    This worked! I tried the green tea one and finally my cake rose well all spongy and I used cake tin straps too. My issue earlier was my cake was flat and I wasn't beating it long enough - no where near 8mins thank you

    trying to make the chocolate one right now. my batter definitely didn't stay as fluffed, but it also didn't take nearly 8 minutes to fluff up with just the egg and sugar... fingers crossed it turns out

      @@chuuyasanestsimp I suggest using stainless steel bowl so the heat will transfer well to your batter but if you don't have stainless steel bowl glass bowl would be fine.

    What brand of pan do you use? Does it have to be dark coloured fir the recipe to be effective? Because I tried it two times and my cake does not rise as much as yours did 😥

      Try using 1/4 tsp baking powder and make sure you fluff it well!

    Do your really have to use pastry flour for the chocolate and matcha one? And do you preheat the oven at 180 C too?

      you can substitute cake flour or a mix of cake flour and AP flour.

      @@wombatcubes cake flour has a lower protein content and won't get chewy like a bread as quickly. you can add 1 tbs cornstarch to 1 cup AP flour, or substitute almond flour for 1/4 the mass of ap flour.

    I tried it and I somehow messed it up :c
    It came out very flat and with a weird hard bottom
    The taste of the fluffy parts was good at least,,
    Do you know what I could have done wrong? Did over whip? Was it the temperature of the water ? ;-;

    My batter deflate so much after milk +butter process. I did put it in while the batter n milk slightly warm. Is it bc of that? It so thin with heigh around 6cm height only.

    hi! i just made this cake and followed everything, but for some reason, the cake didn't rise. what things could i have done wrong? it also had a dense bottom, do i need to add baking soda/powder? ( i used the cornstarch + all purpose sub for cake flour )

      Maybe it didn't fluff properly. Make sure the water in hot temp, over 80~100 degrees Celsius. 1/4tsp of baking powder will help to make stable fluffiness,

      I did it too and it went flat 😬
      I think it's because of the butter/milk that is on the description but in the video we don't see her put it on it so idk 😶

      @@Siasa_ she did put it in. She took out a little bit of the batter to mix with the milk and butter mixture before putting it all back in the batter, this is to prevent shocking the batter if you just straight away pour in the butter and milk. If you just pour it in straight away, it might not be as fluffy when it is out of the oven.

      I think one is that you need to make sure you mix gently when incorporating the flour or the other powder. secondly, before you put it in the oven don't drop it so many times, because you just one the air bubbles on the surface to leave but not all of it. Then when it comes out of the oven, you need to drop it once more to shock the cake to prevent it from deflating. Lastly when you take it out of the pan to cool, cool it upside down on a rack to prevent it from deflating too much.

      Tj max or home goods are a good place to buy them,,but for my case I just moved to another area and in this area they don’t sell as much pans and stuff like that so I buy my things from Amazon,, Springform Cake Pan Set Of 3 (4 7 9 Inch) - Round Nonstick Baking Pans Spring Form For Cheesecake, Tier Wedding Cakes, And More - Removable Bottom, Leakproof Bakeware Sets With Small, Medium, Large www.amazon.com/dp/B08D75HXSN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_6Z7BCYJQ087QCQ324BDE that link leads to a pan in amazon, one of the best cape pans I have, best for cheesecake or mousse or any non bread types but cakes work perfectly fine too but works best with cheesecake types, if you look through Amazon there should be many good ones that you’ll like!

    I've already tried it,but I used 1 tbsp milk and 1 tbsp coffee,yes,mocha flavor it is.Removing the top and the bottom is neccesary,I got a 1 inch tall cake,that would be a 1 layer 6 inch if used in tall cakes.It is spongey yet a little bit structural,it has to go with simple syrup.The recipe is also cheap and tasty,thank you very much ^_^.

      I'm late but i wanted to answer it. You can't. But u can substitute cake flour with 1 cup of ap flour, take out 2 tbsp of flour from it and replace it with 2 tbsp of corn starch.

      @@chuuyasanestsimp texture is fluffy and the taste was great. I followed the recipe exactly how it was, if you want more sweet you can add more sugar. As the sweetness for me was just right I didn't add more.
      Try it only if you have an electric mixer, you can't whisk the batter without it, it's too hard.
