I still hear "NOOO THAT'S THE THING I'M SENSITIVE ABOUT" in my head on a regular basis
P
I wasn't planning on watching a John Mulaney special, but I'm glad this popped up. I needed to laugh
right?
same
i've never watched a set of his, only seen them in gif form on tumblr, but this appeared on my recommended and im actually laughing so hard im breathless
I wasn't expecting to watch this anywhere but Netflix, but what the héll. I'm glad this popped up because it's way better for me than Reddit videos.
@@ArcanineEspeon have you watched this on Netflix? I ask because this video clearly has like cuts and jumps and is missing bits of the set, and I was wondering if you knew if the full thing is on Netflix?
Oceans 13 was written immediately after this special haha
Do you mean 8?
was looking for this comment!!
@@davidfoster5561 I think he meant 8 because 13 was late 2000s, and this special is 2012 because I remember watching it on Netflix in college.
Airdate:January 2012
my favourite asian female comedian
oh, that's a good one
Exactly. His hips are so sexy and fertile. 😍
Ass 😂
Bobbie Lee is good too
non-gay gay asian female*
this is cocaine era John Mulaney
It is
how dare you remind me
@@tallussy_hallussy lol i actually really like his new content now that he's sobered up and you can really clearly see now that he's coked up on stage in these videos
@@fammioli yeah that’s true, i just really like the old stuff so it sucks to remember what was goin on
@fammioli really? I've seen this and other specials multiple times but never noticed, what are the obvious things to look for lol ?
Man, this really should have been a sign of his drug addiction. Literally said he went to a doctor to lie and get Xanax 😂
but drugs good
And all of the stories about him drinking to the point of blacking out at age 13.
@@fullmetalzombieeater noo drugs baad
you just assume all famous ppl do drugs and its just a matter of how much they do them
@@skakee10no John Mulaney went to rehab literally right before Jan 6 2021. He makes a joke about the insurrection wouldn't have happened if he wasn't in rehab. And I'm a huge fan of his. That's why I know he struggles with addiction.
Mulaney is the oldest youngest person ever. He talks like he might be from the fifties, but looks like he's 16. Maybe he's a slightly racisit vampire who was turned in 1952?
Interview with a Mulaney?
It explains the coke just as well as reality.
Lenny Bruce.
He has delusions of grandeur and a personality disorder. He thinks of himself as Lenny Bruce.
But that's why he's so funny.
John Mulaney as a gay man always reminds me of a gay friend answering another's question about why he hadn't seen me aroundbthe scene: "Oh, he's not gay". The other: "He's kidding himself"...
He plays a gay man on "Difficult People," which I wish Hulu would release all seasons of on DVD, not just season 2. One of my favorite shows.
24:22
“We were like dogs without horses!”
I'm going to try to use that in my conversations from now on.😂😂
That’s a great idea!
Love it when a comedian uses a previous bit to set up essentially an inside joke for those who were paying attention!
@@debblouinit’s known as a “callback” as you’re right it’s awesome
love the inside joke w the audience lol
ive re-watched this John Mulaney special more times than i can count and i just noticed hes in the front row? 41:25
wait yea. maybe it’s someone who dressed up as him? but idk how they’d guess what he’s wearing correctly in the special. so weird tho
i think they did a cutscene since right after that he gets up from the chair and leaves lol i was confused too
There are so many personalities inside this man 🤣🤣🤣
Cocaine
"And then I go over to the Delta help desk, which is an oxymoron" is one of the best jokes on the whole special and he just flies past it I love him
they haven't let their mind wander since Egypt 😂
I never noticed Mulaney sitting the front row acting like he just watched the special in one of the last couple shots.
He looks like a Norman Rockwell illustration come to life.
OH MY GOD I CANT UNSEE THAT!!! 😅😅😅😅
One of the best specials of the contemporary comedy era
This is his older content, this is over a *decade* old. I made the comment because I happened across the video just as it got posted and noticed *a lot* of the other comments thought it was new content at first.
