"you're at the gas station filling up your tank...and then when the gates are open and you're back in the game, you fly ahead of everyone because you've done the work that nobody does." - this filled me with a lot of hope. Ive said a lot during this that I feel like my life got so small and life is passing me by. This really sucks, but it's also causing me to really look at things and change how I think about...everything.
I know... it really does suck! And i am always careful to be sure what im saying doesnt sound patronizing, but in this case, it couldnt be more true from at least my personal experience. MECFS makes us into superheroes and when we recover, life just doesnt hit the same way it used to; because we know how to manage stress so well!
I really enjoyed hearing these words too! I love achieving things, and this whole 6 year CFS journey has left me unable to achieve so much but now I can tell myself I'm progressing in my own personal growth. Thank you Anj and Raelan. 😊❤

Anj has such a brilliant way of explaining things. Listening to this interview helped me realize why brain retraining only got me so far. I really had to do more work on calming my nervous system before the cognitive learnings could “stick.” I love that she mentioned a healing mindset vs. a cure mindset. Her description of limbic kindling was just terrific. Thanks for this interview, Raelan! You did a masterful job of stopping her to clarify things.
Prior to doing Anj's program I had spent thousands on Brain Retraining and Nervous System Reset Programs along with working with functional neurologist and specialists. I hesitated joining Anj's program because of my lack of progress with the previous experiences but something kept pulling me towards her. I'm so glad I listened to my gut. Anj has constructed not only an incredibly easy program to follow but one that makes it easy to understand what's happening with your body and mind and delivers a powerful and doable approach to recovery. It was the first time I was seeing real change and improvement.

Which programs did you do? I've done Irene Lyon's 21 Day, Jason McTiernan's program, CFS Recovery, and did release work (mostly using Daniel Van L's program) for well over a year. Still stuck with moderate CFS. Doing heaps of safety work for 2 years but my body won't let me expand activity without crashing. I don't know if Anj's program will just not work like all the others!! I have no idea what I'm missing that I haven't already learnt.

What a great interview. I appreciate Anj and what she shares so much! I haven't participated in her program, only subscribed to the newsletter, but it's so helpful and often pure Gold. Her Wobble meditation helped me through many crashes and symptom flares. That sentence about people taking you with them when they leave hit very hard!! I only realized the extent of my attachment trauma when I got sick, and it was an absolutely shattering experience. So many things to address on the path to healing. :) As my therapist puts it, some just don't get the "this is how it should be- default setting", and while exploring and unlearing the coping strategies that might have saved you as a child but contribute to stress, illness and further trauma as an adult is challening, it's so worth it!

Yes! I love this interview. I’ve been healing my trauma for years and the only thing I can’t do yet is live my authenticity. I’m still trying to find myself as I was not allowed to have passions or expression or my own needs when I was young. It’s a journey. But this is the missing piece I’ve been looking for. ❤🙏🏼
I LOVE hearing that someone is having a-ha moments, in my program we call them LIGHTBULB moments (after thomas edison haha who created the lightbulb, by which I named my course, the edison effect) haha. Keep going because those light bulb moments were the key to my recovery! As I so often say, the foundation of recovery is awareness!

Such a brilliant interview. Please have Anj back! Great to hear she is writing a book I will look out for that. About the hyper sensitivity, I wonder if some of us have neurodivergence or ADHD or autism because I really related to the strength of feelings, and the freight train of thoughts I couldn’t stop, people with neurodivergence have more thoughts on average I think which can be overwhelming and distressing.
I discovered I'm ADHD and Autistic after getting CFS. But I only realised once I was healed. After my son was diagnosed although I'd always suspected. I know now that I'm more prone to burnout, so I'm careful with how I live my life and use my energy ❤️

@@healingjourney722I don't think it was one thing, definitely a mixture of acupuncture, chiropractor, Pilates, nervous system regulation & brain retraining. I also moved to a new city and that was huge for me. I had been unhappy in the city I got sick for a very long time. I then attracted the most amazing people and things into my life. Which was the final piece of the puzzle.
Great phrase-Kidnapped from my life, thank God! I’d actually asked God to get me off this world of terrible stress in work life, and looking at 20 more years of the same was impossible. I was overwhelmed and slowing declining for 2 years before the mono hit at 46. BOOM. Careful what you ask for! That was 2003..Mild to moderate now and very grateful for all the blessings in my life.🙏❤️💯

