I just started noticing a clicking noise on second gear only, if the gearbox is already spinning and I engage second, even with the clutch still disengaged, I can hear it. Thank you for this well explained video, I'm almost certain that it's a worn syncromesh in second, I haven't noticed any loud pops or anything that could indicate damage to the second gear teeth, and seeing how the teeth are always contacting eachother switching to a different gear doesn't seem like it would stop the noise. I also drained the gear oil today, there was no sign of unnatural wear, though it was slightly overfilled, I changed the gear oil last fall, but the car already had 245k miles on the original gear oil.

From what you just said I strongly suspect clutch related problems. The clutch is the part that is involved every time you change gears. And bad clutch system can stop power flow to the gearbox altogether. The clutch should fully disengage for smooth gear change and should fully engage after gear shift to allow power flow from the engine to the gearbox..

If the noise is coming from inside the transmission it could be caused by worn out parts due to lack of lubrication. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears all share same counter shaft and any defect on the counter shaft or its bearings could make it noisy

my car just started to make a light bump sound when i choose a gear at a stop with the clutch pressed in any idea on what that could be ? it goes into gear fine just has that sound that happens maybe 5/10 stops
If you happen to feel the vibration at the clutch pedal when the clutch is depressed, then most probably it caused by a problem in the clutch system such as worn release bearing, uneven diaphragm spring fingers or irregular release fingers. Please check to see if the clutch system and all the linkages are in good condition!!

Hi. Great training setup.
Question. Scania series 2, PTO setup with hydraulic pump.
Was running pto for couple hours and when finished turned off but still had bad noise.
No oil in gearbox, replaced oil but now gearbox has a really bad whine in first 3 gears in both high and low.
Any idea?
Maybe gears or is PTO issue?
output bearing maybe (assuming all the drive gear bearings aren't a problem).
makes a bunch of clicking noises and grinding when i put it in park do you know what that could be
I have a whirring noise at low speed, it initially started when turning right. But now it makes a noise in all gears but especially noticeable at 60mph. When the clutch is depressed, the noise disappears. Any idea what it could be?
Where is the noise coming from? The gearbox? the differential? the clutch housing? the drive shafts?
@@TheAbJGarage I don’t know. It’s very subtle but sounds like a wire stuck in a washing machine. More noticeable on the motorway when travelling distance
Hi need some advise please don't know anymore what can be wrong,it's a opel corsa gamma, car start put car in gear but car is not moving, replaced cv thrustbearing clutch plate pressure plate sceamed flywheel everything but stil not moving if someone please can tell us what to look at next
Have the clutch disc been installed correctly? If the disc is not properly installed or if there is wrong clutch adjustment, then the car may not move!
I have noise coming from my gear box when shifting gears.
Same here😮
my car just started to make a light bump sound when i choose a gear at a stop with the clutch pressed in any idea on what that could be ? it goes into gear fine just has that sound that happens maybe 5/10 stops
i can feel it in my pedal
If you happen to feel the vibration at the clutch pedal when the clutch is depressed, then most probably it caused by a problem in the clutch system such as worn release bearing, uneven diaphragm spring fingers or irregular release fingers. Please check to see if the clutch system and all the linkages are in good condition!!
big noise when you release from gear 1???
This a teaching model and we were not fully using the clutch when shifting, that must have made it noisy!
Nice video

Noise in 5th gear when running
What kind of noise? If it is a engine hunting kind of noise, it would indicate that it is not the correct time to select 5th gear.

hey man,i have 2009 toyota camry and i have noise at 3th,4th gear "speed 40's" still hearing noise around 40's on "N"
so what r u think is the problem?
Hi, could this be a gearbox bearing or throw out bearing noise. In neutral there's a noise, push the clutch in and the noise goes away. When driving as the clutch moves away from the biting point the noise appears, when I press it in while driving just pass the biting point the noise is gone.
1st gear loud howling type of noise
2nd gear noise is abit quieter
3rd gear much more quiet
4th gear can barely hear it
5th gear very light humming noise
How can it gone?
Hello what causes the gears to burn inside gearbox?
