Hahahah THANK YOU FOR NOTICING. People better not be adding in that extra 8th note!! Don't square that phrase off y'all!! I actually wrote it as switching off between 4/4 and 7/8 - still 15 8th notes in total, just a lot easier to read on the page than a bar of 15/16 hah. Anyway awesome video and thoughtful listening analysis! Thank you so much for making this video!! Long live video game music! - Charlie the bandleader/arranger. PS Shout out to the amazing drummer on our cover the one and only Bryan Carter
Also that little counterpoint brass fanfare at the very end there is a very short quote of David Foster's opening to his Winter Games theme which I put in as a little tribute since I used to play bass in his touring band for a couple tour legs around the time when I arranged this so it was on my brain
Please Tony, if you are willing to watch more of 8 Bit Big Band amazing renditions, give a chance to their performance of Snake Eater. I think it's right up your alley!
I absolutely adore 8-Bit Big Band's rendition of Aquatic Ambiance. It's almost a perfect tune by itself, but their cover absolutely delivers! Highly recommend it!
Finally! Someone else who promotes "Lonely Rolling Star"! That was the first piece I ever heard from the 8BBB, and I've been hooked ever since. You know music is good when you get nostalgic over something you've never heard before.
What a great arrangement! Those old game tracks are wonderful but given that they are designed to loop, they can be lacking a satisfying structure. But these guys nailed it.
If you're a benny goodman fan you'd love their Sing Sing Sing inspired arrangement of the Luigi's Mansion theme. One off the most incredible clarinet solos I've ever heard. I'd serieously recommend checking it out!
Did you know they made a remake of the NES game a few years back? They redid the music, too, including a new arrangement of the original DuckTales tv show theme!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE 8 BIT BIG BAND! I listen to Meta Knights Revenge, Snake Eater and Luigi's Mansion like at least once a week. Would LOVE to see you react to more by them
Like for real, Meta Knights Revenge is such a meaty, complex piece, that they won that Grammy was NO mistake. Luigi's Mansion I feel is underrated, and has some of the most INSANE clarinet playing I've ever heard. Tiffany Mann's vocals in Snake Eater are so freaking good, 8BBB never misses but those three are my favs
Absolutely love 8 bit Big Band, all the music they have making these past few years has been amazing. In terms of videogame music arrangements they are at the top. Can't wait for more reactions to these, and more, keep it up Tony ^^
I’m not sure if you have already, but I recommend checking out the cover of Lifelight from Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Charlie also arranged it as a community project during the beginning of the pandemic. I had the pleasure of playing bass clarinet on it too! 😊
Love this ❤️ You should react to some of the popular and really good Jujutsu kaisen OSTs -- Self embodiment of perfection Remember Life Your battle is my battle Blood Gray eyes Be prepared Hollow purple Jujutsu Koshien Greatest strength King gnu (band name) has two really good songs in the jjk movie - 'ichizu' and 'sakayume' Would love to see your reaction
8-Bit Big Band did an excellent arrangement for Meta Knight's Revenge! Excluding that, I'd love to see you react to some Xenoblade Chronicles music! "Torna - Battle!!" from Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna the Golden Country in particular is one I think you'd especially like.
Definitely would like to see you react to more of the 8 bit big band. Their covers of the portal series' Still Alive and Want you gone are definitely my favourite pieces of theirs, i 100% recommend.
It would be interesting to hear you analyze the Gen 4 my little pony songs written by Daniel Ingram. He likes to make the music very deep for the musician fans of the show.
I highly suggest J-Music Ensemble for some more jpop jazz and video game jazz. They've got some really great arrangements and awesome musicians. In particular, I'd suggest their cover of Polyrhythm by Perfume. It's a pop song that features a 3/4/5 polyrhythm. It's absolutely something you'd enjoy.
Hey the UA-cam algorithm paid off and found your channel. Definitely check out some more 8 bit big band for sure. Their rendition of Lonely Rolling Star is simply amazing. The best. Go check it out
If you are familiar with the Portal games then you should definitely check out their portal covers, they are amazing. They also have some music from the legend of Zelda, I would recommend listening to Gerudo Valley
1:57 Dissonating bass note is neccessary here, but it is skipped in almost every cover... it's a pity for a jazz cover of the 8 bit big band, who added cool harmonies with clear understanding what they do and they skipped those bass note...