Wow!!!! You got it. I see it, I see it all. It takes all four pillars. Some of us has more or less to do in each pillars. That’s why the recovery time is different for everyone. Example, if you’ve had less trauma in your life and you are already eating well then you are way ahead of the game. Recovery time depends upon how you got sick, and the shape you were in in reference to all four pillows before you got sick. that’s why you hear of some people getting well in two or three months after starting brain retraining because they were already in good shape in reference to the other pillars , it makes perfect sense.

Yes. I also feel that M.E was a gift...one I wouldnt wish on anyone, but coming through the hell is the path to something that I dont think I could have reached any other way? Looking back I also see the path that led me there and understand now that I see things others dont see and always have...who knew!! My inner child is very happy with the life I lead now, even tho' not completely well.

hey, its not a competition and your suffering is valid, even if i had a more severe experience; if you've never had it that bad, you have no frame of reference, so your crashes are the worst you have ever had them, and I know it feels like HELL when it happens, because it sure did for me when I was mild, when I had no idea it could get worse. Totally needed this - tried brain retraining, but i too am just now working to slow down my thoughts. All i can really do right now is meditation and that is plenty. Once i those racing thoughts chilled out i'll try again. I've also been doing the trauma work a bit too early i believe, based on what she's saying. Thanks Raelan. You always bring the best stuff.

Hey there dear - I hear you on brain retraining- one thing to consider is that we are all brain retraining all the time - its a process of nueroplasticity that cannot be avoided, only shifted. So you dont stress if the METHOD by which you are brain retraining isnt working for you - find a work around - visit another pillar and return to brain retraining when the body shifts and you have more energy to work with - you can do it - i believe in you
These video provide so many nuggets. I didnt find the videos for a while due to the title. They should include, autoimmune, MCS, etc. more people would find them. Each story provides a different insight.🌻

Wonderful & Inspiring! The energy you both create together, well, if I could bottle it, I would!! I really get the thing about building habits. After a period of hospitalisation with crazy symptoms (when, of course, they found nothing and told me I was fine), I committed to meditation on a daily basis, morning and night. And I'm a bit rubbish at meditation! But I refused to stop and so this is my own humble suggestion to anyone also here in the trenches, keep at it even if you think a. it's not working or b. like me, you think you're rubbish at it. It works at many different levels, over time, in its own time. Again, a million thanks and gratitudes from over here in the sceptered isle, the UK! x
I was exactly the same way! I just refused to stop doing it - and when I started I was slumped against a wall with pillows all around me, almost incapable of sitting up! The impacts came in waves and those waves got bigger and bigger! I'm so glad you're having success!

Its crazy how suffering from CFS makes one have a different perspective of who you really are. Alot of personal questioning goes on as one struggles to recover.

