I used to own a note and being an architect, the screen increase was awesome, but I really miss an integrated s pen. All other improvements don't seem to be worth it when I analize my day to day use and productivity! The Fold 4 is still a work horse and really fast.

I Had the 3 and the 4 now and the inner Screen of the 4 is a little bigger and the outer Screen is on another Level. Its sharper and bigger and has slimmer bezels. I didnt thought that Till i Had Mine. But although the hinge on the 4 is "better" and a little slimmer, i prefer the 3s hinge, its smoother and easier to Fold. Less stiff
I'm still using fold 3 too. I've been waiting for built in s-pen, front screen S-pen compatibility, and basically take two samsung 24 ultras to create the the fold. That would be ideal.
Lacking innovation? not really.. but a specificied marketing strategy for sales and future backup plans, innovation is the last thing samsung they worry about. if they want to make a phone with 1mm thick they can, but they dont want to, as simple as that. They are following Apple marketing strategies. Give you 2% of what the customer wants each year, that way they can have a backup plan for 30 years ahead.
Any FOLD seemed a “fold”. The 6 is the FIRST one that seems an S24 Ultra but has the fold feature. I like it a lot!!! The thing is, I expected the FOLD 6: - integrated pen (I had the last Ultras with pen and I barely used it…), just because this one is suited to write on it - S24 ultra level cameras - more battery life - lower price
Going from 1000 nits to 2600 is big No dust resistance to 4 Wider cover screen Lighter weight Updated GPU and vapor chamber Better battery life Updated wide lens A lot of these are not massive but when you add up a lot of smaller things it's quite nice, especially coming from a 3 or 4 when the flatter hinge is a big deal.
@@Derchlands you’re right they made some good improvements but I think that when you pay around €2000 for a new phone you expect nothing but that is better than your previous one. I paid €1500 for my previous phone and I have great battery life, speed, screen quality and reliability and water / dust resistance, I don’t expect to pay €2000 for a new phone with more compromises. When I buy a new phone, I expect that I can do more and faster and at least that the cameras are no worse than my previous phone. I own an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I would like to change for a foldable, but not when this new foldable is not only bigger and heavier, but also has worse cameras and dust resistance. If that is, what would do? I would wait until I have at least the same thing but affordable package then I would pay the extra to be foldable. but not paying 33% more or even higher and have a worse camera and results. Then I will think that going foldable is still not ready for the masses. I find the six very interesting but I’ll wait for a review to access how good or bad the cameras areand also the battery life. And for the price I would want that pencil is included.

I've got the Fold 3. I STILL see absolutely no reason to upgrade. PUT THE DAMN PEN IN THE PHONE, SAMSUNG!! Also, for that price, I'd want free Samsung Care for at least 5 years, a choice of case, and free screen replacement for no fault damage. Yes, I'm talking those bloody bubbles!
Agree. I have the Fold 3 and you're right, no reason to upgrade at that cost. I figured by now, we'd have a larger home screen, a huge upgrade to the cameras, and the S-Pen slot within the phone but nope. None of that. Just dust resistance and slight upgrades. Not worth the price at all for those of us that have a fold 2 or 3.

The upgrade from 3 to 6 are insignificant. We need a front display size similar to a working phone, no crease, SPEN embedded, bigger battery, at least 10mp main (unfolded) display front facing camera, AND 5G compatible material that will not cause the fold to overheat.
At this point, get an s24 ultra. Samsung is trying to minimise the size and weight of the phone, adding the spen inside the phone will make it larger and thicker that what they want now. Same for battery, and if you want bettwe camera...again get a s24 ultra...the fold is made for business people with management task and multitasking...cameras are 12mpx and 50mpx...they arent people that use selfies. Dont forget in the end its a multi fonction Phablet. It cant be perfect at everything just like the Galaxy S series isnt perfect for everything

@@MirelRC Keep in mind that tons of hidden innovations take place in the phone that doesn't make it to the marketing team. Trimming 14 grams off the Fold 5 is pretty insane in itself. Finally figuring a way to add dust protection is crucial for a daily driver phone for many people. They've made some critical upgrades to the Flip 6 that now make it a serious contender like upping the battery size, adding a vapour chamber and bumping up the ram to 12 gb while improving the cameras. Tons of other improvements too that will trickle out over time. We're long past the game changing updates in phone tech it's a matter of constant refinement and incremental upgrades now.

