WOWSERS!
Crazy Wumpus!
Great tutorial, thanX for chief Wumpus!
God damn, this language is amazing.
You're fucking awesome man
I loved this tutorial, thank you so much! Question: Now that Ableton Live 11 is out, would you have changed your process using comping with linked tracks instead for a less destructive approach?
What a high performing Wumpus!
everything makes sense until the filter cutoff.. i dont get any wumpus until the filter goes past 1k. cant hear anything around 300. hz so i dunno how you pulled that off as your max cutoff for wumpus without losing the sound. i've walked through it a couple times and im baffled.
turn freq>key to 0%
@@ChronicalV My man!!! I was stumped on this
this is good content. I suck at producing.
Dude, you're so funny! Thanks for the video. I laughed out loud while learning some pretty cool, technical stuff.
OMFG Nailed it! Laughed my butt off throughout this tutorial man! Awesome!
Oh shit whadup.
Incoming neuro house? Haha

It’s honestly impressive how he can be so funny and sarcastic but educational at the same time! No other UA-cam in my opinion can pull that off.
It seriously is. I discovered him after I already had some understanding, so I just appreciate everything even more!
My thoughts exactly

Watch The Side Eye Guy lol
''myspace frequency'' lmao
@John Proctor he said that at a certain point, lower frequencies aren't heard on a phone speaker. So if someone's listening on a phone, it's important to boost the frequencies the phone can play. I assume "Myspace " refers to the fact that your friends may be discovering your music through a social media app such as myspace, which probably means they're using their phone.
Right? 😂😂😂
@@ThatGuy-mj6jm thanks man
I guess everyone knows this but he's the Bob Ross of internet production.
wow, that's accurate
How about Bob Lazar.
totally.

Just when I thought i broke the habit of singing "Two Chainz" in my head everytime I add to a rack, he bring it back.
Audio Effect Rack = 2 Chainz

This doesn't work on Ableton Live 11 unfortunately, as is the case with a lot of Operator tutorials online now. No idea why they'd change all the defaults like that, it really messed up a lot of older content. I had an Ableton instructor look at a project file from a modular drum patch tutorial I was trying to follow online and he was stumped, it just wasn't compatible with my version of Ableton.
I really wish they'd just left it alone, this neurobass sounds great!
I thought I was going crazy when mine didn't sound the same
yo thank you so much for this comment, I just spent the past 2 hours trying to recreate this not understanding what the heck was wrong
@@stankoproduction no worries! Ableton have confirmed that this is a bug, not sure what the plan is but hopefully it'll be solved

