No kidding there my friend! I've been a big fan of Bruce for a long time. I really liked his playing in The Scream as well. I found it crazy when I heard he'd never played slide and the producer said they had to have slide in spots and he just stepped up and figured it out at the studio. He's still a smoking lead and rhythm. I can't believe how clean his leads are here. I hated it when Corabi left and went to Motley Crue, I understand why he did but I still hated it. Grunge was coming on, maybe that had something to do with it. They were getting some major rotation on radio and MTV so I would love to see what album two would have really been like. I'll have to keep an eye out for any clinics coming to Nashville, TN or Evansville, IN. I'm a drummer and singer but still like to go to clinics of players I dig.
@@saltykrug maybe Bruce ends up like Dann Huff the former guitarist of Giant who lives in Nashville and is a producer, mixer and session guitarist. Bruce is too good to be kept down. Even Paul Gilbert commented on how well Bruce can play the blues. Ultimate compliment there.
@@saltykrug Different levels of natural talent and hard work and greatness ya know, just cause Boulliet here could never literally equal Paul Gilbert- who both had freakish genetics with his hand size/length and also had the arguably luck? to not get carpel tunnel and etc- dang sure does not mean Bruce is not still a great in his own right ya know. No shame at all in the career he's had. I'm sure he's very grateful at the end of the day for all he's got to do and proved and the countless hours he to put in to perfect his craft!.
Bruce, you're one of the terrifying monster that never got out & tear everyone's soul. You deserve a spot in one of the legends. What a talented guitar player.
I've always thought that the chord progressions and solos from Heart of a Lion and Moonage Daydream are some of the best things I've ever listened to in all my fucking life. Simply amazing.
Bruce was still doing 'Open Counseling' 2ce a week at G.I.T. the year I went (1989-90) Absolute best year of my life and Bruce was the main reason. So great to see and hear him still playin better than ever!
Man, the more I listen to this medley the more I think it's the best damn guitar instrumental on youtube! Dude, Bruce man, just rippin it. I wish someone would tab this out, this is just plain bad ass. Thank you Bruce, I know this is old but damn dude you tore it up!
Awesome. Great player from such and amazing band as RACER X. Not an inch less virtuoso than his former band mate, Mr. Gilbert, No comparison is needed anyway, but I think is fair to recognize Mr. Bruce's credit for the success of that band.
To play Racer X songs, let alone write them you gotta be a badass player. Thanks for the music Bruce! Always love Racer x, especially the songs that have a feel good vibes to it. You're amazing
he sounds sweet no matter what he plays through! I took lessons from him and he sounds just as badass on a roland cube! It is all about his incredible technique, not what he is playing through!
Bruce Bouillet would sound like Bruce Bouillet no matter the gear that he use. Just Like Eddie Van Halen would sound like Eddie no matter the gear that he use. But the gear is very important, you wont see Bruce or Eddie using a Gorilla Amp to play live or record. You would see both using pro gear that allow them to achieve the sounds they want. The friedman BE-100 it's an amazing dynamic Amp, extremely useful that sounds like heaven, which can sound like on this clip no matter if the volume is set very high or whisper volumes with losing definition or dynamics and no matter how matter the crazy setting that you do it will always sound damn good. When i said "Bruce sounding sweet with a Friedman BE-100" what i meant was that a legendary guitar player like Bruce is playing a amp that was built for a guitar players like him in mind.
mxr2000 I have never played a Friedman just because I've been happy with my Mesa Boogie simulclass 290 I bought in 1991. Personally I prefer rack mount stuff with seperate preamps and poweramps. when it comes down to it as long as an amp has tubes it will have high quality sound in my opinion.
A fanatic myself from mesa stuff since 1982. MB 2:90 a fantastic power amp. my favorite was a 50/50 stereo power amp a bit more 80's mesa Sound, along with a 1989 Quad preamp and a Metal grill 4x12 half back cabinet loaded with 2 EVM on the Bottom and 2 c90 black shadow speakers on top. you got to try someday BE-100 it would blow your mind.
Listened to you guys so much in my early guitar days - bought most of the Shrapnel output too! Not easy when you lived in Scotland :p Still sounds amazing Bruce.
Love it man! Bruce having fun and still kicking total ass!! Thanks the memories and the vid!!!🤘🏻 so stoked that your down has matured over the years, makes it all so palatable 🤓. Little too much treble for me back in the day but still awesome! Words just can't express how awesome this performance was for me!!!! God I love it!!!
Rock On!!! \m/ I was about to say to please leave the crowds reaction to this video, but then I realized that this is Bruces video. I guess it would be kind of egotistical to leave the reaction in your own video. But, if a music video like this is a long one and I don't have time to watch the whole thing I always skip to the end and listen to the crowds reaction. That is one my favorite parts of a pure display of genius like this.
So good to see this stuff being played - and even cooler to see someone playing Bruce's parts rather than Paul's.... though it would be weird if you were playing his! haha
Bruce is incredible! He never got the notoriety that he was due.