I remember when i first seen these phones which was when i bought my z5, i liked it but was unsure. I knew it would help with my business and what not. First few days i hated it and regretted buying it but i soon fell in love and couldn't imagine going back to a diff type of phone, its amazing! Its actually really tough as well, i work in construction and its always in my back pocket, ive dropped it a handful of times and its always been ok! I do have a case on it but still, it breaking easy was a huge concern for me and its been great. If u are on the fence about these phone's dont be, get one you will love it!

Great breakdown, I'm very tempted to jump from the 5 to the 6 especially with all the promos Samsung have emailed me, but I'll wait for the 7. It's just missing that one big thing for me, if the size or battery had a bigger bump, then that would do it for me. But alas, we wait.
The front screen is still a bit narrow. Maybe the Z Fold 8 will be the 1 with a bigger display. The crease in the middle of the phone is very visible too 🤷♂️

The Fold 6 looks so pretty. I love the angles I love the slightly wider front screen 😑 It looks good. But it's Simply not enough for me to switch from the Fold 5. So many different phone makers have a better front screen and less of a crease. I don't understand why it's taking them so long.
I'm gonna upgrade. But that's largely due to the $1200 trade in plus free storage upgrade and $100 preorder bonus. $700 for a brand new device isn't bad at all.

They should be able to read the text or listen to the adible voice if they prefer.
I'm pissed Samsung hasn't done much to the fold 6, but for $683 I can trade in my fold 512gb fold 5 and get a 1tb fold 6. I could use 1tb because I store videos from my osmo pocket 3 on it. I wonder what the price of the new foldable pixel will be with a trade in?
I was really waiting for this one.. but the wait continues. I would've been pleased with a properly wider screen only, regardless of the price ..but we didn't even get that.
The rings around the Fold 6's cameras look and feel so much less premium (in fact, they feel very, very cheap) since I had hands on with it. Honestly the small iterative upgrade would have been something I'd have gone for if it wasn't for how much cheaper the device feels in hand. Yeah, it's lighter and thinner, but somehow it feels less premium in hand due to that. Those camera rings feeling like Oppo's budget devices camera rings is a deal breaker for me. It just doesn't look nearly as impressive. (In my opinion)
Dont buy them. Really, buy an S24 Ultra. Cheaper, more RAM, better Camera, Not really smaller for 16:9, better Glass, better Battery, s pen, Titan, IP68, but yes, worse speakers.
Just bought my first fold (fold 4) for 600 bucks used in excellent condition. Honestly the upgrade only makes sense if something drastic changes. Any of the the last few folds are worth it. Whether you get it through a phone carrier or get a deal on a used one. They are beautiful phones.... im happy with kine
@@RexRex-tz3dvyou're going to the inner screen about 30% of the time, for movies and games. Hardly anyone opens their phone every single time to send a text or email. One, it's annoying to open every time because you need two hands, two, it's cumbersome to hold because again you need two hands and three it drains battery like no ones business to have the inner display open all the time. That's why people want a bigger front screen. Use it like a normal phone then when necessary have access to a bigger screen.