SeamlessR wants to know your location
This is basically SeamlessR but he doesn't stumble over his words every 5 seconds. I'm not questioning the guy's abilities at all, but you gotta admit that this is more pleasant to listen to.
Nick the work flow in the video resembles contemporary artist such that of mefjus and Audio (the producer) while seamlessR replicates older sounds like spore while doing some experimental stuff
Nick i love both. But i use FL so it’s a bit easier to retain information from seamless because its the same daw. Theyre both awesome and have different teaching styles
@@BiggusNickus also less in depth and more meme driven
@@010WhatMy You don't really know anything about neurofunk, do you?
"OTT is the MSG of EDM"
Absolutely on point, sir
You see fellows, the secret to bass is that you can never have enough OTT. Missing some sauce? OTT. New effects took away some sauce OTT. Already have enough sauce? OTT.
You have too much sauce now, well OTT. You've been stuck in your room for 5 hours making Neuro basses and your parents are concerned? Slap some OTT on your parents.
you've been kicked out of your house and are in dire need of food. eat some /msg/ OTT. Dead? ...
Just remember, you can never have enough OTT, and if you keep slapping them on, you'll eventually solve all your problems.
I really appreciate seeing your keystrokes displayed on screen. Very helpful
Can anyone explain why I have to raise my filter freq up to around 1.9kHz before I get the same sound as his at 300Hz? I've gone through the video multiple times and triple checked that every parameter in my Operator is the same from the very start and have no idea why I can't hear anything but low bass below 1.9kHz - any insight would be greatly appreciated!
I was literally just working on a track where my phallus' weren't phat enough. Thanks for this vid.
Watched every video you've ever made and I legitimately think this takes the cake for most informative
I am following this step for step and for some reason the sound goes super quiet and barely audible. It also does not sound anything like yours. Any suggestions?
Note: Gone through it twice now and same thing, cant nail down what is making it so quiet and weird sounding.
I have this weird thing with operator in ableton 11, I have to push the filter above 10khz to get the full sound of the harmonics (even though they sit at no more than 310hz. I start hearing them at around 1khz cutoff), if I put it at 300hz like you did in your video I hear basically nothing (only a muffled fundamental, no harmonics), even if I push the levels really high. On the spectrum it looks like the filter reduces the sound waaay below the cutoff, at 1khz the third harmonic is at -48 db, with the cutoff at the max it's at like -7db, at 300hz they're at an abysmal ~-100db.
For this test (no effects after operator), I have the three oscillators at 0db (except the second harmonic, I put it at -4.4db), and operators output is at -5.4db (I get distortion above that). (Also, unrelated, for some reason the sustain is at the max on the first oscillator by default but not on the others).
Also I don't understand how you can get this sound with -12 to -15db on the oscillators and -12db on the output, I have to push everything way higher to get the saturation to do anything.
Overall I can get a similar sound by changing levels and cutoffs but I just wonder why it works differently on my system, anyone knows why ? I just want my filters to work like they should.
SAME BUT I FOUND THE SOLUTION! His Operator probably has different default settings to ours so I had to check every single one of his settings and match them up. I found that there was a setting in my operator filter that was messing everything up. It's the freq>key setting, which I had be default at 100% when it should've been at 0% like in the video.
@@lolioliol360 Oooh thank you didn't realize keytracking was enabled by default, that must be it

That was really damn cleaver mate, got a very specific and very satisfying chuckle out of me.
Welcome back by the way!
Happened right before I read this. I was wondering if I was the only one who appreciated that as much as I did. Glad to see I'm not.
in the newer versions of Ableton, Default settings of Operator are different than what we see in the video. Pause and check if your settings match. I also had to turn down the freq
dude it was driving me crazy, i’m like…. why is this not working hahaha like i have every set the same???? it was freq key hahaha thanks 🤣
I set the first filter to max at 300hz and can barely hear anything. Not sure how yours is coming thru so strong. Where I get confused as well is the bandpass filter stops at 700hz, but if the first filter in operator cuts out at 300hz wouldn't we not get any frequencies at 700hz?
@Silas turn freq
love you belly

i guess I don't get what the neuro rack was controlling? Was that the original neuro patch created? Tried downloading from the dropbox but it was removed.
SUCH simple techniques for making such phatt sausages. Wowzers
this is one of the best tutorials I've seen in a long time. Thank you & well done : )
I MISSED THESE VIDEOS DUDE
I know it takes a lot of time and effort to make these tutorials both informative and hilarious but more Operator would be highly appreciated :')
it's very powerful, i've always underestimated Operator
I followed along with Massive 1 and Reaper. Trickiest part was the sweeping bandpass filter. In the trim selection you can choose the mod option for the freq of the bp filter and lock it to the macro you use for the LP filter in Massive. Also instead of a separate chain bypassing the band pass filter, you can just adjust the wet/dry mix (i was using ReaEQ). I also just grabbed the OTT plug-in from xfer, it's free.

Wowzers, I'm surprised to see a real video again.
8:59 When you use a neuro bass as a censor 💯
when i add the saturator mine creates a completely static sound (your saturator seems to be moving, like theres an lfo modulating one of the parameters). on the spectrum you can see frequencies moving but on mine they're completely still
same issue - did you ever figure it out?
i love u underbean
