  • No magnets. No metal plates. No clamps. It’s like magic. This fast wireless car charger from Spiegel uses nano suction technology to keep your phone in place, even without a case-and it will still charge your device. This is my unboxing and review. ⁣
    NOTE: This product is no longer available. I recommend using MagSafe, which works with smartphones (even without MagSafe support as you can use a metal ring):

    Chris, great video. Any chance you could measure the diameter of the pivot ball that connects the charging pad to the pedestal base?

    Will this work with the new matte glass on the iPhone 11 pro max?

    What is the diameter of the base that mounts to the dash, windshield, etc.? With the mount not being able to lock in a certain position, have you experienced any issues with that?

    Niceley done Review! I like that you disclosed that they had set it over for free. The Produkt is very interesting. I would have bought it for my old phone, had I known about it. You think the PET-Sticker will stick to a Google Pixel 5?
    Some Chargers do a "cooling gap" between the Phone and the Charger. So did this one get hot at all?
    English is not my native language, as I'm sure you can tell.

    What's the diameter of the suction cup surface? I have an iPhone XR with a bumper style case. Pretty confident the suction will work great on the glass back, but I want to make sure it will fit in between the bezels of the bumper case.

      Chris Duke thats good to know. The reason asking is because I’m one of the few who can and will keep my iPhone out of a case just cause I like the design. (I do purchase apple care & insurance just Incase) my problem is that I can’t use the wireless charging feature on my phone because I have one of those super thin metal plates directly in the way and mounting it anywhere else on my phone makes the phone fall off the mounts so it’s either have the magnet & plate and loose the wireless charger. I really hope this phone mount works.

    How about if you are going around a corner at about 1G? I had a few suction holders that would let go under spirited driving and end up hitting the door and landing on the floor!

    • @chris
      @chris  5 років тому +1

      I don't have the ability to test that but I can say that since I installed it, it's been quite strong. At no particular time have I felt like it was going to fall off.

    PET is a type of plastic.. That's an abbreviation of it's chemical name the same way they do for ABS and PVC

    • @chris
      @chris  5 років тому

      Thank you!!! I've heard of ABS and PVC but never PET.

      @@chris PET is the plastic with a 1 in the recycling icon, so every time you drink a bottle of soda, you've got PET plastic in your hand. And now you know! Helpful video, by the way. Thanks for posting.

    Last question....under normal use when going in and out the vehicle and since the suction is soo strong will the mount stay on the vehicle especially on extreme hot/cold days?

    • @chris

      I haven't had any issues with it based on temperature

    I have a question. In my car I need to hardwire my iPhoneX into my audio system to hear music or navigation instructions through the car speakers. Can I have the phone charging on this mount and plugged in for audio - at the same time?

    • @CalebCissna
      @CalebCissna 4 роки тому

      Cary Tenenbaum I think you can, but if the audio is through a Lightning cable the phone will charge off that, not wirelessly through the mount.

    i prefer magnetic solutions, but, i want to know if i can qi charge with plate in the middle of the coin, beucase, it may warm too much and damage my smartphone somehow... bug is much better, i tried in the low part of my inside case and the plate just turned upsidedown without falling, but is kind sad that it not make a perfect fit LOL

    Great video! I’m curious if anyone could demonstrate the mounts maximum range of tilt. I currently have a magnetic mount where my angle of tilt is close to 90 degrees. From what I can guess, this mount wont tilt all the way to 90 but it looks like it’ll go pretty close to that. Any clarity here would be appreciated thanks.

    Hey so it’s been about a month, are you still using it? How’s it been holding up?

    • @chris
      @chris  4 роки тому +2

      It's been 2 months and yes, I'm still using it. I would say that about every 1-2 weeks I have to use the supplied tape to clean the pad and I have to make sure the back of my case is clean. Other than that, it works great still!

    How easy is it to remove the phone from the holder while in the car and with one hand?

      Definitely. I do it every day one-handed (rarely do I ever use two hands actually)

    According to the link the output is 1.1amp, that's not fast charging.

    • @chris
      @chris  5 років тому +1

      Good question... when I asked them, they told me that the fast charging worked with iPhone and Android as long as a QC2.0 or 3.0 power supply was used. The manual (and outside of the box) states for output "5W/7.5W/10W" and does not state amps.
