“This song is from Tik Tok” 🤦🏻♂️
It’s not from tik tok but I heard it on TikTok. 🤦🏼♀️
I mean i hate the fact that people uses this song on tiktok but i mean hey at least they found out about nirvana
it’s the lack of culture for me
@@waynekayla814 Didn't you know Nirvana before?
@@mishalitvinyk4982 did you not know who sticky fingers is? No cause it’s not your genre
“70s or 80s”
Holy shit how young are these children
too young to be speaking on music that paved the way for the garbage that they listen to currently
@@larajones8149 Im pretty young but ik that this song and band is legendary.
@@just_kai000 Yeah, there's plenty of kids who understand the history and importance of bands like Nirvana, you only have to read the comments on one of their videos to see that. You are obviously one of them, but these two reacting? Not so much😐.
Haha
@@just_kai000 dude I was born in 1986
TikTok! Oh my God. This came out before touch screen phones. It's not Old. It's timeless! RIP our beloved Kurt. 🖤
The “A” means anarchy and the word “Chaka” on the drums means fire…the song came out in 1991…the basically describing the angst of being a teenager…
Not just that but teenagers not represented by the school. Not many who like this music played the normal sports. It was skateboarders, surfers, others who didn't feel like the school represented them.
A is horrrrrr
A is asshole..
Or other word is 'freesex'
Chaka is from the 80s singer Chaka Khan.
Actually, ‘chaka’ comes from and is a reference to a notorious graffiti artist of LA at the time named Daniel (Chaka) Ramos who tagged the word ‘CHAKA’ around LA at least 10,000 times according to authorities. Dave Grohl supposedly saw the tag and decided to put it on his bass drum as a tribute.
Song came out in 1991 it was about Supposedly, the name came from graffiti Kathleen Hanna of the band Bikini Kill once wrote on the wall of lead singer Kurt Cobain's hotel room. She wrote “Kurt smells like Teen Spirit” in reference to a deodorant brand that Cobain's girlfriend at the time wore. and amazing reaction
It’s hard for people today to grasp how big of a seismic shift occurred in popular music when this came out in 91. It knocked Michael Jackson off of the billboard #1 slot. It was basically the rest of the world catching on to what had been going on in the 80’s underground with bands like the Pixies, Sonic Youth and dinosaur jr. It felt like “finally the underdogs won!” It felt like there was some authenticity in music. It was a wonderful time! But then, once tons of money and fame got involved and....Kurt couldn’t take it. 😔
It is the most streamed song of 90s. Nirvana's music has stood the test of time
This is such an iconic song. The 90's was such a vibe!!! Nirvana lives forever!
"These two have no idea what they are watching and listening to."
- All of Generation X
I always drive my car with Nirvana at max Volume, so kids can discover them!
It can't be stressed how much this song changed the face of music. Drastically. Overnight, this song made certain band obsolete and altered the course of how music was played and what kind of music would become popular. Without this song, bands like Linkin Park, Cold, Coldplay, etc would not exist.
Color Me Badd, Keith Sweat and Boys II Men were polluting the airwaves, then Nirvana put the hammer down.
3:12 She gets it. I feel grateful when younger folks understand what I understood way back in those days. 💖👊🏽💥
Yeah, you can see it, right there....
Yes
"everyone in this is old af now" Dave grohl like whattt
“They dragged that shit out”
what is this little girl smoking.
@@fredtello Hands down yes. Not really a reaction video. It was more like watching them watching nirvana with dead eyes, almost no commentary, or enthusiasm.
@@guthrie1181 no need for that, don't hate educate...
@@thedeewolf You’re saying I should give them suggestions rather than criticize?
And the funny thing is this isnt the 5 min version lol, it's the shorter version with a shorter intro/solo haha lmao
@@jamesvancamwe should suggest them to react to Shine On You Crazy Diamond just to bore the shit out of them.
This iconic band/song/album changed music forever when they burst onto the scene in the 1990's. They created a new genre and a new music era.
My soul died a little when the "claim to fame" for this song in her mind was: "It's on tiktok"....
when she said "this song is on tiktok" i literally facepalm
🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
I feel stupid and...
Jesus do you two have a pulse? This song is awesome. 😂
Yeah nirvana is legendary.
The last real rock n roll hero's
I agree, they were heroes in my book.
The 90s was a great great time for music
You guys do know Nirvana was a thing in like the early 2000s
2000's?? bro kurt Cobain killed himself in 1994
Did you really just say 70s man?!? What planet are yall living on..! Holy mackerel
Sad. 😣
Holy mackerel where can I get some? Is that the fish that Jesus cooks?
@@waynekayla814 at least you r listening to this song, todays music is pure garbage especially rap music
@@johnnycarter2283 rap music is complete trash
@@waynekayla814 I bet the odds are you guys still need to have your high school education or GED
Man, their drummer looks a lot like the singer for the Foo Fighters!