Im still very happy with my z fold 5 :) still make my youtube gaming videos, the screens are good still. No damage or anything to the screens, doesnt overheat. Still going strong after a year :)
I really like the new squared off look of the Fold 6 and the tighter bezels which help make the front screen wider and the inner screen more square. I also see the phone is about 14 grams lighter which is no small feat. I would have liked to see a larger 5000 mAh battery tbh but I'm sure I can get by with the 4400 mAh with the added efficiency of the SD Gen 3. Also the charging speed should have at least been bumped up to 45 watts equal to the S24 Ultra. Nice to finally see some dust resistance but 1mm limit isn't exactly going to keep much finer dirt and debris out of the hinge. I really like the improvements to the software and bump up in RAM for the Flip 6 with the added vapour chamber. Phones are definitely improving but not enough for me to trade in my S24 Ultra yet as I like the smaller form factor in my pocket....for now anyways. I'd like the see the front screen a couple mm wider on the Fold 7 along with better dust and water proofing. Improved charging and battery size as I mentioned and 16 gb of ram should be standard on this level of smartphone.
People are talking about the cameras, but this phone is geared toward business professionals and people who do a lot of productivity work and consume a ton of media on the go. The reason they havent upgraded the cameras is because they know the vast majority of fold users arent the type to take a ton of photos or videos compared to say s24 users or flip users (thats also why flip users got better cameras this year) most fold users are men who dont take a ton of photos compared to other phones in their lineup. And yes, they can add a camera bump and get better cameras, but whats the point of a thinner phone with a huge camera bump and no s pen support? They need to remove that support to make it as thin, or the s pen would only have very basic features (i know one of the Chinese brands has pen support but it still does not have the technology that the samsung s pen does).the rumored fold 6 ultra will be thinner but lose s pen support for the sake of being larger. Is it really thin if half the back pannel is comprised of a massive camera hump? Also, most of the chinese brands might have nice hardware, but hardware is meaningless without great software. It's why samsung can use 3 generation old hardware and still compete with the latest flagships from other brands. Hardware is not everything. Without good ui, all you have is an expensive phone that doesn't really push the hardware to the max anyway. Samsung also wont adopt the newest battery technology yet until they can fully ensure they wont have battery issues like they did in the past. Chinese brands dont care as much about reliability or quality control when it comes to pushing new hardware. They just want to beat samsung and they dont care if your phone has issues one or two years down the road.
I preordered the fold 2 and loved it. It unfortunately broke over the july 4th weekend and i bought a z flip 5 seeing that i cant really justify the price still. Wish it lasted until the 6th gen tbh.

I love the Fold series. I had a Fold4 and really liked it but it had hinge issues due to dust so I went back to an Ultra phone. It was really hard to give it up though. And now with the Fold6 having dust resistance and a supposedly improved hinge, I'm really tempted to go back. But man, that price is a little hard to swallow - especially since Samsung will only give me $800 trade in for my S23 Ultra so I'd still owe $1100 plus tax. Also, I really wish they'd put the same cameras in the Fold that are in the Galaxy Ultra phones. I want my 10x optical zoom.
As usual, amazing video thank you super saf. I personally am glad that the cover screen is still narrow. In my opinion that is a cover screen so it needs to be used as such. When I will get my unit I will remove all the apps from the cover screen and fill it with useful widget to be able to glance at relevant information. The cover will then be only for quick replies, and glanceable info, for anything else I will need to open.
Please make a video of older foldable phones with current software updates, so we can know if these claims made by companies for 3-5 years of software upgrades are valid. Mostly, there are new bugs with software upgrades once the warranty for the new generation of phones is in the market.
I ordered the fold 6 but i decided to also order the s24 ultra 1tb. When the fold 6 get here im sending it back. The idea of owning the fold 6 sounds more fun then it makes sense to actually own it. The outside screen is still too small, and to be forced to use the inside screen due to the lack of functionality on the narrow outside screen takes the fun away for me. The price is way too high to justify no camera upgrades, same battery, it being a hair bigger on the outside screen and shorter. Im mean come on we're getting less or the same with just ai software updates that can easily come to other devices and they will. The s 24 ultra still beats the new fold 6 and both devices get 7 years security and software updates. Keep in mind the s24 ultra came out the same year as the fold 6 and their only months apart. Why get ripped off hundreds of dollars just to say you have the latest disappointment?

