Just beat Elden Beast for the first time today after 2 days of frustration. I was level 153. I kept dying with a tonne of health pots left over, so what helped me was putting a lot of points into vigor. I think I had like 80. I also used the erdtree blessing, protection of the erdtree and golden vow incantations to offer a lot of damage reduction. After that, I beat it on my first attempt with ease.
I was literally screaming with my fist in the air when I defeated the elden beast. It was probably the hardest fair boss fight I've ever had. I write "fair" because Malenia was probably harder but that boss fight felt unfair to me. The boss fight against the elden beast was beautiful, like poetry or a dance. Dodging its attacks required more finesse than any other boss. With skill, patience and good positioning you could be impervious. But the beast has so much in his arsenal that it was very difficult. I had to come up with new strategies that I haven't used in any other boss fight. I had to change mixed physick, talismans. I used any item that would reduce holy damage and increase my own. And finally after many attempts I did it. Also the fight against Radagon was also amazing. I had goosebumps during the fight hearing the main theme and fighting against the god who I had heard about throughout the entire game. Radagon, consort of Marika, husband of Rennala, a god. Easily top 3 games I've ever played. A masterpiece of masterpieces.
Ngl as someone who has played a lot of games including RPG's but never a soulslike game, the Elden Beast is one of the most beautiful and magnificent boss fights I've ever seen, the boss' eldritch appearance/design, the music, the scenery, it's so gorgeous

I forget what build I was using on my second playthrough but I struggled. I just finished my third playthrough and was using a strength/faith build and and was struggling again. As soon as I got to the Elden Beast, I understood. Yes, the boss fight is annoying, and definitely not easy. But…. It’s not meant to be hard. Miyazaki knew there were harder bosses aka Malenia, so, he tried something different. He made an experience, one of lights, music, and true atmosphere. The Elden Beast isn’t the final boss because it is tough, it is the final boss because it is beautiful and iconic.
So basically we can assume that Marika got hit by it's Crucifixion attack? That would explain why half of her body is missing because she literally got speared and tortured.
I wrote a big theory on this but basically that spike is half of the Death Rune Maliketh wields. She used to be called the Dusk Eyed Queen and because she worked against the Greater Will the Shadowbound had to intervene. Only Maliketh had access to red and black death rune powers and the Dusk Eyed/Gloam Eyed Queen is an Empyrean, which means should have had a Shadowbound beast. Marika is always associated with Death as well, hangs in the shape of the Death Rune.

It's sooo beautiful...
When dude first time comes at you with the Menu music, you're fucked.
FromSoft might be the best drug dealers in the world
I thought the Elden Beast is a cosmic penguin
lmaooo
Marika looks the way she does is because she shattered the elden ring and because she more or less is the elden ring it shattered her body too
@@championofash9548 Ah ok
bro beat a god then the next cutscene you see his goofy ass hair and nose 💀
It looks like Marika was a real babe when she was normal
Are we supposed to fight it or admire it?😯
