I think the thing people forget sometimes is how talented Matt and Trey are at music
Their first movie was a musical, they've recorded an album, they made a musical for Broadway, and they've gone on record numerous times saying that they put a lot of hard work into the musical parts of the South Park movie.
Stephen Sondheim was a big fan of both of their movies. Iirc he considered Bigger Longer and Uncut one of the best musicals of our generation
Didn’t they write the Book of Mormon?
Sia herself told them they would do great if they dedicated themselves to the music industry
Go watch their 25th Anniversary concert.
They're singing all the songs themselves live.
Now I want translations for ALL of Kenny's lines 😆
I forgot which season but one of the translations is " I have got a ten inch penis, use your mouth if you want to clean it" 😂😂😂
you can find them all if you search it up
Back in the early days of the show, there was a website dedicated to translating Kenny
Look it up
On the DvDs the subtitles translate, at least that's how I remember it.
Idk if you knew this but Trey Parker and Matt Stone are musical nerds and all they ever wanted to do was write music :D The Book of Mormon is one of the most hilarious musicals out there
bigger, longer, uncut is one long musical. Trey Parker does the Devil's voice and hits some high pitch singing. Fantastic singer.
I’m here for some Book of Mormon reactions. That musical is a masterpiece!
They also had a band called DVDA, which if you don’t know what that stands for….. ask your mother. Lmao Trey and Matt are demented in the best possible way.
Book of Mormon is awesome. I've seen it a couple times.
Not for nothing but Cannibal the Musical came out years before Book of Mormon.
The vocalists look like they are having the time of their life. Although it is silly, there's also an enjoyable experience singing something so ludicrous with such technical skill and ability. That can't be anything but extremely enjoyable for them.
Same reason, just on an entirely different level, we used to sing "Leck mich im Arsch" (K. 231) - yes, actually by Mozart - when the choir couldn't be serious enough for Camina Burana, the thing we were actually praticing for in our high school choir :)
And the conductor
Whoever arranged the vocals is crazy impressive, there’s so much chromaticism in all the songs when they could’ve made really basic harmonies instead: i love it
I'm not sure what's more impressive, the quality of the performance, or the fact that they were able to get through the songs with a straight face.
Neither. The knowledge that any of these songs wouldn’t have made it REMOTELY close to air on literally any other show besides South Park.
Yes
Between Elizabeth blushing and giggling but yet getting "Serious" with her voice analysis. . . . . . . . Priceless. . . Loved it !!!
Her name is Elizabeth? No wonder she has the same beauty as Elizabeth Montgomery.

