If you were digging for kids clothes for your kids someone would toss it aside because it's not what THEY were looking for. So just because the bin has gone thru... like Renee said...look anyway.
The bins are very hit and miss in my area too. By the way, your hair grew out really nice and looks especially good today. You held out from cutting it and it paid off.😊
The LL Bean jacket is called a boiled wool jacket. They were originally from Austria. Really warm, which is why I only get to wear mine once or twice a year here in South Texas! Happy New Year 🎉
*waves from Norway! Yes, boiled wool. I have one in a dark blue made here in Norway. Very warm and very well used. We woke up to a balmy -13C today (8.6F).
The LL Bean is a boiled wool jacket. They were very popular in the 1980s. They somewhat lean "German" in style - can be worn with dirdinal skirts or lederhosen.
That is correct but the term was/is also used for two other things , the cowboy long coat like in the J. Peterman catalogs and worn by Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman on TV AND the coverings worn in the early days riding around in open automobiles on dusty, dirt roads
Thanks for the video Renee... i appreciate your time and information. I totally get the hold to aim camera thing. From what i can tell different reqions " bin" / deals/ layout/ pricing vary from region to region. I wish other observers here would realize that.
I went to a different Goodwill last week- nicer area- better craft items than my local one. I do lots of crafts, so I was happy. Have fun. Tina, Al's wife
I need to take a field trip to the bins. Mine is about 90 minutes away too. Have to make sure to at least find a good lunch spot nearby in case the pickings are slim.
A couple good finds and sounds like you managed to have fun with it regardless (Puppets & corn!). Would be too much anxiety for me. People gripe about one-handed digging? Everyone should have such problems! LL Bean cardigans were all the rage when I was at school in New England in the 80s. The really popular ones were navy blue with small white snowflakes (I guess that's what they were). They were extremely warm & I couldn't wear mine often (I got overheated & wool gives me the willies). I would think anything LL Bean would sell well. Nasty, cold, sometimes heavy rain here today. Are you getting snow? Have a great Saturday afternoon & weekend!
It is currently snowing & looks rather pretty outside! I'll head out late tonight to do the first pass at shoveling. I enjoy shoveling when it's quiet out and no one is outside to bother me :0) We are expecting anywhere between 3-8 inches, so we'll see how it goes! I'm the same with wool. Wool scarves look so warm but once it touches my neck, nope! To wear a wool sweater, I'd have to wear a turtleneck underneath, so no parts of the sweater touch me. Funny how some fabrics are like that!
Well you didn't get a lot, but you got out got some fresh air and did what you like doing. And you sound better than the last time I seen you, great video and and insight to your filming process😊
"When new bins come out, it´s like a rat race !" 😃Well said, and I never would have thought that there are certain rules before you will be able to crawl through the bins. Feeling much better! Just the slightest bit of congestion left, but feeling pretty much "back to normal". Oh yes, bin rules! One month you could be allowed to stand by the new bins as they are brought out. Another month one might have to stand on the other side of the store as they bring out new bins. Sometimes there are even rules about shopping carts! The corn most likely was 16ounces, so that would have cost me $1.89. That is not cheaper than the grocery store haha :0) At least they had it on the shelf versus somehow being in the bin and erupting! Snowing here and I'm ready for it! Lots of work to get done and chili is in the crockpot. Let it snow!
@@PaperandMoose Chili from the crockpot ?! Sounds delicious ! It´s getting colder here, and we also got a little bit of snow, but not that much. Parts of Lower Saxony are instead suffering under flood issues due to tons of rain during the past couple of weeks.

I think people will still buy, but perhaps not at the large quantity that some do. As for the metal detector, that must have been a sight watching the person leap for it! Haha The things we see at the bins!

You are so right about Christmas items. I had to do a lot of shifting and moving to get my Christmas stuff out in my small booth mainly because I went through four totes of my own personal items, only kept one table runner, grouped, cleaned, priced reasonably and put out at my antique mall booth. I have been selling the heck out of this and I'm hoping to keep this spot for Christmas all year long. Some of our vendors keep theirs up all year and some even rent a separate booth just for their Christmas. Can't afford that. I've sold all but two of my nativity sets last month so it's off to the hunt now that the season is over. The thrift shops will have the sales this week. My little local one had what Christmas items they had in a FREE bin. Not much though. I did get a few things. It's rained every Saturday lately so the flea markets are deserted. We are getting the bottom of the storms you are getting. Good luck at the bins, wish we had one nearby.

Blug-Blug...don't sink! 70s? too new! Clothing....Watch out for bed bugs!!! LOL! Hear any "Ribbits" in the toy bins?? You did find a cute squeeze fr-g toy! Well, congrat...you found a second frog piece...your lucky day! I've seen a couple of those squirt guns on the ebay frog site...had prices of $8 and $10, or offer. Right...my Sal. Army store has Christmas and Halloween stuff year around on the shelves. Sounds like you are pretty much over the cold! Out here, the bins are a has-been!
The frog squirt gun just might be hopping on out to California!
"Lay that pistol down, Babe...Lay that pistol down!...Pistol Packin' Mama...Lay that pistol down"! With the froggy squirt gun...you reminded me of that old hit song of the 1940s..."Pistol Packin' Mama"! Well, you'll make a "Frog Squirt Gun Packin' Papa"!@@PaperandMoose
canned food lasts way past the 'Best By'' date.
love your hair beautiful on you beautiful ❤❤❤
LL Bean isn't cheap.
you look very nice today
There's something about Renee
The squirt gun. we never let our kids have the ones that looked like real guns. Not happening! so, they had animal guns like elephants...etc, the frog is a classic.
Your bins don’t look as good as the bins down in South Carolina where Hairy Tornado and Hayley live and they usually get some pretty good hauls from their bins
Don't think I'd like that way of thrifting. Too many people grabbing and getting in the way etc. Do you have any Savers Thrift Stores in your area? They are huge.
We had one about 45 min. from me, it was awesome but sadly it closed a few years ago😢
I thought I spotted you in TS's vlog. Why don't you admit you went together? 🎉🛒✍️🎁🛍🎒💥✨️🔎
Why would she even need to bring it up? Did she say in this vlog that he wasn’t there?
@@lindafrance9192 You are right; she is entitled to her privacy as is he, but, when they clearly are there together, each making a similar vlog, what is the harm in saying so?
@@skokiereaderin the intro she did say 'we' made it to the bins, or something similar...but there was a 'we.'
Because they each have their own videos, and it’s better for business to keep it that way
@@skokiereader - Just curious if you also posed the same question to TS about “not admitting” Renee being there?
🤗Hi Renee!
Have you ever seen (or participated) in a good ol’ cat fight at the bins?! 😂😅hahaha🥊🤼♀️
😊