Hello! I have the s22 ultra and I already want to change. I always wanted a foldable and I don't know whether to go for the fold 6 or the fold 5. In Peru Samsung is selling the 500GB fold 5 for 1450 USD. The price of the new fold has not yet been released but there will be a big difference. What do you recommend me? i have the fold 4,the inside screen only lasted 2 years of opening it vary rarely,was about to trade it in for the fold 6,when i opened it to check the condition there was a black line down the crease and the screen is completely unresponsive,talk about timing,i hope they have made the fold 6 screen more durable,imagine if i had been using the inside screen as the daily,probably only last a year.

great video be careful of the bait and switch on samsung. i just got throught the whole order and at checkout they switched the 1tb out with a 512. the 512 is more and the discount is less. i deleted the cart and started over, 1tb was raised . i'll wait for the 7 or see what else is available. I wasnt going to upgrade till i got excited for the discounts. balloon popped, oh well.
Going from a fold 3 it's definitely worth it when you factor in the battery degrading over time and the charging port wearing out and normal wear and tear in the fact that I got 900 off for my trade-in on my 3 made the price worth it

I hate when people complain about the narrow screen. I and many others LOVE the narrow screen, it makes it very easy to hold and use. If i want a bigger screen i open it. I bet most people who have pixel folds and oneplus opens probably never open it up. Using swipe typing is actually faster on a narrow screen. If you want a wider front screen buy one of the other 7 foldables on the market, why do people want to force designs when its not needed.

No much of an update. Both Apple and Samsung have been very conservative with their updates lately. They should have made the outer screen more bigger.
I'm not upgrading not because I don't like the phone but because the payment plan I'm on with Verizon won't run out until about a month before the probable fold 7 will come out. That said I really do like this update and it makes me hopeful for the next update which I will lightly get simply because my Verizon plan allows me to get a new phone with no money down basically every 2 years

Your phone is a year and a half old. It might be worth it but you can easily wait a year or two for a more meaningful upgrade. Id recommend checking one out at the store as both the flip and fold are kinda bulky especially with a case (witch you'll probably need). Also make sure where you live you have a certified repair shop incase you have any issues unfortunately

I paid €1500 for my previous phone and I have great battery life, speed, screen quality and reliability and water / dust resistance, I don’t expect to pay €2000 for a new phone with more compromises. When I buy a new phone, I expect that I can do more and faster and at least that the cameras are no worse than my previous phone. I own an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I would like to change for a foldable, but not when this new foldable is not only bigger and heavier, but also has worse cameras and dust resistance. If that is, what would do? I would wait until I have at least the same thing but affordable package then I would pay the extra to be foldable. but not paying 33% more or even higher and have a worse camera and results. Then I will think that going foldable is still not ready for the masses. I find the six very interesting but I’ll wait for a review to access how good or bad the cameras areand also the battery life. And for the price I would want that pencil is included.

Agree. I have the Fold 3 and you're right, no reason to upgrade at that cost. I figured by now, we'd have a larger home screen, a huge upgrade to the cameras, and the S-Pen slot within the phone but nope. None of that. Just dust resistance and slight upgrades. Not worth the price at all for those of us that have a fold 2 or 3.

The upgrade from 3 to 6 are insignificant. We need a front display size similar to a working phone, no crease, SPEN embedded, bigger battery, at least 10mp main (unfolded) display front facing camera, AND 5G compatible material that will not cause the fold to overheat.
At this point, get an s24 ultra. Samsung is trying to minimise the size and weight of the phone, adding the spen inside the phone will make it larger and thicker that what they want now. Same for battery, and if you want bettwe camera...again get a s24 ultra...the fold is made for business people with management task and multitasking...cameras are 12mpx and 50mpx...they arent people that use selfies. Dont forget in the end its a multi fonction Phablet. It cant be perfect at everything just like the Galaxy S series isnt perfect for everything

@@MirelRC Keep in mind that tons of hidden innovations take place in the phone that doesn't make it to the marketing team. Trimming 14 grams off the Fold 5 is pretty insane in itself. Finally figuring a way to add dust protection is crucial for a daily driver phone for many people. They've made some critical upgrades to the Flip 6 that now make it a serious contender like upping the battery size, adding a vapour chamber and bumping up the ram to 12 gb while improving the cameras. Tons of other improvements too that will trickle out over time. We're long past the game changing updates in phone tech it's a matter of constant refinement and incremental upgrades now.

