Homeless people in US can get pretty aggressive if you feed them regularly and stop doing that one day. This last month, a restaurant worker was hammered and un-alived by a Homeless person who was given free food.
Man i remember being homeless a year ago at 19. And i walked in barefoot to a gas station to grab a burrito i had lost my shoes. Hardly could stay warm and a women at the gas station asked me if i was okay and clearly could tell i was to young to already be in that situation. She offered to buy me any snack and some extra hot food and then told me shed get me a night at a hotel. Ended up giving me a full week and because of her i was able to get a job that week and save up enough to find a couch until i got my own place. Because of her im not homeless today.

That big guy in the blue shirt got up and WALKED OUT FAST when he saw the camera crew run in. He didn't wanna stick around to be questioned bc he knew his attitude towards the homeless woman was despicable and felt embarrassed.
I can understand both sides of the bar personally as a restaurant manager and customer. There’s been times I went out of my way to help feed a homeless person cus everyone’s gotta eat. Homeless guy approached me in broad daylight at a gas station and I met him up at a restaurant across the street to pay for his dine in meal inside. I didn’t bother to ask permission of the restaurant as I left in a hurry but saw no harm in it at the time. Fortunately, the business wasn’t affected and the man moved on. Then as a restaurant manager, I’ve fed homeless folks around the area and word got out so they hang around outside and bother other customers who enter and leave. Got so bad, they started hanging around my dumpster and doing drugs there. Had to have cops escort them away cus it became a nuisance having them come inside just to sit around and even have the audacity to charge their phone in my dining room. As much compassion as I want to show for those in need, this is a business. Once in a while I can offer a free meal here and there but once you start loitering my business and waiting for the next hand out while bringing friends, you gotta go. I can’t feed you forever and have you interfering with my daily work. That goes for the homeless or any other customer.
If a managers decision or restaurant policy is to not give away free meals, I do understand that. But if I buy someone else a meal, then that person should get the meal. If you had met that homeless person across the street to buy him a meal, and the waiter refused to give him one, that would be inhumane, discriminatory, and just horrible service all the way around. That’s the scenario presented here. He is given enough money to give her a meal and to have a good tip for himself, and still refuses and insults her, humiliates her. He is completely unjustified.
It is a really nuanced situation. A pub and grub I frequent had a long time bartender that started asking customers for money to pay her rent. I'd often meet a friend there who is very kind and has a hard time saying no, my friend requested to stop going to this bar because she had lent out hundreds of dollars and couldn't keep it up. As for the bartender, she relapsed on a gambling addiction and was let go from her job. The bartender was great, every one loved her. Tough situation
@@rachelelizabethmason18 The scenario presented here is a homeless woman asking for a free meal from the restaurant. Instead, customers in the restaurant offer to pay for her meal which is great but can either be a one and done situation or a come one come all invitation to all the homeless. This act of kindness can attract them to the area where they will loiter around, harass customers, and use your resources. Not every homeless person is bad but some can be down right nasty and disrespectful. Imagine a scenario if more than one homeless person walked into a restaurant begging for a free meal.
@@fxphzznpjfdl5bpuqjxo504 Did this friend know the bartender had a bad addiction? I would never lent out money to a stranger especially knowing they have a personal addiction problem. If they can depend on your friend to fulfill their needs, they’ll never be forced to fix themselves. I know plenty of bartenders who make crazy amounts of tip money. If they’re having money problems then there’s definitely an imbalance somewhere in their life.
@@NeonKue I understand that fear lingering for a business owner, but then he should tell the other customer “even if you give me $20, I will not feed her, you can keep this.” He absolutely should not have agreed to give her food, accepted the money, and then still not given her anything. And in reality, the homeless woman would likely recognize the difference between getting a free meal from a restaurant and stumbling upon a nice woman who gave her a free meal. But if she did send other homeless people in for some reason, the owner could still just tell them that he doesn’t give out free meals. And he still never had to be such a bully to the homeless woman
i always try to buy meals for homeless ppl since i don't carry cash :') small acts of kindness go a long way yall, don't make excuses about "they'll get used to it" we are supposed to take care of each other when our government fails us.
I always try to spare them some change but enough so they can go and buy some food. If I don't have change on me I'll still acknowledge them and just say sorry that I don't (if they've asked me) I don't just ignore them like some people do