🤣🤣🤣
Bruh
Yes he is
He was the drummer of Nirvana
@@elib8243 he knows it's the joke, rofl.
I met Nirvana when I was 13 years old in London (1990) Kurt said “hey kid” I froze like a deer in the headlights.
I know you guys got a little dragged from what I see the comments but i can honestly appreciate your reaction to this because its genuine. Doesn’t matter if you heard it from tik tok or not, you experienced one of the greatest bands of all time with one of the great musicians of all time (kurt) who made one of the greatest most important songs of all time.
what reaction? there was none
@@j.alexander4948. . . actually, that is top, dead, center. . . {-.-}
This song was released in the early 90s
It’s still hard to believe Dave went from playing drums for Nirvana to being the lead singer of the Foo Fighters. Great reaction guys.
70's or 80s? Dude, this song came out in 91.
Coolest tiktok song from the 70's and 80's.
And remember what Superman said, with great power, comes great responsibility.
Does anybody care to hear the truth about this review?
Clearly the girl liked it, and probably more than just the music in that you can see her biting her lip and playing with her hair as she did with Whole Lotta Love (the only other video reaction I've seen them do). Her boyfriend then picked up on this and started taking indirect shots like pointing out how old these guys are now over and over (see Whole Lotta Love reaction). The girl then picks up on her boyfriend starting to get jealous during this video and so tones down her reaction at the end. When they reviewed Whole Lotta Love, she hadn't yet figured this out.
Young people don't realize that older people have already been through all that and know exactly what's going on.
Ah the 90’s, when you could turn on the radio and still hear songs written by the artist who also played their own instruments.
"I heard it on tik tok"
Kurt woouldn't be proud of that I think 😂
F no he wouldn't
A is for Anarchy...that red A is the logo of the Anarchy
Van Halen defined what would be the 80's and Nirvana the 90's. This song changed the game. And remember when Pearl Jam played SNL? Of all of it, Cobain and Cornell could write! So much talent! All music of the last century if you break it down....!!
"back then they didn't use green screens" yeah they did bro, they just didn't wanna do it the easy way.
"This is on tiktok."
No wonder Kurt Cobain killed himself. Jesus Christ. It's not like this is the single most important song to the history of music since the Beatles or anything...
I mean Nirvana did get close to their status, I wonder what John Lennon would've thought of them. I do know Kurt was a huge fan of theirs..
Bro times move on Beethoven was once the kurt Cobain of an era but the new generation live in a different world than gen x did. They have some good music but its all underground on soundcloud and its just different because the world is different.
@@lmn6440 and your point is?? so because the world is different and they're a different generation (no shit btw) that excuses them from being completely clueless to musical history and music in general while doing a music reaction??? nah bro
I mean who the fuck has never heard this song before...
This song defined a generation. Especially the line “Oh well, whatever, nevermind”
This is music. Kurt, nirvana changed music in just this one song
The Nineties the lead singer is the late Kurt Colbaine Nirvana was from Seattle a lot of bands came out during this period
Cobain
I remember buying the cd in the store
Rip Kurt I hope you never hurt
You should take a listen to Alice In Chains: Man In the Box, Would?!, Rooster, Rain When I Die, Them Bones, and many more by this grunge band in the 90s.
Yeah! hehe.I'd love to know what retards fail to think about that!
Whether you like this song or not, you need to have some respect for it. This song literally ended one genre of music and affected an entire generation.
"A" = Anarchy
This song is one of the best of all time to me. Many people probably don't know but in wrestling the wcw days Diamond Dallas Page wrestling song was this intramental version.
Our kids are doomed sad times indeed
Sigh*...
ITS THE EARLY NINETIES!!!! This song changed the sound of rock OVERNIGHT!!!! Look it up. This song is history and birthed the genre called GRUNGE.
The blonde one (Kurt Cobain) is the most influential artist ever the unplugged album is one of the most sad things when you realize 5 months later he killed him self
I died when she said this is on tik tok
The red letter A was based off a book right? The scarlet letter
Not everyone in the video is "old as fuck right now" sadly... Rip Kurt.
The drummer is actually Dave grohl from The Foo fighters.
React to Nirvana - Polly
This song came out in 1991 and changed the direction of music forever. EVERYONE bought this album at the time. It was selling 300K a week by early 1992 and knocked Michael Jackson off the top of the charts. Suddenly all of these bands from Seattle started blowing up - the genre was called Grunge. In 1994 the lead singer of this band, Kurt Cobain, either blew his head off with a shotgun or was murdered by a hit man hired by his wife. The truth is not certain. There are tons of books and movies about Nirvana, Kurt, their music, and his death.