I remember when i first seen these phones which was when i bought my z5, i liked it but was unsure. I knew it would help with my business and what not. First few days i hated it and regretted buying it but i soon fell in love and couldn't imagine going back to a diff type of phone, its amazing! Its actually really tough as well, i work in construction and its always in my back pocket, ive dropped it a handful of times and its always been ok! I do have a case on it but still, it breaking easy was a huge concern for me and its been great. If u are on the fence about these phone's dont be, get one you will love it!

The front screen is still a bit narrow. Maybe the Z Fold 8 will be the 1 with a bigger display. The crease in the middle of the phone is very visible too 🤷♂️

The Fold 6 looks so pretty. I love the angles I love the slightly wider front screen 😑 It looks good. But it's Simply not enough for me to switch from the Fold 5. So many different phone makers have a better front screen and less of a crease. I don't understand why it's taking them so long.

I'm pissed Samsung hasn't done much to the fold 6, but for $683 I can trade in my fold 512gb fold 5 and get a 1tb fold 6. I could use 1tb because I store videos from my osmo pocket 3 on it. I wonder what the price of the new foldable pixel will be with a trade in?

The rings around the Fold 6's cameras look and feel so much less premium (in fact, they feel very, very cheap) since I had hands on with it. Honestly the small iterative upgrade would have been something I'd have gone for if it wasn't for how much cheaper the device feels in hand.
Yeah, it's lighter and thinner, but somehow it feels less premium in hand due to that. Those camera rings feeling like Oppo's budget devices camera rings is a deal breaker for me. It just doesn't look nearly as impressive. (In my opinion)

Just bought my first fold (fold 4) for 600 bucks used in excellent condition. Honestly the upgrade only makes sense if something drastic changes. Any of the the last few folds are worth it. Whether you get it through a phone carrier or get a deal on a used one. They are beautiful phones.... im happy with kine

One, it's annoying to open every time because you need two hands, two, it's cumbersome to hold because again you need two hands and three it drains battery like no ones business to have the inner display open all the time. That's why people want a bigger front screen. Use it like a normal phone then when necessary have access to a bigger screen.

I really like the new squared off look of the Fold 6 and the tighter bezels which help make the front screen wider and the inner screen more square. I also see the phone is about 14 grams lighter which is no small feat. I would have liked to see a larger 5000 mAh battery tbh but I'm sure I can get by with the 4400 mAh with the added efficiency of the SD Gen 3. Also the charging speed should have at least been bumped up to 45 watts equal to the S24 Ultra. Nice to finally see some dust resistance but 1mm limit isn't exactly going to keep much finer dirt and debris out of the hinge. I really like the improvements to the software and bump up in RAM for the Flip 6 with the added vapour chamber. Phones are definitely improving but not enough for me to trade in my S24 Ultra yet as I like the smaller form factor in my pocket....for now anyways. I'd like the see the front screen a couple mm wider on the Fold 7 along with better dust and water proofing. Improved charging and battery size as I mentioned and 16 gb of ram should be standard on this level of smartphone.
People are talking about the cameras, but this phone is geared toward business professionals and people who do a lot of productivity work and consume a ton of media on the go. The reason they havent upgraded the cameras is because they know the vast majority of fold users arent the type to take a ton of photos or videos compared to say s24 users or flip users (thats also why flip users got better cameras this year) most fold users are men who dont take a ton of photos compared to other phones in their lineup. And yes, they can add a camera bump and get better cameras, but whats the point of a thinner phone with a huge camera bump and no s pen support? They need to remove that support to make it as thin, or the s pen would only have very basic features (i know one of the Chinese brands has pen support but it still does not have the technology that the samsung s pen does).the rumored fold 6 ultra will be thinner but lose s pen support for the sake of being larger. Is it really thin if half the back pannel is comprised of a massive camera hump? Also, most of the chinese brands might have nice hardware, but hardware is meaningless without great software. It's why samsung can use 3 generation old hardware and still compete with the latest flagships from other brands. Hardware is not everything. Without good ui, all you have is an expensive phone that doesn't really push the hardware to the max anyway. Samsung also wont adopt the newest battery technology yet until they can fully ensure they wont have battery issues like they did in the past. Chinese brands dont care as much about reliability or quality control when it comes to pushing new hardware. They just want to beat samsung and they dont care if your phone has issues one or two years down the road.
Not sure why everyone hates on Apple for lack of innovation while Samsung is charging up to 2500$$ for a “4” megapixel camera on the large tablet .

