  • Welcome Back to Mehl's Mountain Garage.
In this video I will rebuild a drive clutch for the 98 and up Club Car Golf Cart, well, clean in my case but the procedure is the same. This is a gas golf cart, but I believe the electrics are the same. I have posted links below for the parts you would use if you were replacing everything with new, if you shop around I'm sure you could find better deals
Oh, and I don't know why I keep saying thrust bearing?! Thrust washer is what I meant!
This video was made for a couple DM and comment requests, so I hope this helps! I plan on doing the driven clutch in the future, so stay tuned!

That made my day. Our range cart won't "shift" to a higher speed, and redlines around 2 mph. The centrifugal clutch doesn't move inwards hardly at all. I'm thinking its all the dirt we've been driving through and perhaps it just needs to be blown out so the weights can move. If that's not it, thanks to you, I know what to do next!

Hopefully, a good cleaning will get it working again. If not, I hope. This vid helps! These clutches do need periodic maintenance to stay performing optimally.

I have a 2013 club car. Would mine be clockwise or counterclockwise to remove it.

Sorry for the delay, here is the information I have:
      1984 to late 1996:
Kawasaki engines w/the 2 part transmission/differential rotate Counterclockwise.
      1997 to late 2013:
Kawasaki engines w/Unitized transaxles rotate Clockwise.
      2014 to present:
Subaru engines w/Fuji transaxles rotate Counterclockwise.
      Hope this helps.

Do you have to pull the motor to remove the clutch?

Are you referring to using a 3 bolt puller to remove the outer housing when it won't just pop off like mine did?