this is probably my favourite recovery story so far - all the other videos have been very helpful for forming understanding about CFS and getting the different pieces of the puzzle - this one helps explain how to put them together. might not relate to everyone but really relatable to me as Ive been trying brain training with little success - now I will try to focus on bottom up practices and meditation first. Another big one for me that i havent heard many people mention is sleep hygeine. Years of being housebound has shot my circadian rhythm to shreds, and this is very confusing for your brain and body. So I am focusing on forming healthier sleeping patterns, along with meditation and somatic exercises, before i dive back into classic brain retraining.
Glad for her recovery, she looks and sounds great! I think you have to determine what may have contributed to your getting ME/CFS or what kinds of damage you have because some have more physical injury such as damage from toxins for example. It appears that hers was all or mostly stress. I think it's important not to get your hopes up and keep trying program after program hoping one will work but look into other areas of healing as well. ❤
yes, the main source of my issues was trauma, but I also had a concussion, mold exposure, and a bad virus. It's more about the allostatic load that is eventually pushed over the edge; so I disagree. Getting your hopes up is one of the best things you can do in recovery; and turning over every stone until you find the right combination of the 4 pillars is a great approach to getting well, and is working for so many people in my program who ALL have different final triggers that caused them to get sick. @@AnjGranieri I think it's wonderful that it helps some people but there was a poster here who said she tried several programs with no success so I don't want people to think it will help everyone. There are so many facets to me/CFS such as defects in genes, toxin accumulation, pathogens and viruses including Lyme and related viruses, malnutrition and low nutrient levels, gut dysbiosis, immune system disregulation, hormone and endocrine problems. There has to be some work on the body for those people whose perfect storm that led to me/cfs involves some of those things.
@@carrierobinson8046 working on the body is pillar 3 in my philosophy of recovery and program and I would never tell people not to work on that pillar; its important.
Love this, I agree on all four pillars being so important and I can really relate to the issues with identity and codependency. I love Dr Joe Dispenza’s you are the placebo meditation because it has three parts that involve both somatic and cognitive rewiring 😊
I think Anj and I are actually the same person, all the way down to the ED and the nervous system education, the mental breakdown due to being with an addict and taking care of everything! And reactivated EBV that was the tipping point! I have a degree in behavioral neuroscience too. And the paralysis.

There is an old episode of Golden Girls from 1989 where they tried to tackle chronic fatigue. Twenty five years ago and they we're STILL being gaslighted! Just sayin'.
Yes, I've seen that episode! I am a Golden Girls nut haha I think I've seen the whole series twice. The wonderful thing is that while doctors may still gaslight us, we do have MECFS specialists now, like the one I went to see at the Nuero Immune Institute for MECFS research in Florida. So at least there is MORE understanding and some real help out there. And also, unlike in 1989 when it was called "yuppie flu" there is the internet and access to SO many recovery stories - which without them, I dont think I would've gotten better because all I kept hearing was that this illness is a plague to suffer with forever. So I am VERY glad to live in this age, not in 1989, and VERY glad for Raelan and her channel, which started me on my path. Now, I help others, and have watched people get well over and over. It feels like the highest calling of my life, to do this incredibly difficult and often times exhausting, but beautiful, enriching work - and to watch people get their lives back and be able to go back out and give their talents to the world. Wishing you SO MUCH love in your recovery journey.

I agree with the concept of multiple things needed. I feel like I’ve improved a lot on NS work & brain retraining. Now I’m looking into paxlovid/HBOT/ozone. Haven’t decided which one to try first but feels like the next step to get me further.
I hope it helps you! HBOT is a great tool; just you MUST understand how to pace and expand when you feel better, cause you will with enough HBOT - I got very sick from not understanding this and moving too fast when I felt better!

This was a wonderful interview. Thank-you Raelan and Anj. - I've been struggling with post viral syndromes and vax injury since 1990, disabled for 34 yrs now. But other things contributing to all this dysregulation, are toxic mold colonization, Bartonella and Mycoplasma infections impacting me neurologically and more recently covid vax injury and long covid. I wonder did Anj have any of these additional issues contributing to her allostatic load? Nothing much seems to be budging since a big relapse in 2016 after experiencing trauma, break-up and treatment change. I have done EMDR and Psych K- trauma work and brain retraining DNRS and Primal Trust. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and did Anj use ANS rewire at all? Thx!
Hey there my dear!! It's so good to see you on here :) Yes I did have other things, thats why I speak about pillar 3 (supporting the body) and how it does matter. I had mold (lived in a house with mold and exposed to mold rebuilding a 1974 camper), I had reactivated viruses (EBV, coxsackie virus, etc), and bartonella. I also suffered a concussion in 2019 when I was mild that moved things along lol. What I hear most in your comment is "nothing much seems to be budging since a big relapse in 2016 after experiencing trauma, break-up and treatment change" - and that tells me a lot. Often times these emotional events (same for me) push us over the edge. But if you have done trauma work already which is awesome, pershaps you need help with expanding/contracting and supporitng the body in order to get well? Are you pacing? Do you know how to pace? A lot of what she describes at the start, like not being able to stop and being sensitive, sounds like undiagnosed ADHD. Neurodivergent people are so much more prone to chronic illness, it's like a double whammy. Great interview.
Ive had a lot of testing done. Havent been tested or told i have ME/CFS I dont need it to work the program right? I definitely am in a less than ideal situation thats for sure

I've seen similar elsewhere - my health coach is writing a book on it, and Curable has parts of it as well. I think it's our future for the CFS/chronic pain world. Even a $20 ebook would get me, fwiw, but I think some of us long timers just don't want another extended course or community. At least I don't/can't financially.

