My inspiration from day 1 starting with Berkelee college gospel chops vids
I saw Animals as Leaders live a few months ago in ATL and you can tell these three guys love to play and they are so fuckin tight. Their style is so organic and unique. Out of my 18 years of playing guitar I have never felt so inspired and overall CHALLENGED when it comes to learning their songs. I hope the three of them realize they are carrying the flag for all things rock and metal right now. THEYRE IT. I know there are many bands like periphery and between the buried and me but this band is the shit. They would headline out of those bands any day. And they do all of that without a singer. Rush may be calling it quits so AAL will be my favorite trio to go see live until they break up or I die.
bobinchainz love your appreciation, but it's sad that AAL doesn't get as many listeners because of their unique style. personally I admire the shit out of all these guys and love what they're doing, but I can't listen to them for too long man. the time signatures exhaust me in a good way 😂 hope to see em live in the foreseeable future
I actually met him at NAMM earlier that day, while meeting a mutual friend of my buddy, who turned out to be Billy Rymer. He kinda snuck up next to me when I was talking to Rymer(He's really short, and I am really tall) and eagerly introduced himself "HI, I'M MATT!!" Made me laugh, talked for a little bit and he turned out to be an absolute monster drummer. Super, super nice dude too.

Roeland C.P. Braaksma he wasnt as pushed into the mainstream back then, but he was pretty well known in the drumming community. myself and a lot of others knew him from the Berkley shit he did back in the day

The Crazy thing is that Matt wasn't even in the band at the time that this album came out. it was just Tosin himself that's why the drums sound slightly different because Matt added his own flare.
For extra information it was misha mansoor (band periphery) who programmed the drums
