I love the cobalt blue shirt with the blue-based red lipstick…very flattering with her gorgeous skin. Thank you for helping so many during the last two years to focus on skin care when we had little control of our world around us. I’ve literally almost eliminated all of my makeup except a sheer foundation because I like the way it looks on my skin, some eyebrow gel, and a tiny bit of blush / lip tint. I’ve streamlined my skin care of the unnecessary steps and added in treatment products like salicylic face wash in my arm pits and so many other tips you’ve given us. You truly are a gem. I love how you educate without putting people down for being mislead by the cosmetic and skin care marketing. Oh, and I’ve eliminated fragrance. That was life changing. I think I had extreme sensitivities to fragrances which are in most everything! I just wanted to take the time to show my appreciation for your life’s work…you have made a difference in my life. ❤️Lyn from North Texas.
I have my annual dermatology checkup and I get about 10 minutes, maybe, with the doctor per year. But I have you for 20 minutes every single day, teaching me so much about the science of skin and skincare, the best products to use, and always, always sunscreen. You perform exceptional public service, being there for us every day. Thank you for your expertise and commitment to us.
I love learning about nutrition and wouldn't have thought I would have learned this much more about C deficiency. What a useful perspective your field has!
That blue looks fabulous on you! Can't thank you enough for your no-nonsense/cut through the cr*p videos, my skin is so improved thanks to helping to repair the skin barrier and switching to more simple, fragrance free products. Really appreciate all you do for us 💕
I’m 66 and take a multivitamin everyday that includes vitamin C, but that’s it. I also take D3 and B12 because of a deficiency as recommended by my pcp. Thank you so much for your thorough and concise explanation of the importance of vit C in our diet and how a deficiency is manifested. And you look so pretty today!
Interesting to hear the connection between Vit C, anemia and that SOB 😭 (shortness of breath). Always thought anemia was due to iron deficiency. Love how you bring clinical information into your content! 💕 Thank you! 🙏
It is due to iron deficiency, vit c helps our body absorb iron especially the one from plants like lentils. Plant based iron is difficult to absorb and requires the help of vitamin c.
Dr Dray educated me on so much! I've been able to curate my own routines & skincare that work best for me. My skin has cleared up sufficiently 💕 I still have a long way to go and my routines/product choices aren't perfect but I can tell such a difference. I look and feel so much better. Thank you Dr Dray 💕💕💕
I was taking a vitamin c / zinc supplement but stopped when I started taking the AG greens, as it has plenty of both. I did stop drinking so much orange juice (sweetening tea with it mixing it with water etc) because I swear it was making me break out. Maybe I’m insane. But this was so helpful and interesting! We are always supplementing folks with protein after procedures in order that they may heal, but so much more is needed. And alcoholics we give banana bags full of vitamin Bs but again so much more is needed! Nutrition is such a neglected topic in light of the fact that most folks coming into the hospital have terrible dietary habits and the only thing we seem to do is add an ensure to the menu. Kills me.
I am homozygous for MTHFR A1298C… Supplementing with methyl folate has been life changing. But I’ve also suspected I’m really vitamin C deficient for a while now. When you said vitamin C and folate deficiencies can be comorbid, a lightbulb went off! Thanks! 😊
Very interesting! I take a multivitamin every day just from habit. My husband, who is in his 70',s has these blood "spots" on his arms. He was told this is normal but now I am wondering about his Vit C level
That blue color is lovely on you, Dr. Dray! I must say, however, that I like you better with a more subtle lip color. Regardless, we like what we like - so you go, girl! Thanks for all you share with us!💕
I’m currently taking Iron, vitamin C, D3+k2 & magnesium.. and a B complex with folate. I didn’t know I could take 1k of Vitamin C 3 times a day, I love that bc I take my iron 3 times a day & Vitamin C is a wonderful cofactor to Iron.
Thank you for this information. I’m always on the borderline of anemia, and I’d been told to take an OTC iron supplement with a glass of orange juice to help with absorption. I love how much healthcare I learn from your videos beyond the skin. I will take more care to get my vitamin C!
I did a blood test and Im low on Vitamin D and C. So lets see what the doc will recommend but time to start eating those veggies/fruits...and take some vitamins to replenish the loss.
I recently started taking vitamin c supplement in conjunction with iron… I have noticed a difference within a week, since I was diagnosed with iron deficiency in January I felt like the additional supplementing stop working by march and my symptoms came back. I now take 500 mg of vitamin c & I’m starting to feel like myself again.
I love the turtleneck. I take a multivitamin, and since COVID began I added supplements for vitamins C, D, and K2 plus zinc. I am very cognizant of the placebo effect. However, living with family members who had COVID but I regularly tested negative, I hope boosting my vitamin intake played a part in keeping me negative. At this point, I feel we are all part of one big experiment without the randomly assigned control.
I am pretty sure I actually had this. I didn't even consider in this day and age, but I have IBS, I often do intermittent fasting and due to gut issues I mostly eat cooked food. Focussing on my vitamin c intake now.
These deep jeweltoned colors are soooooooooo flattering on you. The blue top is so pretty against your complexion and hair color. Such a good combo with the lipcolour as well. ..😍😍
I do take a daily vitamin c supplement via emergen-c immunity boost and have for several years now. I do think it has helped as far lessening if not helping prevent common colds.
