fx crown mk2 with saber tactical chassi. I have a problem with the safety swithch. The original was safe up and fire to the right. The saber tactical is the other way around so on fire it gets in the way of the trigger. Anyone know if there is possible to get different safety swithes from saber?