Also also shout out to Jimmy O'Connell for playing that amazingly sensitive french horn-esq trombone solo melody
GREAT WRITING!! 🤟🔥🤯 I need to do more of your group
Are you the bassist in this video?
@@DrumRollTonyReacts yep, that's him! Charlie Rosen, leader of The 8-Bit Big Band!
The 8-Bit Big Band!? Yes! Fully deserved their Grammy W on their arrangement of “Meta Knight’s Revenge”.
Hey IDK if you see this notif, Tony. But this Bot on this comment, feel free to abuse your video uploader power and whack its comment from existence.
Nevermind?
Thanks for listening!!! Trombone player from the video checking in! It’s all arranged and orchestrated by the bass player Charlie Rosen!

I absolutely adore 8-Bit Big Band's rendition of Aquatic Ambiance. It's almost a perfect tune by itself, but their cover absolutely delivers! Highly recommend it!

The 2017 cartoon incorporated this song beautifully
Yeah, especially how it is intertwined in the main story arc.
“Lonely rolling star” and “Fields of hope and dreams” are my favorite covers from 8 bit band
Finally! Someone else who promotes "Lonely Rolling Star"! That was the first piece I ever heard from the 8BBB, and I've been hooked ever since. You know music is good when you get nostalgic over something you've never heard before.
8bit big band viewcount is criminally low for how incredible their arrangements are.
That's always the case for top notch music
Please! Please do more of the 8-Bit Bigband! They are so good!
⏩ Video Question: Which NES game do you miss playing the most???
For live content catch me on Twitch. www.twitch.tv/drumrolltony
I don't miss it, because I play it from time to time, but my favorite is Mega Man 2. Also the best OST beside Ducktales!
8 Bit Big Band drops nothing but bangers!
At first I thought the title said Bit Brigade and I was super excited. Still excited, but few seem to know Bit Brigade
Rosalina in the Observatory! Absolutely beautiful piece and arrangement!
I agree!!! Such a gorgeous arrangement! Love the 8 Bit Big Band! ❤
This and Gusty Garden Galaxy from Mario Galaxy are cathartic, single tear rolling down your cheek pieces of music.
I actually never noticed the cowbell!!! Excited to hear it now
This was absolutely amazing Tony, you should take a look a the 8-bit Big Band version of the Bob-omb Battlefield, super funky
What a great arrangement! Those old game tracks are wonderful but given that they are designed to loop, they can be lacking a satisfying structure. But these guys nailed it.
this song is so nostalgic to me, NES was my first console as well. these guys nailed it 👍

Bit late for this but if you didn't know the Moon theme has lyrics from the boys's mum in the show. It's a great reveal and really fitting words.
THIS is how Video Games should sound like !!!!
When I first heard the Moontheme in the game I was blown away.
Absolutely love 8 bit Big Band, all the music they have making these past few years has been amazing. In terms of videogame music arrangements they are at the top. Can't wait for more reactions to these, and more, keep it up Tony ^^
Straight up fire. I got chiils ! Loved your reaction. I got very nostalgic myself. Fantastic arrangement!
If you love this song, I recommend looking up "Harden the Duck Up!" from OCRemix. Yeah, it's remix of this song, but a fantastic one.
I’m not sure if you have already, but I recommend checking out the cover of Lifelight from Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Charlie also arranged it as a community project during the beginning of the pandemic. I had the pleasure of playing bass clarinet on it too! 😊
