The crocks are canning crocks. They predate glass canners. The rim is for a wax seal. The same form without the inset rim are cork sealers. I collect them. It’s a wonder our early ancestors survived.
I'm always learning new things on here! I love it! Thanks so much for sharing!
Love those crocks! I would have snatched those up!!
Some didn’t…..I had a great uncle that died as a toddler of the “Summer complaint”. It was probably food poisoning!
The ceramic mugs with the interesting shape are called 'dashboard mugs'. Used before cup holders were standard.
No Spill mugs sell for 18 to 24 and those were awesome ❤
She has bought and sold those type of mugs before many years ago. She actually taught me what to look for when buying those.
There’s so many things from my childhood that I remember but can’t always recall the proper “terms” for. Thanks for reminding us - dashboard mugs.
I always wondered why they had the nonslip bottom. I have one with the traditional brown and cream speckled glaze.
The quilt reminds me of the kits that used to be available for cross stitched items. My grandmother used to do those but never a full sized quilt like that. She did pillowcases and table cloths. The cross stitch pattern came printed on the material and after you finished stitching, you washed it and the pattern went away. It’s a beautiful example with the variegated threads.
I recall seeing some unfinished with blue lines still visible. That makes sense!
That quilt is awesome. Definitely hand made ❤
Yes, it looked handmade.
That good will was shameful those prices were outrageous. You were getting better prices at the second place you went.
I believe Goodwill recognizes that they have become a major supplier for resellers and want their cut of the reselling market profits...business is business.
@@andreaschmall5560 And I totally understand and respect that. But my worry is for the people that have to shop there because they have no choice because of their income level, etc. That's what concerns me.
@@catherinedileo7393 from a business standpoint, it would be the resellers driving the prices up. Supply and demand has always dictated prices in the free market economy, From what I have heard, Goodwill exists to provide jobs and to give proceeds or a portion of proceeds to charities, therefore, their business model is relying upon the money brought in as opposed to selling things cheaply. With that in mind, they are absolutely going to price items accordingly when their locations are flooded with resellers. And as far as I can see, the Goodwill bins are extremely low cost so resellers and regular customers are receiving bargains galore.
When Goodwill charges such high prices retail they prevent collectibles and antiques from getting to the people who will value them. Those crocks at $25 will only go to someone local. If no one local sees them before they are considered unsalable they will end up at the bins and then crunched. And we all know the longer they sit on Goodwill shelves the more likely they are to be damaged and nearly worthless.
@@Jen39xNot really.
I find it amazing that Goodwill items are all donated and they put high prices on items they get for free!
Because they pay their CEO and others an insane amount of money!
That quilt!! My gosh what a beauty!! I’m totally in love with everything about it! 🤩❤
It’s so 🤩 stunning
Those were true Coach boots they are $80-100 dollars. Loved you showing us different stores. Thank you for sharing ❤
😮😮 wow no way!!
Coach Rivington Rain Booties
Thank-you! I'm sure someone else got a score!
I'm from Nashville and there was a cool Opryland mug on the shelf, that was an amusement park here and it closed in the 90s, anything from there is sought after by locals like myself
😮😮 no way!! That’s so cool!
That quilt was definitely done by hand! It’s gorgeous. I am an avid quilter with over 50 years of experience.
Mugs, decanters etc with very broad flat bases where traditionally made that way for aboard ships (originally sailing ships) to make them more stable in rough seas which is maybe why the modern ones you found had marine decorations as a hark back to their design origins.
That style quilt starts out as a single piece of cloth with light blue markings showing where to do the cross stitch or other work. Most of these do have at least some cross stitch. When all the embroidery is done the top is quilted just like it were standard patchwork. Lots of time in those and that one looked fixable to someone who does embroidery. My mom made one with roses
That’s what I thought too. My grandmother made a few smaller pieces with those pattern kits.
I think I've seen them before in single colors. But I love the rainbow threading.
'There's a few hairline cracks along the edge and for that reason, I'm out.' -- Barbara Corcoran. ( I've been watching alot of Shark Tank lately) 😅😅😅
I've never seen a strawberry fish before! Cute
Those Holt Howard Mrs santa candle holders ... have great sold prices, really good.