Anyway, here's some Grunge 101 you should react to:
Nirvana - Lithium
Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night
Pearl Jam - Evenflow
Pearl Jam - Alive
Soundgarden - Outshined
Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Alice in Chains - Them Bones
Alice in Chains - Would?
Alice in Chains - Man in the Box
His head was not "blown off".
Smells like Teen Spirit was an advertising slogan for deodorant in the 80s/90s. The A is the universal symbol of the Anarchist movement.
To me this song was about teenagers that felt out of place in school or that school didn't represent them. Most of the school activities including sports never tapped into the kids that don't play the normal sports. Skateboarders, surfers, or anyone else that didn't fit the typical student are all in those stands in this music video.
This song literally change music forever.
ua-cam.com/video/wNI6N06fvk8/v-deo.html
ps the "A" is the Anarchy symbol.
The song band and the man that changed a generation, and pop culture alike. My all time fav
He said 70s 80s wth! Tik tok! Wow!
man I thought the same thing ... wtf. bro was two decades off. this generation is garbage
Good songs don't age. They are forever.
From tiktok???? Its a masterpeace you gdgshddhdhdhjjdhhhdhdhd!!!!
React to Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana; and Come as You Are, also by Nirvana
song was released 90-91
august 27th 1991 it was released on the radio i wish we can go back to the 90s
I see two stones making some noise with their mouths
🤣🤦♂️
Следил за шаловливым пальчиком весь выпуск.
Ya'll should react to the Stanky Leg.
I like da beat.😁
I hate when people thinks that you should know band like they did, these guys probably weren't even born, and if you think about it, how many bands did you get to know their sound through videogames and movies, knowing something through tik tok is not a bad thing is just their platform today. So never disrespect or say someone has no culture over this type of crap.
“What’s the A mean?” 😂 🤦♀️
Straiggt up passion
This song is THE SHIT. 🤘😁🤘
you guys have got to check out Weird Al Yankovic "Smells like Nirvana" :)
love that one
You can watch this video and see the disconnect between them. They were together cause of attraction but have 0 in common
Saying you don't know who Nirvana is the equivalent of saying you don't know the Beatles or MJ!
I heard you ask what the letter "A" mean. There is deep meaning in the cheerleaders wearing that letter. It seems they don't cover the book 'Scarlett Letter' anymore in school so I will briefly explain. The Letter A in red encircled in red was a mark of shame the Mormon based governments made women wear (women only) if they were caught in and adulterous affair. The irony is that in the book the woman was having an affair with a preacher. The symbolism in the video is the girls taking something negative placed on women and using it to express there freedom (in this case sexual freedom). It's not a rally cry to a particular sexuality, but the freedom of love itself; which was a 70s movement. they are celebrating the freedom of their bodies basically. There is a lot more symbolism in this video that doesn't translate to today's society because of how education is taught in school.
Its the symbol for anarchy but I've never heard the Mormon story
You guys have to listen to stuff on headphones. Good headphones. Not EarPods. It takes the music to a whole other level
Yall should do a reaction to smells like Nirvana by weird al, its hilarious
Circle "A" = Anarchy
He wrote the song after he had to use his girlfriends deodorant when his friends came in his girlfriend said oh it smells Iike teen spirit that was the name of the deodorant
React to nirvana- lithium mtv awards 1992

The symbol A is for Anarchy
We will never forget you kurt..........
The "A" is for anarchy. I didn't scroll all the way down. If someone already answered it.
Esta canción es mi favorita. R.I.P. Kurt.

Seriously... "from tiktok" ?! Kids...
Ok... hold on... HOW the hell you don't know Nirvana or AT LEAST this song ???? Even my 6 years old nephew know this one !
R.I.P. Kurt Cobain!
Damn scrubs... at that time we all knew the music of the past but this generation is like they never knew what happened in the past
Nice
The guy reacting to this was clearly tired , yawning a few times . That's not ever gonna be a good video for people to watch . Better to stop and do it when you're all there mentally .
sleep ain't gonna help these two. you put it much nicer than me tho 🤣🤣
You think this is something react to bad touch by the blood hound gaing, scat by the scat man, pretty fly for a white guy by the off spring, and finally I'm to sexy by right side fried. Good luck with all of it. And B-52, clam back and the love shack.
"A" = "Anarchy"
This is on tik omg
"It's on Tiktok". Yeah, thats what this song is all about...
When a song comes out in 1991 and all they think about is the social media app, lol.
@@jamesvancam I think the comment mean tik tok is about today's teen spirit OR that the song was originally about people who didn't fit the boxes... The "on Tik Tok comment" is perhaps the irony of the song still appealing to those who seek today's popularity in the form of social media fame... Or I could be getting way too deep 🤣
"This was on tiktok", I wish I didn't open youtube today
Ya, we're screwed.
Early 90s , legend band 🙄
Thsi song came out in 1993 one year before the lead singer die