I’m pregnant and vegetarian, so at risk for low iron. I’ve always had healthy iron levels but on the low end of the healthy range. So my care providers have had me take Palafer (100mg elemental iron) during my pregnancies. I take Vit C with the iron pills. They’re supposed to absorb better if taken with orange juice, but you also have to take the iron at bed time. I’m advised by my dentist not to eat / drink for 30m before I brush my teeth, because eating and drinking, esp orange juice, increases acid related erosion esp before using toothpaste which is already abrasive. So I just take the vit C pill. 🤷♀️ hope it helps! It did last pregnancy, my iron levels went up during pregnancy (whereas most pregnant people’s go down because of the increased blood volume)
Great video. Be keen to know about your thoughts on the work of Dr Linus Pauling. Just slightly at a tangent to your view about dose levels and Absorption mg/kg/day. Currently taking 5 Grammes as per Paulings teachings and all signs are good to date! Keep up the great work S xx
Omg! I get bluish marks on my skin when I bump into something ever so slightly that I don't even notice or have any pain at all. Those blue marks are tender to touch and last for a few days! I have also ignored it. Is that vitamin c deficiency? Btw this vdo needs a super like button
I take a vitamin c supplement. I was diagnosed with low b12 and so I take sublingual b12, a prenatal vitamin and a vitamin for hair, nails and skin. When I added the hair, nails and skin vitamin I felt my energy increase within a week. I am 61. My primary doc wanted me on prenatal vitamin because it has more iron.
You look amazing in the blue sweater. I really appreciate the nutrition and vitamin info and your explanations because our doctors usually don't have time to discuss it in detail.
What do you do if you can’t have citrus fruits or a vitamin c supplement because of the ascorbic acid irritating your stomach? I have a vitamin C deficiency since March and I was supplementing with high dose vitamin C and it caused so many issues with my gut that I had to stop and go on a FODMAP diet due to getting SIBO.
Recently started having more citrus and supplementing with vit c and I’ve noticed that I’m not as lethargic, so yes it does help. Dr. Dray this video was very informative and helpful, also, how stunning do you look here, omg wow 😍
Dr Dray! You look good without makeup with your flawless skin, but today that bluish purple color looks absolutely beautiful on you & lipstick! Take care!
Yay! Thank you for covering nutritional subjects! --- Been treating anemia since summer, but now up 20pts from taking iron supplements. Need to drink vitamin C with it every day though. I'm sure I can double those numbers in 120 days.
Happy Wednesday Dr. Dray and everyone! I do take a multivitamin every day. But also a vitamin C in winter. Chicago can get super cold at times. Enjoy your day! 😀
Thanks for sharing! I took vitamin c with iron tablets to reduce my period mainly after my heavy flow days and surprisingly it ended naturally with the helped of dark chocolate, some light exercise and more balanced diet.
Vitamin C in the morning 1000mg. That’s enough with the fruit and veggies I eat but I definitely do not think less is better based on my experience. Too much with zinc definitely creates a copper deficiency and has given me a uti. I also think it helps with flexibility. It also helps my skin look better Thank you for all of these videos. Calcium?
I was beginning to get scurvy once when I was eating nothing but noodles. I was tired all the time and my gums would bleed easily. When I told my mom (who is a general practice doctor) she rolled her eyes and told me to eat oranges 🤣
10 days ago, I was in the gym for over 4 hours...killing it! You can say I'm a gym rat. Today, my mouth started getting dry and my energy wasn't as high as usual. Between sets, I looked up xerostomia (dry mouth) vs. ATP (Energy). I learned that the salivary glands are greatly affected by ATP and Vitamin C. I was an epiphany! For the last week, I had been suffering from tendonitis of the left elbow, feeling nervous and this morning a literally trimmed a couple cork screw hairs from my head! I had been supplementing Vitamin C for the weeks before, but had run out. My high energy demands must have run through my stores very quickly.
Love the blue shirt with the blue-based red lipstick. Thanks for all the great info you share on your channel Dr.Dray. God bless you and pray 2022 will be a healthy and happy one for you.
I’ve read that ascorbic acid isn’t bioavailable, meaning our bodies cannot absorb it. It says that vitamin C coming from Acerola is much better. What are your thoughts on that?
Taking a supplement of vitamin C can have the same impact in my face skin in terms of building collagen as the vitamin c serum? I have problems incorporating vitamin C serum in my skin routine
Thank you Dr. Dray for the info. I appreciate your candor. How often would you recommend skin checks? I am at the age where I am getting weird patches on my back. Thanks for you! Happy New Year! Oh I eat at least a quarter orange every day.
You mentioned at 9:45 that about 4 weeks for the hairs to straighten out, but longer for perifollicular hemorrhages and other symptoms to resolve. About how long have you seen for other "lighter" symptoms to resolve (ex: dry skin, perifollicular hemorrages)? And are there other methods for faster repair besides more fruits, vegetables, multivitamins and Vitamin C supplements? (I'm guessing collagen peptides will help as well.)
I supplement all vitamins regardless of what I eat. Being a nicotene user means absorbing less because of the constricting of the blood vessels. If you can't quit right away, it's good to know you need to take extra vitamin C.
Dr. Dray, First and foremost I hope your Mom is doing well! You look great! Thank you so much for this video. I would love to see more of these videos on supplements. This was so helpful!
Looking great in blue shirt and red lipstick Dr Dray! Thank you for all your tips, I've been taking all your advises and my skin has been so good, so grateful to have you.. Looking forward for more videos, have a blessed a new year! ♥♥♥
Hey Doc, can you do a review on the Beyou Brand from Target? I saw it on IG and believe it's a new skincare line by them. Thanks in advance. Love your channel.
Thank you so much for your expertise! Can you have any of these deficiencies with only one of the aforementioned signs, or is it likely that you’d have multiple signs if you had a deficiency?