He’s kind of back. He dropped Baby J a few months ago
Means it has aged great
Thank you, professor.
Maybe New in Town was the name of the show at the time.
A decade old😮...damn thought this was fresh
I didn't realize how every single sketch is pure gold. Wow.
His delivery is perfect.
@@beverlyadams7710it’s the cocaine
@@MoppyPoppy so cocaine induces good delivery. gotcha.
I might be high, but this man has a PERFECTLY lengthed neck.
like, it's just precisely as long as it should be.
Ok
I think you might be REALLY high bro. I’m just medium high right now. 🎉
Bro the delta help desk is a oxymoron made me spit out my brandy
I want brandy...
Well SOMETIME is a certain age, gender, and income level.
"Dogs without horses" you sir, are hilarious.
6:26 I just got the depth of the "high wasted man" joke.
the SVU bit always has me in TEARS bc it’s so true
6:15 "nooo, that's the thing I'm sensitive about" : ( ... : D
"I don't drink anymore because I used to drink too much and had to stop" said coke addict 2012 John Mulaney.
"I go to the Delta HelpDesk, which is an oxymoron" is such a good line lol
Y’all went waaayyyy back for this one!
it's like a collection of greatest hits but it's all one show
what's wild is that the quote in the thumbnail isn't even from this special
Maybe not, but if anyone would know about how similar cancelling plans is to heroine, it would be John Mulaney
@@egostorthe quote is still from another special. Shambolic.
wait no i remember that being from new in town right? along with the plate of fries bit
New in town?
Actually, they cut out 18 min of the special for some reason
28:36 Yo, “because it’s the one thing you can’t replace is fucking SAVAGE. I laughed out lout at that.
Thanks for the upload. I haven't seen this in a while, but I really needed to laugh right now.
Yup. I was watching something else that was just making me mad and I saw this in the cue and said, "I need to laugh." Mission accomplished!!
Batman couldn't have gotten that doctor visit info out of me 😭
He makes a very interesting young boy playing a gay 67-year-old man
Don't you mean a very interesting asian american woman playing a gay 67-year -old man
“THEY HAVENT WANDERED SINCE EGYPT” DYING
41:25 HE ATTENDED HIS OWN SHOW!!
22:14 Just when I was questioning if this special was as incredible as I remember it
I wish I could watch this for the first time again
John Mulaney is absolutely brilliant and that’s full show It’s very hard to come by… I want to watch more of them 😂 Specially, the recent ones let’s call it “the post rehab area” 😅
I though Baby J was hilarious..
Ha, he was talking about looking worse and I triple blinked because he aged backwards. And then I realized how old this is.
“They’ve never spoken” will live in my head forever, I’m just waiting for my moment to be able to use it
26:58 "You know, like a LIAR"
Because of this special, I’ve gone to see him 3 times already. “I was new in town “😂😂
One of the best sets by anyone ever. I've heard it so many times. Never not funny.
"canceling plans is like the drugs I do"
Who would know better then him
Why are so many comments funnier than his jokes LMAO!
He is so good at stand up !!! How did I not get to see this 12 years ago ????
i believe this is not the full special. it has been cut down twenty mins and at times reorganized lol and the quote is in the thumbnail is from a diff special
Yeah, I regularly go to sleep by listening to all his specials in order, and I was noticing that the first part of it seemed to be going by a little faster than it should. Tempted to go compare it to Netflix, but I'm supposed to be getting back to work right now on some household stuff.
@@tejaswoman haha exactly. you get it! i was like there's no way he didn't use any transitions from these topics
The funny thing is, his humor never gets old. His manner cracks me up! The “is he, or isn’t he? qualities make him even funnier. He owns it.
this ones a classic
"Stick it in, I'm an American."