In the 70’s I worked at a jewelry store/gift shop while going to high school. I remember the Desert Rose China from back then. It was one of our most popular patterns for everyday China. So much of the things you find brings back memories for me. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty funny talking about the outfit being for Laurel not yourself. Also the naked baby skiing in the ashtray. Had a good laugh. Made my day
😂😂😂 that was hilarious
After I said "for Laurel" I realized how dumb that sounded. But I thought it would be fun to leave in.
Cups with wide base and rubber stuff on the bottom, I believe, were made to sit on car dashboards while driving.
I'm 75. It's so strange seeing things that went out of style in my lifetime and became undesirable in demand and fashionable again.
Those mugs are old school commuter mugs. They're non-skid on the bottom to sit on your dash. 😬
And they worked unless you had to stop very quickly 😅
I absolutely love those vintage butterfly canisters! ❤ I couldn't help but wonder, though, if the tape would pull the butterflies off...? 🤔🫣
😯oh goshhh I hope not!!
@@VintagebyVandergrift Me too! 🤞
Same. Why don't they think before taping?
The hand mirror looks as if the handle would not have originally been wrapped in that fabric/ribbon.
Love that last place! I would go crazy in there.
Me too!! Great prices too!!
That is so awesome. They turn the music off. I wish they would do that at every store. 🤗
Loved the quilt & the dolls were fun !thanks!❤
That Goodwill was very expensive.
I always look forward to your videos. Love "I hate when that happens ", the duck missing an eyelash. 😅
Ooooo, love those frames on you!
The little blue and gold teapot was Lomonosov, Russia or USSR. I would have picked that up!
I think the butterflies on the canister tops are decals . Back in my day (I'm 66) you could buy decals , you soaked them in water and usually put them on wooden objects .
That quilt was gorgeous! Wish I found things like this at my local charity shops on the Isle of Wight 😂
The quilt was stunning 🤩 it be so hard for me to let go!
Omg! At 44 seconds those were Czech glass. I know because I broke one on New years Eve. 😢
Another UA-camr named Vintage Catnpaws goes to to this Goodwill and the local Antique stores all the time and she is such a sweetheart. There is ALWAYS good stuff in that GW 😊
Thank you Shannon ❤ My Goodwill is pretty darn good! At times a little high but still worth the weekly trip.
Fun trip! The strawberry fish was everything. The bed quilt was beautiful. Well stitched!
Gee, I thought you wanted that little onesie for you!😂😂🎉
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge, And laughs.
LOVE that quilt!! Easy fix on the broken thread….
Very nice laid back enjoyment like it once was pre cross-overs, goofing around. I liked both places!
The rose canister is a marmalade or jam jar.
Love your videos
12:06 on the bottom shelf “The littlest Angel” book!!! From my childhood. Wish I could buy it!!!
I really love the little Murano duck, she is super cute❣️😍
That embroidery quilt is absolutely Gorgeous 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I really liked the glasses you had on in the beginning of the video, I was wondering if you still wore your glasses. That was a fun trip and fun shopping too. See you on the next one you take us to.
Hi there Jocelyn ❤😊
I love shopping with you Jocelyn ❤
You and Laurel could be matchy matchy.😁💚
Hey I hope you are having good day and everything's is great in your life.
I cannot even imagine having to clean those Rod iron chairs if I had kids at home
Nice shopping day 😊
Cool i see an opryland mug. One of my favorite places as a kid
Love your videos, Have never made a purchase but I said to myself if you buys the naked baby skiing ashtray I will bid the heck out it !!!!
I was curious too about the cost of the quilt, so I went back and wrote down the prices of the other items and subtracted that from the total of $91. Looks like the quilt was about $30. Great buy in my opinion! 😊
That's not too bad! I figured I'd find out when I unloaded my car from the recent trip. Haha.
How nice they turned the music down for you now that's a respectful employee that's rare these days so nice to see !