I just wish she would use some concealer around her mouth to get a crisper lip line with her lipstick because thats all I can focus on
@@ye23. perhaps you should watch someone else if all you can focus on is Dr. Dray’s lip line?

Great video! I appreciate you explaining things to your audience. It’s empowering for the non medical community.

Hello Dr. Dray
Which one is the best vit c out there?
I start breaking out in acne when not taking 6,000 mg of Vitamin C! Tried cutting back and after a couple weeks the acne returned.
Dr Dray! You look good without makeup with your flawless skin, but today that bluish purple color looks absolutely beautiful on you & lipstick! Take care!
Thanks!
You're welcome!
I have to tell you I love the lipstick paired with the blue shirt! Really looks gorgeous on you. Have a Happy New Year
How do I get vitamin c if my stomach can’t process veggies?
My goodness, Dr. Dray!!! You never cease to amaze me! Another wonderful & informative video. So fabulous that I watched it twice 💞👑

Are all vitamin c supplements created equally? Are their more effective ones than others?

Hey doc I am exhibiting vit C deficency, slow wound healing, spots in the skin, and gum inflamation along with poor speeling!
Yes, I take it & do believe it works.
Thank you for your videos and teaching !
Can you speak on vit c needs for people with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome please?

Hi,Dr Dray can you please also suggest a good multivitamin for women that are vegan friendly.
Interesting video.
Did not know about Vitamin C/Folate connection. Thank you!
I do take a vit c... since the start of the pandemic as literature I was reading recommended it
I supplement all vitamins regardless of what I eat. Being a nicotene user means absorbing less because of the constricting of the blood vessels. If you can't quit right away, it's good to know you need to take extra vitamin C.

Thanks for watching
Love the colors
Thank you so much
Dr. Dray, First and foremost I hope
your Mom is doing well! You look great! Thank you so much for this video. I would love to see more of these videos on supplements. This was so helpful!
Wow this explains why I got so many white hairs after go plant based, since then I always had low b12 even though I supplement, this can be reverse?
Looking great in blue shirt and red lipstick Dr Dray! Thank you for all your tips, I've been taking all your advises and my skin has been so good, so grateful to have you.. Looking forward for more videos, have a blessed a new year! ♥♥♥

Is there any brand of vitamin c that you recommend?
Thanks for this video!
I get most of my vit C from daily consumption of fruits & veg and also take a supplement
Happy Wednesday dr Dray! I ordered that avene sunscreen you use I’m excited to get it! I’m from Fort Worth so it’ll take a while :/
Let me know how you like it
@@DrDrayzday I definitely will I’m excited for it to get here! Thank you for the recommendation and your content ❤️
Since collagen is in our blood vessels can Sculptra cause issues with them?
What is the best vitC to take?
Thank you for another great video, Dr. Dray! We all appreciate you so much. Love the lips today! 💗
Thank you for the very informative video. I have a request, would you please talk to us about heat protectors for hair, do they really work. 💜
Great info Dr. Is it possible to have a vitamin C deficiency while having normal iron levels on a blood test?
I think so.
You look lovely! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Happy New Year 🥳
Thanks, this has been really helpful
Happy Wednesday Dr Dray!
Happy Wednesday
Interesting. Thank you for this video I had no clue we didn’t make it
Thanks for the info 😊

Thank you so much for your expertise! Can you have any of these deficiencies with only one of the aforementioned signs, or is it likely that you’d have multiple signs if you had a deficiency?
Very interesting! I’ve only seen the spotty red around that abdo post AAA rupture in ED
Thank you for sharing this info! I have been taking Emergen-C fairly regularly through this pandemic along with zinc, D3 and K2. I took the Pfizer vaccine and booster as well. Along with other common sense precautions, I am blessed to have escaped Covid and experienced good health and great skin. Listening to Dr. Dray is incredibly beneficial.
You're lucky you have not died of a blood clots post vaccine like 2 of our healthy friends have, and thousands of others.
I eat kiwi and orange just about every day, or drink a glass of juice. Sometimes cranberry juice. I want to know how many milligrams. I like to how much zinc. Please let me know.
Loving your makeup lately. You look so elegant!
I eat 2 oranges a day. Is that enough?