Hey dear - i come from a nuerodivergent family and while I have not been diagnosed, I do think I probably fall on the spectrum somewhere - but i dont think that necessarily is a precursor to MECFS - just one of my personal factors. Being with a "bad person" so called isnt "what makes someone sick." Its a collage of events, a pattern of revving up the nervous system and never downshifting back to regulation, causing more hyper arousal and more sensitivity in the stress response. If you are with someone who is hurting or abusing you, please seek help - it is out there, but sometimes its hard to leave these people because we are trauma bonded to them. Sending you so much love.

Hi, there wasn't enough time to speak to every aspect of recovery, but chronic insomnia was a huge hurdle to overcome in my journey. It had to be addressed almost first, because we cant get well if we cant sleep. What are you doing now to manage insomnia?
@@TheEdisonEffect after one year of sleeping 2-3 hours per night and having panic attacks the rest of the night. I have recently managed to sleep 5-6 per night and cleared the panic. I did the sleep coach school and learned no efforts. Just accept and befriend wakefullness. Signal safety to my brain. However i feel traumatised around sleep. Ive also gone from housebound to gentle walks 40 mins mornings. I have improved at least. Thankyou for asking. I am not on any meds now.
@@briechilli4496 sounds like youre on a great path - if you can get sunlight on your eyes just as the sun is coming up, it can help so much to reset your body too!
hallucinations, trigeminal neuralgia, derealization, air hunger, crushing fatigue, muscle paralysis, stammering and stuttering, brain fog, heart palpitations, POTS, crushing noise light and touch sensitivity, sensation of bugs crawling on my skin, ocular migraines, screen intolerance, vertigo, inability to sleep, tinnitus, terrible PMS, chest heaviness like an elephant was standing on it 24-7, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance. I did mention some of these in the interview but not all of them. I don’t talk a lot about symptoms to protect listeners. It can be triggering or even traumatizing to listen to someone go on about every thing that’s wrong in their body, and it doesn’t help anything really. And whatever our symptoms, the 4 pillars applies. How our body manifest symptoms doesn’t change the tools we can use to address them. Rooting for you ❤

"you're at the gas station filling up your tank...and then when the gates are open and you're back in the game, you fly ahead of everyone because you've done the work that nobody does." - this filled me with a lot of hope. Ive said a lot during this that I feel like my life got so small and life is passing me by. This really sucks, but it's also causing me to really look at things and change how I think about...everything.
I know... it really does suck! And i am always careful to be sure what im saying doesnt sound patronizing, but in this case, it couldnt be more true from at least my personal experience. MECFS makes us into superheroes and when we recover, life just doesnt hit the same way it used to; because we know how to manage stress so well!
I really enjoyed hearing these words too! I love achieving things, and this whole 6 year CFS journey has left me unable to achieve so much but now I can tell myself I'm progressing in my own personal growth.

I really had to do more work on calming my nervous system before the cognitive learnings could “stick.” I love that she mentioned a healing mindset vs. a cure mindset. Her description of limbic kindling was just terrific. Thanks for this interview, Raelan! You did a masterful job of stopping her to clarify things.
Prior to doing Anj's program I had spent thousands on Brain Retraining and Nervous System Reset Programs along with working with functional neurologist and specialists. I hesitated joining Anj's program because of my lack of progress with the previous experiences but something kept pulling me towards her. I'm so glad I listened to my gut. Anj has constructed not only an incredibly easy program to follow but one that makes it easy to understand what's happening with your body and mind and delivers a powerful and doable approach to recovery. It was the first time I was seeing real change and improvement.
I got chills! I remember our first discovery call and my heart just breaking watching you in such a state; wanting so badly to play with your kids, not sure how to hope. My dear, watching you come so far has been incredible. Thank you thank you thank you for entrusting me with part of your journey. It’s been an honor and a privilege.
Which programs did you do? I've done Irene Lyon's 21 Day, Jason McTiernan's program, CFS Recovery, and did release work (mostly using Daniel Van L's program) for well over a year. Still stuck with moderate CFS. Doing heaps of safety work for 2 years but my body won't let me expand activity without crashing.
I don't know if Anj's program will just not work like all the others!! I have no idea what I'm missing that I haven't already learnt.