That little Strawberry fish is adorable! I wouldn't be able to flip that one. Lots of goodies in there today. 😊
so sad the prices of Goodwill have gone up so high. I resale, but also buy our family shoes there.
i need that yankee candel wax bowl
My Goodwill is set up the same way as this one. The problem I have is I am too short to see what is on top of the clothing racks. I have to take my husband to reach things and tell me what I am seeing. lol
The quilt is so pretty. Omg the outfit ,😂. Cracking up. 😊
Loving your glasses 🤓 look so good on you!!
It's the old colored price tags for me 😂
I liked that picture, can’t sell damaged frames though.
Morning jostling lv uk ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
That strawberry fish is brilliant. Those prices are high!
Those glasses that you picked up that were stained glass with the gold swirl through them. They're actually was something I have the candlesticks. Irimiea Candlesticks worth over 100.00 the glasses are extremely rare
What great finds at Goodwill. I really enjoyed the antique store so many beautiful things. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Loved the video❤😊.
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺
Those prices are ridiculous
That was very considerate of them to turn the radio off!
Yes Coach shoes are a thing. You maybe should have picked those up if they were cheap enough. Like less that $12.00 PS there's not such word as "boughten"
I always find the Yankee Candle pieces without those dangly parts… 😂 Now I know who has them all.
Russian blue ware is called Gzhel @8.33
Love the video Crasy Lamp Lady 😊Melanie From Tehachapi California
Thank-you!
I really liked that last place you took us to. One of my friends and I have been to places like that. You find such interesting and strange things like that naked baby skiing in the ashtray....
Nice change of pace.
I have a box by the same designer as the mirror…they’re awesome!
“Rolly balls”😂😂 you mean casters 😊😉 I love your videos, keep them coming!!❤❤
Boughten? I don’t think that’s a word but hey rock it out if it is. Jocelyn I have been watching your vids for years, always interesting and I have learned a lot about ‘the ceramic, glass and strange tastes of the USA’. Thanks for making regular vids….I like your solo vids the best, I skip past those you have other sellers on. Thanks Jocelyn.
Where do you live? Country?
England :)
My grandmother used to use the word boughten as an adjective. As in a boughten cake versus a homemade one. I've also seen it in older books used that way. I believe its an older use of the word that has fallen out of favor.
She is correct in the way she used this word....Boughten, also spelled as “boughton” or “boughtin,” is an adjective that describes an object or item that has been purchased from a store or market, as opposed to being homemade or handmade. The term is most commonly used in the United States and is considered a colloquialism. Boughten items are typically mass-produced and available for purchase at retail stores or online marketplaces.
Carry on, Jocelyn!! ❤👏👏❤ really enjoyed this one!!
@@savvyheart369 👍
Let me know what venue you sell the mirror please, I need that
I have a bender friend that sells those big bottom cups on eBay easy and for a lot of money!
Thanks 😊
Pioneer Woman Sweet Rose rolling pin at 13:12?
You know it’s for you!!😂😂
Penn Alps is an Artisan Village and Restaurant that has been in Grantsville, Md. For a loooong time! It is in Garrett County, midway between Frostburg and Deep Creek. They make beautiful pottery, as well as many other crafts. Home made rugs, woodcarvings, ironworks, and many other beautiful things!
Question.... why do you not look at the blue Fenton glass?
Curious why isn't Pfaltzgraff popular with resellers? I have a set and absolutely love it
There’s not a lot of resell value in most of it. I believe there are a few pieces that might be worth picking up but for the most part it’s hard to make money off that brand.
I would love to walk thru Goodwill with you live and be able to ask questions. :)
Hi From Australia
Loved the video.
Hopefully when you pull the tape off of the canisters with butterflies, it doesn’t pull the butterflies off😢
You are the best😊
Is the 2nd place the place that you used to have your goodies at??
The basement looks familiar
No. She’s in a totally different part of the state.
Those Goodwill prices were unusually high! Were you in an affluent neighborhood? I don’t think too many struggling to survive could afford to shop at that place. Yikes😮
😊
What kind of camera do you film on? Do you ask for permission before you film in Goodwill or the antique stores?
Was it a squirrel? 🐿️
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Would the tape on the canister set pull the decals off?
Who was the maker of the blue glass shoe?
Yippee! 🎉