So you tellin me he was high here ? Lol
Still holds up i was silent laughing like an idiot throughout the whole doctor visit bit lol
This thumbnail Is hella ironic considering he’s now a reformed drug addict that completed his rehabilitation a couple of months ago 😂
I love this every time
Never heard of this guy. Stumbled on this and I’m glad I did 🔥
he wrote for Saturday night live for a while
I thought he played the Flash on TV 😂😂😂
I'm watching this in 2024 and we had Ocean's 8 😂 and it was kinda awesome even if it was exactly like John was joking about
18:42 freaking love this joke
Love Mulaney! I've missed his stuff since I canceled Netflix years ago. Watching his specials would truly be the only reason I'd re-up Netflix and that's just not enough justification.
what a crazy show! my face hurts from laughing 😂😂
And then Oceans 8 happened... this guy is psychic
John is pretty funny like the Talking heads David bryne suit 😂
Love John's stuff!!!
Always the best. Style is wonderful
One of the BEST specials ever! ❤😂❤😂
I can't watch this too many times. Its always funny.
STREET SMARTS
He's like the pastor neighbor from Young Sheldon.
Now that's uncalled for. Sure he has his flaws. But you went too far here.
41:25 a glitch in the matrix
that def jam comic bit 😂😂🤣
wait until he finds out about Oceans 8
He is brilliant. I always laugh at his bits regardless of whether I’ve seen them already.
Because it's the one thing you can't replace ❤️🔥
well now I REALLY have no use for my Netflix subscription
Great Set.
This was amazing show god damn. Im starting to dig different comedians and I love it
This special hits different after watching baby J
THIS IS COMEDY AT IT BEST,SOOOOO FUNNNY
Old but Gold
I love this man! :)
"If you suffer from frequent urination, keep it to yourself." LOL! Amen Brother!
Joey Diaz talking about John’s new material is spot on
Well, if you mention snow season in a search, here we are the next day.
I loved this special for a long time
13 advertisements dude what the heck. Worth it I guess JM is fantastic
So uh, is it "heigh waisted man" or "high wasted man?"
I just listened to this album yesterday
Thank you for letting us know.
Cool story
fascinating
That's wild.
Love listening to them!
The best 45 min of my life ❤😂 I love him
This is brilliant
My favorite proud Asian American woman comic. Also Olivia Munn's favorite.
17:00 it happened Jhon xD
The GOAT
😂 one of the best
To be fair, if the guy is homeless, he doesn't have a mirror to practice in front of
“I did not know” 😂😂
29:53 best joke abt fries ever
Loved it.
Oh my gosh, he is so funny 🤣
OK, I don't know much about drugs, but I see folks commenting below that this was part of his coke phase. Yes, I knew he was addicted and went to rehab, but my Q is - if he was on drugs how could he remember this whole act? How could he deliver it so perfectly, and well-timed too? How could a high person do that?
People can perform High drugs are like performance enhancements
You’d be amazed at how focused you can get on large amounts of certain substances
Because he was treating his ADHD with the cocaine
As someone from across the Atlantic I have to say that Mulaney is a fantastic comedian.
There are various other great American comedians, George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Robin Williams etc. and many fine comedic actors such as Gene Wilder and his collaborator on “See No Evil, Here No Evil”, Richard Pryor.
I’m Scottish, and we have an embarrassment of riches comedically. I don’t think there is a finer comedian than Billy Connolly, but Mulaney is a genius no doubt (as are all the other aforementioned gentlemen).
So, Americans certainly can do great comedy (In spite of the image of cheesy commercialised sitcoms).
I really enjoyed watching this. Mulaney is not just incredibly insightful, he’s incredibly funny with it.
I’ve seen plenty of his more recent stuff too. To use his problems so openly is not just courageous, but potentially helpful to others.
I'm still sad about finding out he's not gay. A big crush was crushed.
Find Jesus
that ocean's 11 joke stands true to this day
I love him❤