What a great interview. I appreciate Anj and what she shares so much! I haven't participated in her program, only subscribed to the newsletter, but it's so helpful and often pure Gold. Her Wobble meditation helped me through many crashes and symptom flares. That sentence about people taking you with them when they leave hit very hard!! I only realized the extent of my attachment trauma when I got sick, and it was an absolutely shattering experience. So many things to address on the path to healing. :) As my therapist puts it, some just don't get the "this is how it should be- default setting", and while exploring and unlearing the coping strategies that might have saved you as a child but contribute to stress, illness and further trauma as an adult is challening, it's so worth it!
I am SO thrilled to hear that the wobble meditation has helped you - i know that when i created it, i thought of the meditation that i wished was available when I was sick. Yes! I love this interview. I’ve been healing my trauma for years and the only thing I can’t do yet is live my authenticity. I’m still trying to find myself as I was not allowed to have passions or expression or my own needs when I was young.

About the hyper sensitivity, I wonder if some of us have neurodivergence or ADHD or autism because I really related to the strength of feelings, and the freight train of thoughts I couldn’t stop, people with neurodivergence have more thoughts on average I think which can be overwhelming and distressing.

I discovered I'm ADHD and Autistic after getting CFS. But I only realised once I was healed.
After my son was diagnosed although I'd always suspected.
I know now that I'm more prone to burnout, so I'm careful with how I live my life and use my energy ❤️

@@healingjourney722I don't think it was one thing, definitely a mixture of acupuncture, chiropractor, Pilates, nervous system regulation & brain retraining. I also moved to a new city and that was huge for me.
I had been unhappy in the city I got sick for a very long time. I then attracted the most amazing people and things into my life. Which was the final piece of the puzzle.

Wow!!!! You got it. I see it, I see it all. It takes all four pillars. Some of us has more or less to do in each pillars. That’s why the recovery time is different for everyone. Example, if you’ve had less trauma in your life and you are already eating well then you are way ahead of the game. Recovery time depends upon how you got sick, and the shape you were in in reference to all four pillows before you got sick. that’s why you hear of some people getting well in two or three months after starting brain retraining because they were already in good shape in reference to the other pillars , it makes perfect sense.

Yes. I also feel that M.E was a gift...one I wouldnt wish on anyone, but coming through the hell is the path to something that I dont think I could have reached any other way? Looking back I also see the path that led me there and understand now that I see things others dont see and always have...who knew!! Totally needed this - tried brain retraining, but i too am just now working to slow down my thoughts. All i can really do right now is meditation and that is plenty. This resonates a lot with me. I’ve tried brain retraining so much but it just doesn’t help. I always had to calm my mind with my body and could NOT calm my body with my mind. I will look into bottom up and limbic kindling, very interesting take

Hey there dear - I hear you on brain retraining- one thing to consider is that we are all brain retraining all the time - its a process of nueroplasticity that cannot be avoided, only shifted. So you dont stress if the METHOD by which you are brain retraining isnt working for you - find a work around - visit another pillar and return to brain retraining when the body shifts and you have more energy to work with - you can do it - i believe in you
These video provide so many nuggets. I didnt find the videos for a while due to the title. They should include, autoimmune, MCS, etc. more people would find them. Each story provides a different insight.🌻