Especially the technical advice on how to properly sing “bitch”. 😄
@@jonahs92 She does kind of look like Elizabeth Montgomery, though.
This was just fantastic. I sang along with these, as I grew up with them. "Kyles Mom" from an orchestra is just amazing.
A fucking classic remastered! 🤣
Good to see what you are doing while avoiding zombies Capp :)
I wish it was longer, with the center sections in the different fake-languages.
It wasn't a musical observation, but I WISH she'd noticed and pointed out that Kyle's NOT clapping during that song! I seriously LOL'd when I noticed that. Excellent touch!
Edit: And I'd LOVE to see the outtakes of the performers' practice sessions for Chocolate Salty Balls. You KNOW there had to have been some really good crack ups.
And Kyle looked so mad in the audience while cartman is loving it haha!
16:31 Lol, the amazing thing is Chocolate Salty Balls actually hit #1 on the UK charts, it was a full blown actual Isaac Hayes song that he performed in concerts. 😄
May he rest in peace!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why's that amazing?
"Banger song is an absolute hit, surprising no one"
I really appreciate your deep analysis of the vocal stylings and technique on *checks notes* “Kyle’s Mom’s a B*tch”.
I so love that you're a classically trained opera singer, yet you appreciate so many diverse genres, and freely embrace South Park. You are a gem.😉💕
Absolutely agreed. In addition to her musical knowledge, Elizabeth's approachability and likability is enthralling. I love that she treats every genre and vocalist with care and respect. Thank you for what you do, Elizabeth.
I increasingly find close-mindedness is a sure sign of an amateur.
She's a sycophant. She obviously doesn't like every single thing she ever hears, even though she tries hard to give us that impression.
If she was a Gem she'd be the Hope Diamond.
I do read these comments, H 1.
There is music I don't like, and those videos I don't release. I find it very easy for people to be negative about everything in life, so there's no reason for me to ever tear down an artist for music that I just don't appreciate.
Every video on this channel is my honest opinion. My first listen to Rob Halford of Judas Priest, I said "I don't know if I like his voice, but I respect it." I am a very honest person, and that's what you'll always get here.
Fun versions but I miss the true ending of Kyle's Mom: "Kyle's Mooom is a Beee-ee-ee-eeeCHAH!". To me it's just iconic.
My favorite is the different language breakdowns
With Kyle's mom standing behind him...
At the end…… Cartman‘s response: "What? Oh fuck...". 😂😂😂😂
ua-cam.com/video/aPzhJl6f00Q/v-deo.html
"I really mean it!"
I love how she takes a few seconds after the music ends to process the lyrics fully and then she just cant help but laugh.. so cute :D
In the original song they have different cultures sing it but was actually properly from English to Chinese, Dutch, French and Swahili which I personally found amazing
This version of the song actually originated in the early seasons of the show, so they raised the stakes for the movie by singing it in different languages.
They sang the ver cartman sang in where Mr Hankey the Christmas poo first appeared
Trust me, there not a single Dutch word in that song.
Bigger, Longer and Uncut.
Best musical film ever made.
LaResistance lives on !
Cannibal the Musical is quite underrated.
I need to watch it again...its been too long
I wish they had used the movie version of "Kyle's Mom". The multi-linguistic lyrics would make it a challenge and the big production ending would make it priceless!
Translation un spanish does not disapoint.
I was hoping for, "Jackin' for the lord!".
Oh my, South Park can be so much fun when delivered by straight-faced professional singers doing their best to not break down into laughter
Kudos to the guy who did Kenny's line for doing so straight faced. Wonder if that took more than one take in practice?
Think about this. Kenny's been saying that every week for a quarter of a century.
The "gay fish" segment has to be the apex of South Park. Everything about that episode and Kanye's failure to get the joke, ending with his acceptance of being a gay fish, was just perfection.
Best use of auto tune ever!
AND the fact that real Kanye got pissed off about the episode is the cherry on top
@@smileygladhands I'VE BEEN SO LONELY GURL 😂
She probably didn’t even know the gay fish song was just heartless by Kanye with different lyrics obviously
@@JoeMama-ly1kc that's not obvious lol I didn't know that lmao 😭
All these artists, the orchestra included, had to have had such a difficult time keeping a straight face with all the vocal shenanigans going on! I mean the content is so silly they deserve an award just for maintaining composure! Loved the review though amidst the laughter.
Her shocked face when she first hears Jackin’ it in San Diego was very amusing
I love this content on SP's part because it values their work, make opera more accessible and just.... everyone can just laugh at this, it's so positive and simple. CHILD-LIKE really
It's amazing when you realize that in the originals, Matt and Trey are singing in the voice of the boys. The funniest is still Kenny learning to sing opera, and his first lesson is some basic vocal warm ups and then Con Te Partiro in its entirety.
Kenny and Con Te Partiro sounds utterly insane!
@@erichbrough6097 there's some other things that are happening at the same time, I won't spoil it, but hoo boy, it's a doozy.
That salty chocolate balls song is absolutely amazing and I don’t care what anyone says. Also, the original theme was sung mostly by les claypool of primus, so that explains the monotone singing/rap thing.
Having an orchestra and classical singers make an interpretation of a Primus song is the most insane plottwist of the history of music.
@@marc-antoinequessy5388 I think Les would approve.
Salty Chocolate balls was actually a number 1 hit for a few weeks here in the netherlands.
Thatmsalty chocolate balls, lol and my in game name in Rise of Kingdoms is actually SaltyCornFlakes. Lol
I still have the original single of that song. It also included Oh Holy Night sung by Cartman while being hit with a cattleprod.
Kennys line on the intro seriously goes hard
You have the most expressive face and eyes I've seen. It's a joy to just watch the look on your face during these videos
You should hear her giggle when something impresses her or makes her feel happy. Fucking cute as fuck.
The South Park movie (South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut) was nominated for, and won several awards for its music.
I still remember Robin Williams performing Blame Canada a the Oscars.
Blame Canada should've won
I personally think Satan’s musical number ‘Up There’ is one of their greatest. Fantastic songwriters, even back to Chef’s numbers in the first few series
“When did this song become a marathon?”…….
@@JefAlanLong I still go back and listen to that song a few times a year. It's just soooo good and I can't get enough trying to mimic the end register and winding up in an uncontrollable coughing fit.
That laugh when Cartman blew on the French horn was ADORABLE. Love your open mindedness and enthusiasm for all things music. This channel is a little bit of light in an all-too-often dark world and deserves every sub.
fun fact! the black woman is princess tiana's voice actor!
this video feels like your middle school music teacher having fun teaching you stuff during a lesson it's lowkey nostalgic
The opening intro for South Park is performed by Primus & they have their own deadpan delivery. If you've never reacted to anything by Primus, you really should give their work a listen. I dont think you'll be disappointed. UA-cam really does need to add a ❤ emoji. This video with all these seasoned professional opera singers & dressed up for the part & singing these ridiculous raunchy songs is priceless, & so was your reaction to it all.
100% support this! Honestly, I don't think there's much analysis to be done of Les Claypool's voice (I think he has a range of about half an octave), but the sheer musicianship of the entire band is on another level.
I suddenly feel like I cannot die happy if I don't see an analysis of Wynona's Big Brown Beaver

