If u dodge into a melee it’s acts as a heavy attack. So when ur in those situations when they’re calling for reinforcements. Just dodge and melee into them.
The reason you are getting maximum contested health without the squad AoE one is because the rejuvenating effect perk that revives allies I believe is bugged and always gives you max C. health after banner. Unlike the AoE version you also start losing that C. health even if you stand in banner range. Without rejuvenating effect you dont get that (unless you have the AoE version) Also I've been duoing with my friend and we play bulwark and vanguard. That class combo is one of the strongest in the game I think because a vanguard team perk refunds the ability cooldown of anyone who executes an enemy, minor enemies and even gun executions count so you can just power style the little guys and spam regain banner even. In turn bulwark just heals everyone while making them practically undamagable because of how armor works. You can even prep executes easily with plasma pistol from range or just parries to heal anyone to full when they take it. We only use stims to remove mortal wound 😅 (unless it gets really wonky) This is hard to use with strangers without comms of course.
I've been a little torn on Power Fist vs Power Sword, I have settled on the power fist since it is way easier to do heavy attacks on it and cancel the calling for reinforcements. Also you can spam heavy attack after heavy attack on the Power Fist, which is nice for stun-locking enemies. It also seems like I take less damage from smaller enemies since the Power Fist attacks have a small explosion. Also the Power Fist dodge/sprint attack is really strong, and a node near the end of its tree increases the damage of that attack and on the highest difficulty you use that attack a lot since you have to dodge so much. At the end of the day, it is totally just preference though.
I just like the idea of being a Boxer. Yes you punch things to death but the shield and the dodges kinda reminds me of a Boxer ducking and weaving into a knockout, lol.
If youre struggling getting the unit calling reenforcements roll or dodge at them and attack it will aways stagger and less likely to get the stance swap.
It may not be a lot, but I prefer to forgo the Tyranid bonus damage perk and fully invest in the top Perk tree to get the additional heals. Since speed stance needs to be used on elites/bosses anyway, it helps knowing my speed stance combos will earn me more health when it's contested.
We should be able to bind a different button for switching the power swords style from fast or heavy instead of it sharing the heavy attack. Easy to do for PC
Another thing too: The Bulwark has a shield and can block, many times when you try to parry you will just sadly end up blocking... In a way, it sucks, but alternative classes that parry too late or too early, at least Bulwark has more opportunities to just negate damage overall.
Yup, one of the many drawbacks of having the same key binded to the key that does another thing. But the trick for Bulwark when parrying is the mastery of timing. Hold block when necessary, and TAP/PRESS to parry. The mixup between block and parry happens because sometimes you're too focused on blocking you kinda just hold the button out of instinct - which is really annoying at times.
@@peach1205 My biggest problem is that it takes me forever to get a Majoris to red... parry has helped me a lot to clear the hordes surrounding me (because of a nifty perk) plus the gunstrike dealing massive damage as is. You can even parry the minoris enemies too, which I've found gets rid quite a few in a cone in front of you, and the rest are pushed back. Ever since I switched to a fencing power sword from the bock, majoris have become less of an issue, and the minoris somehow remained the same.
The best bulwark melee weapon is the one with the highest speed + fencing which is a relic power sword, since your dmg comes from parries and speed stat gives you faster animation which is important since you can't cancel swings. No other melee weapon is even comperable
I feel like I'd like Defensive Mastery more if it was only on Extremis enemies. You perfect parry Majoris all the time so I feel like I'd never have it when I actually need it.
I have played around with this and it does feel that way. The only exception being is if you get an extremis right away in an encounter after you were moving from the previous mob. While it is nice to get that first Majoris down when something like a massive wave hits, I find I also have to go back to getting the other 5+ majoris down before they're ready. It can be nice to stun/damage the mobs of Minoris enemies early, but I find this isn't super useful compared to chain executing a few Majoris in a row. I feel like the first perk, which drops a shock grenade on you when your armor goes away, is just better all around.
I usually think it’s better to use power style on minoris enemies since it has a much large area of effect and knocks them down more often, and switch to quick attacks for elites so I have time to dodge if need be
Is the Chainsword bad compared to power sword? I like the simplicity of the moveset of the chainsword, changing speed and power mode sometimes confuses me in the heat of battle.
It's not bad is comparison, the sword just has a bit more to offer to the build compared to the chainsword, but the chainsword will still work great with the build as long as it has the balance or fencing defense rating
I think one of the perks for bulwark is bugged, the invigorating icon which gives teammates fully contested health when you put down the banner, I don’t have this ability unlocked and yet when I put the banner down, me and my teammates get fully contest health which honestly I feel like should just be a base ability as part of the banner
I have every version of the power sword done but can't get terminus slayer at the end. I followed the upgrade perks exactly.NM I got it. Just reset the perks. Picked one I shouldnt have
Is it bugged then that teammates get contested health with the banner without having Invigorating Icon? I specifically don't use that perk because it seems redundant, I also don't think it means what it seems like. I think it means they gain back their contested health, which doesn't seem particularly useful when you can just throw the banner down on them as they execute and they regain all their health back.
Apparently the perk for reviving allies on banner drop is giving everyone in range full contested health; though, it does begin to fade immediately, isnt refreshed by stepping back into the banner, and has a much shorter activation range than the dedicated perk.
I mean you can use any melee weapon at the end of the day it does come down to personal preference and playstyle but imo the power sword is a lot more versatile than the power fist and has better aoe.
As long as you have fencing on the the defense for the fist, it should work just as well you just won't get that easy to use stagger power like you will with power style from the sword, the fist cant slot into the build just fine if your comfortable with it!
I'm level 22 in three days, it's just about the grind and if you're skilled enough running higher level missions. (I only play on the top 2 difficulties) @@BW199
But mutiple classes can run the first more effectively (assault) the sword is unique aswell as having block frames built into a few attacks allowing you to block+damage at the same time