Wonderful & Inspiring! The energy you both create together, well, if I could bottle it, I would!! I really get the thing about building habits. After a period of hospitalisation with crazy symptoms (when, of course, they found nothing and told me I was fine), I committed to meditation on a daily basis, morning and night. And I'm a bit rubbish at meditation! But I refused to stop and so this is my own humble suggestion to anyone also here in the trenches, keep at it even if you think a. it's not working or b. like me, you think you're rubbish at it. I was exactly the same way! I just refused to stop doing it - and when I started I was slumped against a wall with pillows all around me, almost incapable of sitting up! The impacts came in waves and those waves got bigger and bigger! I'm so glad you're having success!

this is probably my favourite recovery story so far - all the other videos have been very helpful for forming understanding about CFS and getting the different pieces of the puzzle - this one helps explain how to put them together. might not relate to everyone but really relatable to me as Ive been trying brain training with little success - now I will try to focus on bottom up practices and meditation first. Another big one for me that i havent heard many people mention is sleep hygeine. Years of being housebound has shot my circadian rhythm to shreds, and this is very confusing for your brain and body. So I am focusing on forming healthier sleeping patterns, along with meditation and somatic exercises, before i dive back into classic brain retraining.

Glad for her recovery, she looks and sounds great! I think you have to determine what may have contributed to your getting ME/CFS or what kinds of damage you have because some have more physical injury such as damage from toxins for example. It appears that hers was all or mostly stress. I think it's important not to get your hopes up and keep trying program after program hoping one will work but look into other areas of healing as well. ❤
yes, the main source of my issues was trauma, but I also had a concussion, mold exposure, and a bad virus. It's more about the allostatic load that is eventually pushed over the edge; so I disagree. Getting your hopes up is one of the best things you can do in recovery; and turning over every stone until you find the right combination of the 4 pillars is a great approach to getting well, and is working for so many people in my program who ALL have different final triggers that caused them to get sick. Thank you so much for your feedback on my interview, and I am wishing you SO MUCH CONTINUED STRENGTH as you find your way back to health.
@@AnjGranieri I think it's wonderful that it helps some people but there was a poster here who said she tried several programs with no success so I don't want people to think it will help everyone. There are so many facets to me/CFS such as defects in genes, toxin accumulation, pathogens and viruses including Lyme and related viruses, malnutrition and low nutrient levels, gut dysbiosis, immune system disregulation, hormone and endocrine problems. There has to be some work on the body for those people whose perfect storm that led to me/cfs involves some of those things.
@@carrierobinson8046 working on the body is pillar 3 in my philosophy of recovery and program and I would never tell people not to work on that pillar; its important.

I think Anj and I are actually the same person, all the way down to the ED and the nervous system education, the mental breakdown due to being with an addict and taking care of everything! And reactivated EBV that was the tipping point! I have a degree in behavioral neuroscience too. And the paralysis.

There is an old episode of Golden Girls from 1989 where they tried to tackle chronic fatigue. Twenty five years ago and they we're STILL being gaslighted! Just sayin'.
Yes, I've seen that episode! I am a Golden Girls nut haha I think I've seen the whole series twice. The wonderful thing is that while doctors may still gaslight us, we do have MECFS specialists now, like the one I went to see at the Nuero Immune Institute for MECFS research in Florida. So at least there is MORE understanding and some real help out there. And also, unlike in 1989 when it was called "yuppie flu" there is the internet and access to SO many recovery stories - which without them, I dont think I would've gotten better because all I kept hearing was that this illness is a plague to suffer with forever. So I am VERY glad to live in this age, not in 1989, and VERY glad for Raelan and her channel, which started me on my path. Now, I help others, and have watched people get well over and over. It feels like the highest calling of my life, to do this incredibly difficult and often times exhausting, but beautiful, enriching work - and to watch people get their lives back and be able to go back out and give their talents to the world. Wishing you SO MUCH love in your recovery journey.

I agree with the concept of multiple things needed. I feel like I’ve improved a lot on NS work & brain retraining. Now I’m looking into paxlovid/HBOT/ozone. Haven’t decided which one to try first but feels like the next step to get me further.
I hope it helps you! HBOT is a great tool; just you MUST understand how to pace and expand when you feel better, cause you will with enough HBOT - I got very sick from not understanding this and moving too fast when I felt better!