Chocolate Salty Balls was played on the Radio and music television in the late 90's like any other song. And it was hella big.
You have to realise that song was a chart topping single in the UK and and number 2 for the Christmas Chart only beaten out by the freakin Spice Girls by 5000 sold copies.
Saying it was hella big is an understatement.
It was enormous in the US as well. Having Isaac Hayes surely helped. I remember hearing the song on the radio and not long after my "cool" uncle let me watch South Park since he was the only one with a satellite. I was 10 or 11...
@@JosiahGould You have to love cool uncles.

didn't the Blame Canada song win a grammy or something?
I have a cd from the 90s with there songs. From the movie
Couple days late to the party, but I was having my morning coffee when this drifted across my recommendations. Saw these promos when they first showed up and got a good laugh, but It never even crossed my mind that Elizabeth might break them down. After a few near spit-takes, the coffee is abandoned and I don't care. Just too damn good, and just knowing how much time these amazing singers have spent learning and practicing and polishing their craft to this level of skill... And they're using it to sing -this-. Just gives me life, it really does. I'm ready for my day now. Bless you.
It's really fun to watch how animated you get talking about music. Thanks for all you do :)

You made me laugh just watching your face ....You just about kept it together whilst giggling like a toddler but it was close...🤣🤣You ... are ... a fabulous woman!! 💕⭐
I love you, Elizabeth. Thank you for reacting to my absolute favourite cartoon ever.
1. There's a song called "Blame Canada" that was supposed to win the 2000 Oscars but it lost to Phil Collins. Now imagine what they did to Phil Collins in one of their later episodes.
2. Isaac Hayes' Chocolate salty balls song actually reached #1 on the UK charts, you should DEFINITELY react to it.
I could go on forever regarding the South Park Iceberg, but I don't want to spoil it all in case you react to more songs.

