    Hello Kevin , first ,great info here, I graduated from lawn trctors to golf carts , The ezgo vid was great , lots of info put to good use! just did a yamaha electric front bushings and rear coil shocks, replaced all the batteries that has a carryall bed as well...awesome! , Im working on a clubcar gas and replaced the front shocks bushing in the A frame etc etc , I decided to get the 3 leaf springs and new shocks..PITA yes fer sure but sucess! After assembly , there really isn't much give back there when I jump up and down on the rear, very stiff , is this the norm , I may put the rear seat assembly on this cart.Thanks

    Hi Kevin! I just tried all these steps and was successful getting the HD springs installed (although one side I struggled getting the shock back on). When I drove it there was a terrible grinding noise from the wheel even if I removed the wheel and accelerated while jacked up. I worked backwards and not until I had reinstalled the single leaf springs on both sides did the noise go away. Any ideas what I could have missed?

    I just picked up a 2003 ezgo work horse 800... I wonder if these springs will fit... it will be used primarily for hauling bricks and such

    why is it stated on some spring manufacturers for carts that once you install the new dual action springs you can eliminate the shock? I see some recommend shock extensions---what is your take on this?
    where are you getting your springs?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  5 років тому

      I'm a RHOX dealer so I buy and install springs from them. I have not needed extensions and I always reinstall the shock. Some springs are sprung in such a way that makes the shock not reach the factory perch so you need to add extensions. I say use extensions if they are needed and always use the shocks.

    Kevin, I have a 2010 Precedent all stock except for rear seat. Which RHOX rear leafs do you recommend ? 4 leaf looks too stiff, 3 leaf duals look weird and wonder if they keep cart high enough off wheels, because fenders hit rear tires with 4 adults on cart.

      I'd go with the dual-action springs. They are stiff but when loaded, it will help keep it from bottoming out.

    Any chance you'll be working on a Club Car ds clutch? I'm trying to figure out how to change out the weights and clean the inside of it.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  6 років тому

      There are no future plans to do so. I have not had good experiences with rebuilding clutches. Even if done correctly, most times there are parts that are not repairable and it ends up being more economical to just replace it.

      That's exactly what I did and I'll just use the old one as a paperweight. Lol
      You've got great videos and a ton of useful info for us DIY's .

    In replacing the rear springs the front bolts on each side are frozen. Nuts come off bolts will not budge. Any suggestions?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  4 роки тому

      Most likely they are rusted and stuck to the bushing spacer. You will need to replace the bushings and spacer. What I do is use an angle grinder, cut between the hanger and spring. Replace the bolt with a grade 8 bolt and lock nut. Be sure to use plenty of anti-seize on the bolt.

    Shock question: I put HD springs on the rear of my 2008 ds, but was unable to get the shock bolted back up because I could not get enough of the stud thru the bracket. It was suggested to me to get shock extenders, but the manufacturer said you can remove the shock altogether when installing HD springs. I find a lot of wheel hop without the shock. Any suggestions?

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  5 років тому +3

      If the shock is not extending far enough to catch the threads, load up the bagwell with some weight so it compresses the springs a little. HD springs have a lot of rebound until they wear in a bit. I've had to put 1 or 2 bags of play sand in the bagwell area to get the springs to compress just enough to get the shock nut started.

    Hi Kevin I have a question please. I have a DS2005, the drivers side sits lower than passengers side. Can I get away with swapping springs and shocks over from the passengers side to balance things up until full replacement.
    With Covid19 in place world wide, parts and the cost of shipping to NZ are expensive and non existent.

      I would just hold off to when you can change everything in one shot. That's a lot of work to go through twice.