"If u got 10 extra bucks freaking help him" words to live by. Also praise to that lady at the end who helped the homeless. She understood and received kindness and love from others and it's important to share it with others too. But it's understandable why some establishments don't wanna serve/help homeless people (at least in a publicly known manner), as it would lead all other homeless people to line up outside the shop waiting for free food, and this may cause a serious blow to the business as well as to the employees to which I assume barely makes a living working in the service industry.

We decided to give the rest of our wings to two different homeless people outside. One guy was going through a trip (obviously on drugs.) He was super happy to receive something to eat. Moral of the story is… do not be rude to strangers. We all go through things that another human could not just guess by our appearance. Be kind to one another! This is everyone’s first chance in life and only chance!
People are so kind. I worked at a store and we brought things in to give to people so they wouldn't steal our stuff for sale but we didn't always have things for them. @@Zachboy007how rude of you to judge those with nothing and are just trying to survive.
@@EclipsisCorvus, I don’t interrupt people while eating or make inappropriately excessive requests. Not only is it rude to panhandle on private property, but asking for a $20 meal is rudely presumptuous. Reminds of that time a panhandler rudely asked me to buy him a snack. Like he expects me not only to give him a few cents, but spend a few bucks; and give up my time to go into a store and pick out a snack for him.

@@Zachboy007 The way you are defending Blue Shirt in all of these makes me wonder if you are Blue Shirt or a friend of his
Guy was vile.
If I don't have change on me I'll still acknowledge them and just say sorry that I don't (if they've asked me)
I don't just ignore them like some people do

"If u got 10 extra bucks freaking help him" words to live by. Also praise to that lady at the end who helped the homeless. She understood and received kindness and love from others and it's important to share it with others too. But it's understandable why some establishments don't wanna serve/help homeless people (at least in a publicly known manner), as it would lead all other homeless people to line up outside the shop waiting for free food, and this may cause a serious blow to the business as well as to the employees to which I assume barely makes a living working in the service industry.

@@Zachboy007 DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH FOOD THEY THROW AWAY
@@texassaxet4893, I didn’t hear her ask for throwaways. I heard her ask for a full meal. Also, the time it would cost to cook her a meal. It is very rudely presumptuous to make excessive requests from people with no signal they would go along with it. It reminds me of the time a homeless man asked me to buy him a snack, and I walked away coldly, crept out by the fact he would ask me to sacrifice a few bucks and actually spend a few minutes going into a store to purchase him something.
@@Zachboy007Yeah. You'd need a heart to do so. You'd rather see a homeless person starve.
@@DotMcFarlane, if you want to go volunteer at a soup kitchen, be my guest. Without any presumption someone would do so, it would be rude to ask. You accuse me of being heartless; I have plenty of compassion for those who don’t want to be inconvenienced.
The man in blue shirt is man without compassion. It is his right or thought to not to help others but why not let other people help the person in distress. You never know the situation of other person until you are in their shoes and walk some distance. He will eventually understand one day when he will be in same situation god forbid. Im from Charleston, west virginia. I am here to say not everyone here is like that first guy that was rude. Most of us stick together here. Just a few weeks ago for my anniversary me and my husband stopped into a wing spot downtown and didn’t finish our wings.
I love those kind hearted person who help the lady. God bless your soul❤
People are so kind. I worked at a store and we brought things in to give to people so they wouldn't steal our stuff for sale but we didn't always have things for them. They would come in and ask for things, we just couldn't give them freebies (they were there pretty much every day) and there was always someone ready to buy it for them. It was very much appreciated because we couldn't. (It wasn't my store, I just worked there and we did keep a big closet, it just got empty sometimes).