I hope there is a full version of this, i'm in for the 4 hours of this.
It was isaac hayes. Mind, the story there was awful. He sent the creators of south park a terrible letter. Denouncing everything about south park as evil. It turned out he'd had a stroke and was in a very bad way. The church of scientology actually sent the letter to matt and trey. Turns out he really loved his time on south park. Sadly he'd passed away before he had the chance to tell matt and trey. Heartbreaking stuff
To expand a bit, it was specifically the Tom Cruise scientology episode that had supposedly upset Hayes and he did have unflattering things to say at the time about the show. ( now whether that actually came from him or not, or if it was a press release or a letter from the church, I don't know. I do know that the statements were absolutely attributed to him at the time ) Enough anger was generated to prompt Stone and Parker to create the "Chef's a raging pedophile" episode, using snippets of Hayes' voiceovers to haphazardly piece together Chef's dialogue for the episode. I am glad you included the bit about Hayes not knowing and actually enjoying his time there as I never knew if that was actually factual...I had seen that somewhere, but didn't know if it was true. If nothing else, leaves me with a much better feeling about the legendary Isaac Hayes...so thanks for that.
@@johnjohn37371 it did always seem odd that Issac Hayes suddenly turned on South Park after being so deeply involved, I guess we will never know. But RIP Chef.
@@MrBlackjimrogan Agreed. I still say his role as Gandolph Fitch on the TV show The Rockford Files was right up there with Chef. He was Rockford's old cell mate from prison and called him Rockfish...the cat was 😎!
@@MrBlackjimrogan It actually made sense to a point because it wasn't until they insulted his "religion" that there was an issue. Humans are notoriously hypocritical. Up until that point he did unquestionably love his job.
@@MrBlackjimrogan Years later, it came out that Isaac Hayes had fallen ill and that's what caused him to leave the show (unknown to the creators at the time); Scientologists wrote the letter not by Chef. They were more pissed off than Chef.

The South Park Movie is one of the greatest musicals of my generation. Was even nominated for Musical of the Year. The movie is so outrageous and funny that most people don't realize they are watching a musical. Throughout the whole movie, the story is told and developed by musical numbers, from beginning to end. Worthy of a reaction from a professional like you.
I'd absolutely agree. It's crass and crude, but it's commentary is still as relevant in 2022 as it was in 1999. And the musical numbers are absolutely top-notch.
Trey and Matt said they were trying to spoof a Disney musical, and they damn well pulled it off.
Your reaction and analysis of these orchestral renditions of iconic South Park songs was amazing and hilarious, Elizabeth. I couldn't help but laugh with you when watching and rewatching each of these songs.

Hearing your operatic performances and then seeing your reactions to such non-operatic performances such as The Righteous Brothers, Pink Floyd and, of course, this South Park Orchestral is absolutely stunning and a tad mind boggling.

Hi Elizabeth, I haven't watched South Park since the late '90s/early '00s. Thank you for the fun video and putting a smile on my face today!!! 💙
Dude... So, you never watch South Park when they become the greatest show of all time? Don't get me wrong, early South Park is amazing, just amazing. But then... They changed. And it was so much better!!! You really are missing the greatest show ever made for television. It's amazing how much better they become with time. Sooooo much better!!!
Go watch!!! Immediatly!!!!
"Kyle's Mom" is one of my favorites of these orchestral renditions simply because of how ridiculous it is. Here we have a full orchestra, with performers dressed to the nines and singing in a more classical style - all things that we associate with the fancy and sophisticated - and here they are using all that just to insult someone's mom. Perfection. You summed it up pretty well with the shock value.
My other favorite is Chocolate Salty Balls. You can just tell how much fun the vocalists were having with that one. It deserves a full cover.
I didn't know I needed "Kyle's Mom is like Gilbert & Sullivan" in my life, but here we are
Thank you for this!!
I loved that you reacted to this!
South Park is my favorite show. Would love to see just the songs from the movie performed live. That would be a treat!
This was tremendous. All I needed was Cartman's Poker Face which of course is a take on Lady Gaga's version. One of
my all time favorites. Tamar was really great here. I hope that UA-cam sends you something special for this reaction
Elizabeth. Making people smile and laugh hysterically for several minutes is something that should always be rewarded.
🤣 I've watched southpark for years, I would have never thought of having real vocalist and symphony do the songs. OMG the after show must have been fun as hell.
Recently they had their 25 th anniversary live concert, it was awesome! Thanks for this!