For someone who wants but has never owned a Fold, would you recommend this Samsung Fold or a previous model ?
I love the Fold series. I had a Fold4 and really liked it but it had hinge issues due to dust so I went back to an Ultra phone. It was really hard to give it up though. And now with the Fold6 having dust resistance and a supposedly improved hinge, I'm really tempted to go back. But man, that price is a little hard to swallow - especially since Samsung will only give me $800 trade in for my S23 Ultra so I'd still owe $1100 plus tax. Also, I really wish they'd put the same cameras in the Fold that are in the Galaxy Ultra phones. I want my 10x optical zoom.
As usual, amazing video thank you super saf. I personally am glad that the cover screen is still narrow. In my opinion that is a cover screen so it needs to be used as such. When I will get my unit I will remove all the apps from the cover screen and fill it with useful widget to be able to glance at relevant information. The cover will then be only for quick replies, and glanceable info, for anything else I will need to open.
Please make a video of older foldable phones with current software updates, so we can know if these claims made by companies for 3-5 years of software upgrades are valid. Mostly, there are new bugs with software upgrades once the warranty for the new generation of phones is in the market.

Sadly Samsung could not live up to your standard.
I ordered the fold 6 but i decided to also order the s24 ultra 1tb. When the fold 6 get here im sending it back. The idea of owning the fold 6 sounds more fun then it makes sense to actually own it. The outside screen is still too small, and to be forced to use the inside screen due to the lack of functionality on the narrow outside screen takes the fun away for me. The price is way too high to justify no camera upgrades, same battery, it being a hair bigger on the outside screen and shorter. Im mean come on we're getting less or the same with just ai software updates that can easily come to other devices and they will. The s 24 ultra still beats the new fold 6 and both devices get 7 years security and software updates. Keep in mind the s24 ultra came out the same year as the fold 6 and their only months apart. Why get ripped off hundreds of dollars just to say you have the latest disappointment?
I really dont understand the lack of a bigger battery. Running three screens compared to the one of the ultra with the same size battery. Thats the whole reason ive been holding out on the fold and continue to stay with the ultra

i have the fold 4,the inside screen only lasted 2 years of opening it vary rarely,was about to trade it in for the fold 6,when i opened it to check the condition there was a black line down the crease and the screen is completely unresponsive,talk about timing,i hope they have made the fold 6 screen more durable,imagine if i had been using the inside screen as the daily,probably only last a year.
Still have 2 years to pay off my fold 4, waiting on this, maybe wait til fold 8

Going from a fold 3 it's definitely worth it when you factor in the battery degrading over time and the charging port wearing out and normal wear and tear in the fact that I got 900 off for my trade-in on my 3 made the price worth it

I hate when people complain about the narrow screen. I and many others LOVE the narrow screen, it makes it very easy to hold and use. If i want a bigger screen i open it. I bet most people who have pixel folds and oneplus opens probably never open it up. Using swipe typing is actually faster on a narrow screen. If you want a wider front screen buy one of the other 7 foldables on the market, why do people want to force designs when its not needed.

No much of an update. Both Apple and Samsung have been very conservative with their updates lately. They should have made the outer screen more bigger.
I'm not upgrading not because I don't like the phone but because the payment plan I'm on with Verizon won't run out until about a month before the probable fold 7 will come out. That said I really do like this update and it makes me hopeful for the next update which I will lightly get simply because my Verizon plan allows me to get a new phone with no money down basically every 2 years

Folds are Bad right now.
Your phone is a year and a half old. It might be worth it but you can easily wait a year or two for a more meaningful upgrade. Id recommend checking one out at the store as both the flip and fold are kinda bulky especially with a case (witch you'll probably need). Also make sure where you live you have a certified repair shop incase you have any issues unfortunately