This was a wonderful interview. Thank-you Raelan and Anj. - I've been struggling with post viral syndromes and vax injury since 1990, disabled for 34 yrs now. But other things contributing to all this dysregulation, are toxic mold colonization, Bartonella and Mycoplasma infections impacting me neurologically and more recently covid vax injury and long covid. I wonder did Anj have any of these additional issues contributing to her allostatic load? Nothing much seems to be budging since a big relapse in 2016 after experiencing trauma, break-up and treatment change. I have done EMDR and Psych K- trauma work and brain retraining DNRS and Primal Trust.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and did Anj use ANS rewire at all? Thx!
Hey there my dear!! It's so good to see you on here :) Yes I did have other things, thats why I speak about pillar 3 (supporting the body) and how it does matter. I had mold (lived in a house with mold and exposed to mold rebuilding a 1974 camper), I had reactivated viruses (EBV, coxsackie virus, etc), and bartonella. I also suffered a concussion in 2019 when I was mild that moved things along lol. What I hear most in your comment is "nothing much seems to be budging since a big relapse in 2016 after experiencing trauma, break-up and treatment change" - and that tells me a lot. Often times these emotional events (same for me) push us over the edge. But if you have done trauma work already which is awesome, pershaps you need help with expanding/contracting and supporitng the body in order to get well? Are you pacing? Do you know how to pace? Do you know how to expand and deal with symptoms when you do? If you want to reach out to me, shoot me an email.
A lot of what she describes at the start, like not being able to stop and being sensitive, sounds like undiagnosed ADHD. Neurodivergent people are so much more prone to chronic illness, it's like a double whammy. Great interview.

@@TheEdisonEffect That's cool but I was hoping for a how-to! Like something that shares your course work but is more accessible financially. I love the multilayered approach you're sharing. I've seen similar elsewhere - my health coach is writing a book on it, and Curable has parts of it as well. I think it's our future for the CFS/chronic pain world. Even a $20 ebook would get me, fwiw, but I think some of us long timers just don't want another extended course or community. At least I don't/can't financially.

Hey dear - i come from a nuerodivergent family and while I have not been diagnosed, I do think I probably fall on the spectrum somewhere - but i dont think that necessarily is a precursor to MECFS - just one of my personal factors. Being with a "bad person" so called isnt "what makes someone sick." Its a collage of events, a pattern of revving up the nervous system and never downshifting back to regulation, causing more hyper arousal and more sensitivity in the stress response. If you are with someone who is hurting or abusing you, please seek help - it is out there, but sometimes its hard to leave these people because we are trauma bonded to them. Sending you so much love.

Hi, there wasn't enough time to speak to every aspect of recovery, but chronic insomnia was a huge hurdle to overcome in my journey. It had to be addressed almost first, because we cant get well if we cant sleep. What are you doing now to manage insomnia?
@@TheEdisonEffect after one year of sleeping 2-3 hours per night and having panic attacks the rest of the night. I have recently managed to sleep 5-6 per night and cleared the panic. I did the sleep coach school and learned no efforts. Just accept and befriend wakefullness. Signal safety to my brain. However i feel traumatised around sleep. Ive also gone from housebound to gentle walks 40 mins mornings. I have improved at least. Thankyou for asking. I am not on any meds now.
@@briechilli4496 sounds like youre on a great path - if you can get sunlight on your eyes just as the sun is coming up, it can help so much to reset your body too!

hallucinations, trigeminal neuralgia, derealization, air hunger, crushing fatigue, muscle paralysis, stammering and stuttering, brain fog, heart palpitations, POTS, crushing noise light and touch sensitivity, sensation of bugs crawling on my skin, ocular migraines, screen intolerance, vertigo, inability to sleep, tinnitus, terrible PMS, chest heaviness like an elephant was standing on it 24-7, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance.
I did mention some of these in the interview but not all of them. I don’t talk a lot about symptoms to protect listeners. It can be triggering or even traumatizing to listen to someone go on about every thing that’s wrong in their body, and it doesn’t help anything really. And whatever our symptoms, the 4 pillars applies. How our body manifest symptoms doesn’t change the tools we can use to address them.
