@jellyjamacain In my experience the HD springs aren’t much wider than stock. If there’s enough threads on the leaf springs you can probably resize them. Otherwise a hardware store might be the answer…
You probably don’t need the shocks with the heavy duty springs. I’m not sure about longer ones though. I don’t think I’ve ever put them on with the HD springs.
What would you do for the front end if I have 12” wheels and they slightly rub at max turn? Would the lead springs help eliminate that? I have a 2010 Club Car DS I’m in the middle of remodeling.
@@LukesJohnDeereGarage Would it give me a rough ride or should I just go down to 10” wheels? I’m going to add the leaf springs you recommend in this video for when we have adult passengers riding in the back so the cart doesn’t squat.
@@chrisginoc The lift block alone won't change the ride quality. The HD springs will stiffen the ride in the back a good bit though. But with adults in the back it's almost a must. With the weight of a rear seat plus 3 or four people on the cart, the stock springs don't usually do well.
@LukesJohnDeereGarage I deflated my tires to 10 psi and it helped but still on the fence. I have 23" street tires with 12" wheels. I do have a rear seat but almost never have anyone ride on it so may change them back.
You probably need new shock absorbers too. I had a crazy amount of bounce after replacing the leaf springs to 3xheavy duty. Fixed the issue when the shock absorbers came in.
Thanks for the video! Question...
Does it lift the rear to the point where it would look like its pointing nose down?
It didn’t lift the rear of mine at all. Thanks for watching!
Another question if you don't mind. I have a Club Car DS with 4" lift. Do I need some sort of adapter for u-bolts?@@LukesJohnDeereGarage
Are the U bolts on your lift longer than stock? Are they in good enough condition to be reused?
@@LukesJohnDeereGarage Yes they are longer than the stock u-bolts. They are newer and came with the lift kit for an 04' DS

Hey , put 3 leaf springs on but the shocks don’t fit. What’s a good replacement shock to fit ? Thanks Jim

One of the 1” lift blocks they sell on Amazon for the front leaf spring is exactly what you need.

If the ride is too stiff, will it work if I remove the shortest spring and just use the two long ones?
I’ve never tried modifying them. That may help.
What year cart is this?
It’s an early 90’s Club Car DS. It's been converted to lithium. I believe it's around a 92 model.
@@LukesJohnDeereGarage awesome thanks I figured as much. I just bought the same leaf spring set to go into a 93 DS gas. Very helpful vid.
The process is pretty much the same on a gas cart! The rear end is a little more difficult to move around, but it’s still possible.
I put new heavy duty springs on my cart and now i feel every bump like riding on a log wagon. Probably putting originals back on not sure yet.
They are pretty stiff. For riding alone, I wouldn’t recommend them. With a backseat with two or three people on it though it’s usually necessary.
