This worked! I tried the green tea one and finally my cake rose well all spongy and I used cake tin straps too. My issue earlier was my cake was flat and I wasn't beating it long enough - no where near 8mins thank you

@@chuuyasanestsimp I suggest using stainless steel bowl so the heat will transfer well to your batter but if you don't have stainless steel bowl glass bowl would be fine.

@@wombatcubes cake flour has a lower protein content and won't get chewy like a bread as quickly. you can add 1 tbs cornstarch to 1 cup AP flour, or substitute almond flour for 1/4 the mass of ap flour.

Maybe it didn't fluff properly. Make sure the water in hot temp, over 80~100 degrees Celsius. 1/4tsp of baking powder will help to make stable fluffiness,

She took out a little bit of the batter to mix with the milk and butter mixture before putting it all back in the batter, this is to prevent shocking the batter if you just straight away pour in the butter and milk. If you just pour it in straight away, it might not be as fluffy when it is out of the oven.
I think one is that you need to make sure you mix gently when incorporating the flour or the other powder. secondly, before you put it in the oven don't drop it so many times, because you just one the air bubbles on the surface to leave but not all of it. Then when it comes out of the oven, you need to drop it once more to shock the cake to prevent it from deflating. Lastly when you take it out of the pan to cool, cool it upside down on a rack to prevent it from deflating too much.

I've already tried it,but I used 1 tbsp milk and 1 tbsp coffee,yes,mocha flavor it is.Removing the top and the bottom is neccesary,I got a 1 inch tall cake,that would be a 1 layer 6 inch if used in tall cakes.It is spongey yet a little bit structural,it has to go with simple syrup.The recipe is also cheap and tasty,thank you very much ^_^.
I'm late but i wanted to answer it. You can't. But u can substitute cake flour with 1 cup of ap flour, take out 2 tbsp of flour from it and replace it with 2 tbsp of corn starch.

@@chuuyasanestsimp texture is fluffy and the taste was great. I followed the recipe exactly how it was, if you want more sweet you can add more sugar. As the sweetness for me was just right I didn't add more. Try it only if you have an electric mixer, you can't whisk the batter without it, it's too hard. Good luck!!!!