To: for THE EMPEROR!
We all in the same boat and I love it 😂

If you want to cancel reinforcement calls your best choice is just a charged plasma pistol shot.
Only difference, Fist has Long Aoe Range, Sword has Wide Aoe Range.

I don’t like how the fist takes customization away from your entire right arm
It's fair enough whats nice us both are viable
OH COOL! Happy you are covering this game too!
If youre struggling getting the unit calling reenforcements roll or dodge at them and attack it will aways stagger and less likely to get the stance swap.
A librarian class would be a great counter to zoans.

I am having a lot of fun playing this game but i do find the parrying and dodging annoying and the server issues frustrating…
Even when host it can be a problem, I hope they iron it out soon because it does add fun to the game when you do get to nail them!
Use fencing weapon better parry odds

Double tap the button, it guarantees a parry

Just beat the campaign and now going into these operations, this is very helpful.....give us a one handed battle axe. Lol

It seems like going for power stance on mobs of minoris, then speed stance for elites is the way to go.
Shock and Awe effects all shock dmg, fairly certain on that, including shock grenades. If it doesn't, it is worded poorly.

Yes just be sure to use one with fencing or balance on defense so you can parry!

BROTHERS, RETRIBUTION IS AT HAND !
Is the power fist viable?
You mentioned a Power Sword deep dive video. Is that still on the roadmap?
Still on the way just had some other projects come before it but should be out by sunday night if not monday morning!
can i use warfists instead? im too addicted to it. ( don't tell me "use what u like") should I use warfist over the sword for this build or nah

Question: why sword and not fist?
What are u guys doing to level up fast? Currently at level 5 Bulwark.
Speed running the shortest operations. They skip 70%

Where did you get that style on your bulwark ?
I can use the power sword I don't like the combos. All I use is the chainsword
Not accusing u or anything, just wonder why u prefer power stand over fast one? Is it just personal preference or some game mechanic i dont know?

Speed Style? Power style? WTF?
