you should not have to use a puller on the pulley?

Do the surfaces of the pulley and clutch have to be smooth or is there some kind of friction material that should be on the clutch?

Chopper Head There’s a friction material there but wasnt any wear evident. New bearing fitted and reassembled. Job done
