Love those huge MD11 cockpit windows !
Biggest in the industry!
And they are coming to X-Plane11
Wow...how old is that old war horse? Even the glass cockpit looks like it was put in 25 years ago! I love the center console with all that peeling paint and those metal throttle controls polished smooth by hundreds of thousands of touches,,,just a beautiful, old wide-bodied powerhouse. Love the DC-10/MD-11. Absolutely love it.
In bad weather, always challenging to land, slow down, and to fly manually. Yet still to me the most visually striking, and most beautiful aircraft ever made.
Eid Mubarak. MD-11F, DC-10. My first favorite jumbo jet. Shukrun.
27:48 The F/O absolutely greased that landing. Landing in Addis all the time at 7700 ft. probably makes other airports seem pretty easy!
Thanks justplanes was amazing ..have a great week love an god bless x
MD-11 looks super nice! I never really liked it before but now I'm starting to get the hype around her! Great video Justplanes and thanks for sharing these clips because they are so insightful to me (And many others) Cheerio
I'm looking forward to this! I'm missing those MD-11
Not a ton of them left and they're all cargo
Excellent as per usual
Cool flight
I love this aircraft!!!!
Nice flight report.
In May 1972, I flew an overnight DC9 "puddle jumper" from DFW, thru Oklahoma City, Wichita, Kansas City, Cedar Rapids and finally ORD. Every time we barely got in the air, it was time to come down again. Hahaha. Because I had been the system designer/analyst for the maintenance provisioning of DC8s & DC9s from 1968-70, I was invited to sit in the cockpit jumpseat & converse with the flight crew. What a treat !!! As in this video, aerial and runway views are amazing. After hi-hjackings and attempted takeovers, the cabin door is now secured and passengers are never allowed on the flight deck. Great memories !!!
Excellent landing
As a MD-11 simulating enthusiast (X-Plane 12), I found this video very entertaining and also instructional.
Excellent takeoff . Have a safe and perfect landing.
JP.......Good Morning! Thanks for sharing Your trip!

Greetings Betsy.

Waiting 🇵🇾
Hello Bruno
WoW
Roomy cockpit. The best
Love ET
Молодцы! красиво снимаете
Is it Cairo runway so bad and bumpy or the MD11 too shaky?
I am waiting from Tamilnadu, India 👍👍
👍 enjoy. This video is nearly 40mins long!
How fast are they taxiing?
Love these old girls
When you say full power take off. Is there other grade of powers for take off?
Laurent Karout High and hot airport.
Yes! Not all takeoffs require full power. Takeoffs with reduced power are called de-rated takeoffs. As Allan said this airport is at high altitude and very hot so the amount of thrust available isn’t as much as if you were to take off from sea level and on a cool day. This is the reason for max thrust as they need to squeeze as much power out of the engine. You will also notice in the briefing at the start of the video the first officer said “packs off”. This is to allow the engines to produce even more thrust as packs take air from the engine to supply the cabin with air conditioning! Hope that helps a little bit!
i love it
Visuell unglaublich viel Potenzial verschenkt...
McDonald Douglass thats old plane
I swear they retired there MD11s in 2015. 🧐
MD-11s will be gone soon.
Boeing and Airbus will replace McDonnell-Douglas aircrafts.
Boeing 747s also will be gone.
Great memories for vintage birds!!!!!
From my understanding Ethiopian don't have MD-11s now. This might be an older video.
🙏🌹❤🇮🇳❤🌹🙏
rough runway
its actually bc the aircraft is old. Ethiopian Airlines no longer have the MD-11. The last one left the airline in 2013
When I saw the pilot I thought tupac shakur is flying the plane. 🥴
