Nobody has put one through it's paces?!?! Uhhh... NOPE. Shonky (Aussie) has taken one across the Simpson desert unsupported AND raced against all comers in a gen-u-ine rally race (came in 2nd in his class, with a broken shoulder btw). He routinely rides trails that you could only classify as "gnarly". If anyone has shown what the CRF300 is capable of, it's him. Admittedly it's highly modified, but it's still a cheap little 300. And of course, there's Itchy Boots. Also beats the crap out of her bike, and is definitely not scared to take it where few dare to tread. And she rides pretty hard, considering it's her only transportation thousands of miles from home. Still going strong through west Africa, after completing South and North America (mostly on dirt). I appreciate what you guys are doing, but give people their due. My 2 cents.
Honda could improve the suspension and throw in another 100 ccs for added horsepower (not to the 450 level, I am talking proportionally to the current engine, say 33% more displacement = 33% more horsepower at the rear wheel and in this case it would be from 24 to 32 hp) and I would be willing to pay an extra $1,500. It would make things better both on the Highway and the trail...This would be THE PERFECT DO IT ALL BIKE....PERIOD!
Honda rarely seems to listen to what people want. A CRF400L with decent suspension would be a big seller. Maybe Yamaha will step up to the plate with a WR400r I still can’t believe they discontinued the WR250R?
RallyRaid/K-Tech and many others on the suspension part. Long time mx rider here but a GREAT bike got one order as well. Going to buy the RallyRaid cartridge fork kit and rear shock.
Cheers. Had a CRF300L and changed it for a KTM 390Adv. I now wanna go back and get myself a CRF300L again, because the KTM is just no fun off-road...will miss the power advantage of it on tarmac though. So I gotta get a second bike. Maybe a Triumph Tiger 660.
Just watch the heat exhaustion lifting these little red piggies out of bad situations. Can't complain in their versatility though and that extra weight helps on the street.

Imagine a crf500l with same motor as cbr500r!? That would be a sick bike! I know it’s not a thumper but you would still get that reliability

Did honda not do improvements for the 22 ( a couple more HP, stiffer suspension) ?
Not a thing for the 22, but they did offer an additional color scheme for 2023, however there aren't any mechanical differences for the 23 either