@@Shaft-Industries Yeah Bruce is hands down one of my favorite guitarists from any era.

perfect balance between advanced technique, expression, musicality and tone. Great stuff, Bruce.
I agree on that man
Bruce, you're one of the terrifying monster that never got out & tear everyone's soul. You deserve a spot in one of the legends. What a talented guitar player.
This man should be on everyone’s list of among the best metal guitarists around. Flawless technique. Amazing feel.
Agreed ! He gets overshadowed !
This tone is absolutely perfect. Both bridge and neck pickup
Thats my dream tone🤩
Because unlike Paul he doesn't use DiMarzios. He uses a Duncan JB and Minibucker. Also, the Friedman amp sounds pretty darn awesome.
Damn, the dude that kept up with Gilbert. Such a monster. And makes you ask how much of the stuff they did with Racer X was "only" Paul's doing
makes some really difficult lines look so easy
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this. Never gets old.

you deserve way more than 3K subscribers... masterclass for playing from the soul
A legend guitar master in his own right. RacerX were an inspirational band. Thanks for this upload.
I studied with Bruce at GIT 89-90
This performance is legendary, he sounds better than ever, jesus
Hammer away. And heart of a Lion are my favorites.

that tone is near perfect and scit scat wah brought back lots of memories!
YES!!
1:52 that arpeggio speaks to my soul
ALways love me some Bruce B!..Man..all of that RacerX stuff is just mind blowing!

My favorite guitar player in Racer X. Great to see him playing again.
Only 75k views after 8 years? Really people, really? 🙁Clean playing and nice tone!

Hell yeah!! These songs deserve to be played live in front of roaring people still!
Still amazing. Great tone 2

Excellent playing and great tone . That amp sounds great!
Bruce is the man!
Bruce is and always will be the guitar MONSTER of the golden years of Hard Rock
Bruce sounding sweet with a Friedman BE-100..

mxr2000 I found my tone, but if I ever need a backup amp i'd check one out. traditional heads just aren't my thing. Are they a stereo amp?
Awesome Bruce! I love how you sound with that Friedman!
Cool. You really have soul in your playing!
Hi Bruce ...great guittarist
是非、レーサーXでまた共演してもらいたい!やっぱブルースもいなきゃでしょ!

Nice! Always preferred Bruce's playing and tone
Racer X forever! :D
Hell yeah. Fellow hoosier too!
Bruce is a monster player. I grew up playing in a band near him and knew him from his band Mariah. He was a few steps ahead even then. Awesome talent.
Awesome! Still enjoying Bruce's music today! Good solo stuff and don't forget that kick @$$ Scream album! Straight up rocks! \m/
GOOSEBUMPS!!!!

Bruce shredder 🤘🏻
Awesome!!

Amazing guitar heroes...
Excellent!
Spectacular BB!
still amazing master
Get it Bruce! 🙌🏼🤘🏼
probably one of the best guitarists out there.. but always in the shadow of paul, sadly
I've always liked this guy way over gilbert...he´s so natural with the guitar, great flow!
was a gilbert student, the same buckethead, and he never was in his shadow. bruce didn't do a lot of his music.
True...Doesn't get the credit he deserves.
MR BIG sold millions of albums, the bands that Bruce was in after Racer X did not. I think that's probably the biggest difference.
still waiting for you in Argentina!!!
good one mate,enjoyed
Nice!!!!!
So fluidilucious 💋💥💋
Maestro
Sick!
Great stuff
Really exquisite tone
;~)
misterjohn john hey mister John John Lots of pretty cool licks here... I wonder how many are PG’s and how many are BB’s?
